[COD] Newbie's Rise to Power

“My friends, people will find it strange if you do this.”

Wang Zhiqiang was the first to speak: "Why do I feel...they'll just feel envious?"

Blizzard nodded: "yn, you care too much about what others think."

You have no choice but to let them be.

Blizzard and the others continued their laughter and banter, but you sensed a gaze upon you.

You subconsciously turn your head to look.

In the corner, a pair of light blue eyes met yours, then silently looked away.

You looked away, opened your phone, and found the image of the plush monster.

Edit and send.

[Koenig, would you like to come sit with me?]

It took quite a while before they sent a reply.

Koenig: [No.]

After seeing the reply, you subconsciously looked towards that corner, but the figure that was sitting there had disappeared.

ch.13: If there are no conditions, create them!

As the days go by, your live-fire training is drawing to a close.

Your previous achievement didn't make you proud; instead, it fueled your competitive spirit.

Especially during this live-fire training, you clearly noticed the gap between yourself and them.

Although you have gained experience after training and can no longer be considered a novice, a small portion of the new recruits have participated in actual combat, and you are still not up to par with them.

Based on this estimate, your ranking in this assessment is likely to be less than ideal.

But you're not convinced! Everyone else can do it, so why can't you? Since someone is destined to be number one, why can't that person be you?

However, the gap in experience cannot be ignored just because you disagree; if you want to catch up, you have to improve your experience.

The base's weapons will be collected after your training is completed, and you cannot use them at will except during training time.

This is also why the gap is fixed; there's no way to close it through practice.

But this is not a reason to be an obstacle. As our predecessors have left us with a famous saying: If there are no conditions, create them!

Since it's all about shooting, you've thought of something.

However, you don't have some of the tools, so you'll have to go to Wang Zhiqiang.

Upon hearing what you were planning to do, Wang Zhiqiang excitedly picked up a knife and materials and led you into the grove of trees at the base.

Half an hour later, you will have a slingshot made by you and Wang Zhiqiang using the tree branch you chose.

"Girl, I have to say, you're really clever and quirky."

Wang Zhiqiang handed you the finished slingshot and then helped you find a suitable pebble.

You pick up a pebble, put it in the slingshot's pouch, pinch it, then hold the slingshot frame and pull back the rubber band...

call out--

A stone was thrown and hit a branch high up.

"There's no way I can catch up with them if I don't practice."

After you try firing a shot, respond to him.

Wang Zhiqiang was also a little puzzled: "You seem to care a lot about the ranking. Actually, you just need to work hard. You can practice after you are assigned a gun."

You throw out another bombshell, saying, "Because I'm different from them. I signed an employment contract, while they were already regular soldiers. Mercenaries have too little security, and Ghost said that if I perform well, I'll have a chance to apply for a regular soldier position."

Wang Zhiqiang: "......"

He hesitated to tell you that it was basically impossible unless you had a famous feat on the battlefield, in which case you might be able to be recruited.

But he doesn't want to discourage you. Having a goal will give you the motivation to improve, and the more you learn, the more benefits you will receive.

So after a few seconds of silence, he encouraged you: "Come on, you can do it! Chinese girls are second to none!"

Encouraged, you became even more determined.

In the days that followed, the person who frequently disappeared and returned late changed from Blizzard to you.

This led to Blizzard gossiping about you, wondering if you secretly went on a date.

After you explained it once, you lost the energy to care about it anymore.

After you've wreaked havoc on the leaves, branches, and even birds and insects in the grove, you've made some simple practice targets to stop the destruction.

You think your actions are very discreet, after all, you always choose times when there are few people and secluded locations.

But the way you secretly trained was still photographed and sent to someone's phone.

Soap watched the video of the successful delivery and then sent a text message.

Simon, look what I've found!

It took a while before they replied.

Simon: [Where are you?]

Soap replied: [In the grove in the East District, the little girl is really working hard. What kind of spell did you cast on her?]

The ghost simply sent a message: "She didn't use a gun, ignore her."

Then came another sentence: "Don't disturb them."

Soap gave up on the idea of going up to greet you and pouted in boredom.

However, he admires hardworking and ambitious people, so he silently said this to you in his heart.

"Young lady, I hope your efforts will be rewarded."

Then, he put away his phone and left silently.

The live-fire training was finally coming to an end, but Ghost, one of the instructors, was absent.

It is said that he received some kind of mission and went to carry it out.

However, this will not affect your final assessment.

This assessment only tests shooting skills with pistols, rifles, and sniper rifles; RPG rocket-propelled munitions are not included.

There are three types of shooting targets: basic targets, moving targets, and distance-numerical targets.

The assessment consists of three parts, each requiring ten bullets, for a total of thirty bullets, corresponding to a total score of three hundred.

After nearly a day, the assessment finally came to an end, and your scores were determined.

First place, Luo Wei: 292 points.

Second place, Talis: 289 points.

And you, with 288 points, narrowly missed second place by one point and ended up in third.

However, you were not discouraged by this, after all, this result was based on your real strength. The top two had participated in real competitions, and the third place, which was not inflated, should not be discouraged.

This is the result you've achieved through your hard work. This is all the ability you currently have. What you should do is not be discouraged, but work even harder.

However, there is one good thing.

After more than a month, you finally received your first paycheck!

Since the salary payment date is fixed, and your arrival time did not correspond to that, it was only paid now.

Salary is paid at the end of the month, so you receive more than a month's salary.

For convenience and security, instead of cash, we issued you a savings card, and the money will be deposited into the card on time every month.

$4135, that's your balance.

People can't leave the base freely, but every now and then someone will be sent out to buy supplies and pick up packages.

So if you need anything, you can ask someone to buy it for you, or you can buy it online.

You downloaded the overseas version of a domestic shopping app, then got an account from Wang Zhiqiang and filled in an address.

Lying in bed, you excitedly flip through the pages.

What should I buy...?

Remembering that Wang Zhiqiang had mentioned not having eaten local snacks from his hometown for a long time, you searched for them online.

Tianjin specialties...buy! Buy, buy, buy!

Blizzard complained that their players have become rougher during training lately.

Hand cream...buy it! Buy several sets, one for everyone in the dorm!

And then there's what you want.

Buy instant noodles!

Buy Lao Gan Ma all-purpose sauce!

Buy sunscreen!

I glanced at the almost empty tea box on your bedside table.

I'll buy jasmine tea!

Speaking of tea, I wonder if you've finished the tea you gave to the ghost.

Thinking about your recent complaints about him, you feel a pang of guilt and decide to buy him something too.

Last time it was jasmine tea, but this time you want him to try something different. The British like to drink black tea, so let's buy some black tea.

You chose a high-quality black tea, then returned your jasmine tea and placed a new order for both from this shop.

The money in your account has shrunk by almost half. After a couple of seconds of heartache, you start looking forward to receiving the goods again.
