Chapter 119 The Theft of Valentine's Day Chocolates

The Valentine's Day that Kenzaki Yuuma had been looking forward to has finally arrived. This is the first Valentine's Day after he and Hoshika got married.

Yuzhen had already prepared a gift, but of course she didn't tell Xingge, since she wanted to give her a surprise.

He had originally planned to take everyone to the amusement park for a day, but he found that Valentine's Day tickets were impossible to get.

So Yuzhen had to settle for second best and booked a French restaurant for dinner with Xingge that evening.

He was still thinking about his plans when he pushed open the door to the performance hall and found that everyone was there, including Hiroi.

Xingge, PA, the End Band, and Guangjing huddled together, seemingly discussing something.

"What are you all doing huddled together?" Yuma approached them. "What happened?"

"It's nothing, we were just discussing the end of the music festival the band participated in." PA stepped in front of Yuuma. "Why is Mr. Kenzaki here so early today?"

"Because it's Valentine's Day today. I'm here to see my wife, is there a problem?"

Yuzhen stood there with his arms crossed, watching them. He had a feeling that these people were hiding something from him.

But he couldn't think about it any longer. The restaurant he had booked suddenly called him, saying they needed to confirm something with him.

"Sorry, I have something to do and I have to leave for a bit." Yuzhen hung up the phone and left in a hurry.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when he left.

"So, who ate the chocolate?" Xingge asked, looking at the group of people in front of her.

A few days ago, Xingge and Hongxia made chocolates together, but someone ate them. She made them herself and planned to give them to Youzhen on Valentine's Day. However, she went out to buy some things and when she came back, she found that the chocolates were gone.

It took her and Hongxia a long time to finish it while Youzhen wasn't home.

At first, she was clumsy and couldn't do it at all, but Hongxia taught her step by step.

Actually, she and Hongxia made portions for everyone this time, but the portion she made for Youzhen was a little different, and it just so happened that that portion was stolen and eaten.

"Did you sneak food after you got drunk?" Xingge looked at Guangjing, who was the most likely person here to do it.

"How could I possibly do such a thing?" Hiroi quickly denied it. She felt that if she really had stolen the food, Kenzaki Yuu might kill her.

"Ryo, you didn't eat it, did you?" Xingge looked at Yamada Ryo again, who was the second most likely perpetrator among the group.

"It wasn't me." Liang quickly shook her head. "I have the chocolate Hongxia gave me."

……

The group of them sat around the table, discussing for so long without reaching a conclusion.

Why not check the surveillance footage?

"But..." Xingge was about to answer the question when she noticed that everyone had lowered their heads.

She realized that what she had just heard sounded like Yuuma's voice.

Xingge turned around and saw that Youzhen had indeed returned, and was standing behind her at some point.

"You still have a chance to be forgiven if you admit it now." Yuzhen looked at the group of people in front of her with a kind expression. "If I find out from the surveillance footage, you'll have to bear the consequences."

"I'm sorry!" Hiroi immediately left his seat and bowed deeply to Yuma and Hoshika, apologizing profusely. "It was probably me who did it."

"What do you mean by 'probably'?" Xingge looked at her helplessly. Sure enough, Hiroi must be involved in this kind of thing.

“Because I don’t remember either.” Hiroi said, pulling a wad of wrapping paper from his pocket. “But I found this in my pocket. This should be the wrapper from that chocolate bar, right?”

Xingge took the wad of wrapping paper, unfolded it, and there was the chocolate wrapper.

"As expected, it was you who stole it." Xingge looked at Guangjing, who was still lying on the ground, with hostility.

Just as she was about to say something, PA and Kita suddenly interrupted her: "Actually, we ate too."

Boqi also lowered her head and quietly admitted to being an accomplice, and Liang also dried up.

"Wait! So you all ate it together?" Hongxia looked at the group who had finally admitted their mistake. "But why did you all do that?"

After their explanation, Yuzhen and Xingge finally understood the whole story:

Hongxia gave Liang a portion of the chocolate she made at school, and then she told Liang that she had made a portion for everyone, and that Xingge had also made chocolate for everyone.

After Liang arrived at the performance hall, she just rehearsed and worked with everyone.

When Xingge went out to buy things, she saw the chocolates that Xingge had left on the table in the lounge. Remembering what Hongxia had said, she took one and shared it with everyone.

They only discovered at the very end that there was a note at the bottom of the bag of chocolates Liang had brought that read "For the one I love most." At that moment, they felt like the sky had fallen.

Xingge listened to the details of their crimes.

"I didn't write the note," Xingge said, secretly winking at Hongxia.

“It wasn’t written by my sister… Ah, I wrote it and then put it in.” Hongxia put her hands on her hips and looked at Xingge with a smug look on her face. “My sister doesn’t understand romance at all. If my brother really saw the note, he would be very happy.”

“Sodayo.” Yuma nodded, not denying it. “I would be very happy if you two hadn’t told anyone about this.”

Then he turned to look at the group of people who had just admitted their mistakes and were standing in a row with their heads down.

“I won’t pursue the matter of you mixing up the chocolates.” Yuzhen shook her head, looking at them helplessly. “However, I’m very angry that you won’t admit your mistake.”

……

After resolving the matter here, Hongxia and Xingge still gave the chocolates they made to everyone.

However, Ryo didn't receive the chocolate that Hoshika gave her; she gave her share to Yuuma.

"Actually, the portion I originally planned to give you was pretty much the same as these." Xingge and Youzhen sat together, "except that portion had a few extra pieces of other flavors in it."

"The thought is what counts." Youzhen ate a piece of chocolate that Xingge had given her; it was quite delicious. "I've made a reservation at a restaurant tonight. Shall we go out for dinner together?"

"Of course it can."

"And this too." Yuzhen took out the gift he had bought from his pocket—a necklace. He put it on Xingge directly.

"Thank you..." Xingge opened her phone's camera and took a selfie to look at the necklace she was wearing.

"What a beautiful necklace." Hongxia happened to come over and saw the necklace around Xingge's neck. "So, brother has good taste."

"What makes you think I have bad taste?" Yuzhen replied to Hongxia in an annoyed tone, then rubbed her head. "We're going out for dinner tonight, so don't wait for us."

"I understand." Hongxia tidied her hair, which had been ruffled by Youzhen. "Then happy Valentine's Day, brother and sister."

Chapter 120 Can I do it at home?

Xingge specially let everyone leave work early today, and the performance hall closed early.

She was dragged back home by Hongxia to change her clothes before going downstairs to take a taxi with Youzhen to the restaurant he had booked.

"What restaurant did you book?" Xingge, sitting in the taxi, suddenly realized she hadn't asked that yet.

“It’s French food.” Yuzhen opened her phone and handed it to Xingge. The phone showed information about the restaurant. “Actually, I’ve never eaten this kind of food before. Yuxing recommended it to me.”

"It looks really expensive."

Xingge looked through the restaurant information on her phone. Some of the pictures were of the restaurant's interior decoration, and she immediately felt that such places would be ridiculously expensive.

"It's okay, it's Valentine's Day after all." Yuzhen took her phone back. "It's been so long since we spent Valentine's Day together."

"That's true."

“So let’s not worry about these things today.” Yuzhen put her arm around her shoulder. “Besides, today’s Valentine’s Day is just for the two of us. We can forget about Nijika for a while.”

"I feel like there's something off about what you're saying." Xingge removed his hand from her shoulder. They were still in the taxi, and this guy had already put his arm around her.

……

The restaurant recommended by Yuxing is a Michelin one-star restaurant located between Shibuya and Omotesando. It specializes in game meats and has an exquisite interior.

The reason why Yuzhen was willing to come here was very simple: neither he nor Xingge liked suits and formal wear, and they both felt a little uncomfortable wearing them.

Unlike other upscale restaurants, this restaurant does not require formal attire; ordinary casual wear is sufficient.

The restaurant owner had some connection with Yuuki, so he made a special trip to meet Yuuki.

"Let's go, I booked a private room." Youzhen took Xingge's hand and they took the elevator upstairs together.

"Your private rooms are this way."

After leaving the elevator, Yuzhen, holding Xingge's hand, followed the waiter to the private room Yuzhen had reserved.

As soon as they reached the corner, they bumped into Kenzaki Yuriko, with Kenzaki Ikuma following behind.

"Mom and Dad? What are you doing here?" Yuzhen didn't expect to run into her parents here. "Did Yuxing recommend you to come here?"

"Shin-chan and Hoshika too?" Kenzaki Yuriko looked at the two of them in surprise. "Seriously, how much does Sachi like this place?"

"Are Mom and Dad here? Is Brother Youxing at home?" Xingge asked.

“No, he’s still at the company,” Kenzaki Yuriko shook her head and replied. “But Aiko is with him, so you don’t need to worry about him.”

“I understand,” Yuuma said, looking at Hoshika. “Never mind Kenzaki Yuuki.”

Meeting here was an accident. Kenzaki Yuriko and Kenzaki Yima will definitely go out for a romantic dinner together on Valentine's Day.

They had plenty of places to go, but it just so happened that they ended up at the same restaurant as Youzhen and Xingge today.

They didn't intend to disturb the two young people, and after chatting for a few minutes, they parted ways with Yuzhen and the others.

"Let's go eat first."

Yuzhen and Xingge followed the waiter to their private room.

"Is it okay? Just like that, I'm separating from my parents."

"It's alright, they don't like being disturbed on days like this either," Yuzhen replied, glancing at the menu. "Why don't you take a look and see what you'd like to order?"

……

The dishes they ordered were served one after another.

The appetizers were classic macarons and snow crab French savory pie, both small and quite delicate.

However, since it's just an appetizer, a smaller portion is quite reasonable.

The French meat pie with game and foie gras was quite good, and Yuzhen thought it would pair well with red wine. However, he couldn't hold his liquor and didn't dare drink too much, so it got a bit greasy towards the end.

Xingge seemed to really like the fish dishes here; she thought they were somewhat like Chinese food and tasted quite good. Youzhen silently noted it down, thinking she could learn to make them for her later.
