"It's the time for cultivation...it's the time for cultivation...Brother, I can't do it! I really can't!"

Tian Jinzhong let out a cry from the bottom of his heart.

To keep the secret, he insisted on not entering deep sleep for decades, only taking short naps to ensure his brain could rest for a moment. This went against the natural order, which kept his mind constantly tense.

Now that his secret has been stolen, all his decades of guarding it has been in vain, and his Dao heart has been completely shattered.

Tian Jinzhong's belief collapsed.

"Hey--"

Zhang Zhiwei sighed, not knowing how to persuade him. He then learned that Zhao Huanjin's three corpses had been summoned by Tu Junfang, so he ordered him to go to the meditation room to meditate.

Stepping out of the room, Zhang Zhiwei saw Jiang Liu leaning against the wall outside, and Feng Shayan waiting respectfully to the side. He asked, "Little Shayan, didn't you go back with your father?"

"Old Celestial Master".

Feng Shayan bowed respectfully, saying, "I have already become Jiang Liu's disciple."

"is it?"

Zhang Zhiwei raised an eyebrow and said to Jiang Liu, "I didn't realize you were such a hypocrite."

You actually accepted a disciple who is older than you?

Do you like the mature, sophisticated style?

"Yes, in my memory, you and Miss Hong had a rather ambiguous relationship."

"Hey Hey hey!"

Jiang Liu objected, yelling, "Don't go around matchmaking! And—"

"Old Celestial Master, am I really older than Jiang Liu?" Feng Shayan interjected, her face full of suspicion.

"The old Taoist priest never deceives his conscience."

Zhang Zhiwei pointed at Jiang Liu and said, "This guy is indeed only eighteen, not the one who has reversed his aging process and achieved immortality as rumored outside."

For a moment, the sand gull had a different idea.

Fortunately, the river flowed and stopped him, and he clapped his hands.

Feng Shayan immediately ran to the nearby bushes and dragged out Gong Qing, Lü Liang, and Tu Junfang. All three of them had their hands and feet broken. She said, "Brother Zhiwei, as a friend, haven't I been good enough?"

"Enough! That's more than enough! I'm even thinking of passing on the position of Celestial Master to you!" Zhang Zhiwei finally smiled.

"No! You're the one who wore that headband!"

Jiang Liu chuckled.

# Chapter 600 Severing the Three Corpses is No Longer a "Slaying"

"So, what are you going to do with these three?"

Jiang Liu asked curiously, "Should we just kill him directly? Or take him to Tian Jinzhong and kill him to put his mind at ease?"

"You know quite a lot."

Zhang Zhiwei narrowed his eyes, but considering Jiang Liu's current abilities, he suppressed his curiosity and asked, "What do you think?"

“Lu Liang’s identity is a bit special. You can contact Lu Ci, but if you just kill him, he won’t say much. He might even thank you for cleaning up his Lu family’s mess.”

Jiang Liu glanced at the three people and said in turn, "Tu Junfang, his technique is quite peculiar. Perhaps you can keep it and deliberately let the three corpses of your Longhu Mountain disciples manifest, so that you can face and overcome your inner demons?"

That's a bad idea.

Therefore.

Zhang Zhiwei squinted: →_→

Jiang Liu, however, seemed oblivious to this and continued to say, “I’ve tried his Three Corpses. They’re quite peculiar. They can arouse the three thoughts of greed, anger, and ignorance, and combine them with the Qi of the upper, middle, and lower Dantian to form corresponding concrete images. To some extent, they can help people confront their inner flaws.”

When Jiang Liu encountered the Three Corpse Demon before, he deliberately let the wasp that looked like a fly sting him, which brought out his own three poisons of greed, anger and ignorance.

To break free from the three corpses, it is often said that one must have a firm and unwavering mind, undisturbed by external things.

Actually.

The mind is resolute, and can only resist the Three Corpses, but cannot break through them.

Only when the primordial spirit is pure can one truly break free from the three corpses and get rid of them. The so-called "firm mind" is merely a requirement in the cultivation process.

Buddhism also has the saying, "When the mind arises, all kinds of demons arise; when the mind ceases, all kinds of demons cease," which corresponds to the Taoist concept of the purity of the primordial spirit.

For example, Zhang Zhiwei ignored the Corpse Demon's three corpses in the original work. It wasn't that he didn't have three corpses, but rather that Tu Junfang's realm was too far behind Zhang Zhiwei's, and he couldn't shake Zhang Zhiwei's mindset at all, so it presented the illusion that Zhang Zhiwei had already severed his three corpses.

If the mind of an ordinary person is like a strand of hair, then the mind of Zhang Zhiwei is like a steel bar. Trying to shake his mind with ordinary means is like trying to cut a steel bar with a strand of hair, which is nothing short of a fool's dream.

Severing the Three Corpses?

As long as Zhang Zhiwei remains in the human world, he will be troubled by worldly affairs, and his primordial spirit will not be truly purified. The Three Corpses will always accompany his body and mind. However, because his mind is firm and his will is strong, he can resist external temptations, so the influence of the Three Corpses on him can be ignored.

otherwise.

Why did he hold the Luo Tian Grand Ceremony to involve Zhang Chulan?

There is still something to be desired.

Moreover, this request is not for spiritual practice, but for another purpose!

Tu Junfang's three corpses naturally cannot affect Jiang Liu's temperament, but if he takes the initiative to open them, he can also actively mobilize his three poisons and three corpses of greed, anger, and ignorance.

With his innate ability to become a god, Jiang Liu once again separated a part of his soul and spirit and combined it with the Three Corpses to form the Three Corpse Gods: Upper Corpse Peng Ju, Middle Corpse Peng Zhi, and Lower Corpse Peng Qiao.

The Three Corpses should have been eliminated, so why were they conferred the title of deities?

It is:

The Three Corpses are originally formless; they arise from delusions in the mind.

When the mind is pure, the three poisons vanish; the Dao is found in a single thought.

In short, the Three Corpses are simply one's own thoughts, illusions and bubbles, which remain in the heart and are difficult to eradicate only because of attachment.

Severing the three corpses is not difficult, only three steps—

The first step is to understand what your own three corpses are.

If a person doesn't even know the specific appearance of their own three corpses, how can they talk about eliminating them?

The second step, after recognizing something, is to understand it.

Only by clearly recognizing what one seeks, desires, and hates can one address the root cause. Otherwise, simply cultivating one's mind and nature may prevent one from being swayed by external things, but it ultimately fails to truly understand the specifics of one's own "three corpses," thus leaving one's mental state incomplete.

Let's take the elderly Zhang Zhiwei from the original story as an example. If Wang Ye hadn't gotten involved, there might have been a one in ten thousand chance that he would have disregarded his reputation and secretly plotted against the younger Zhuge Qing...

Is it possible to be troubled by this, or to eliminate one's own three corpses?

The final third step is to "reconcile" with one's own three corpses, that is, to completely integrate the three corpses into one's own spirit and confront one's own greed, anger and ignorance.

Jiang Liu remembered that the *Taishang Sanshi Zhongjing* from his previous life stated:

"When people are born, they all take shape in their parents' womb and are nourished by the essence of the five grains. Therefore, each person has three corpses and nine worms in their belly, which are a great harm to people."

On the day of Gengshen, they would report to the Heavenly Emperor to record people's sins, noting down every single detail.

They wish to sever one's place in the human register, reduce one's lifespan, and hasten one's death.

After death, the soul ascends to heaven, the spirit enters the earth, and only the three corpses roam, which are called ghosts.

"If sacrifices are performed improperly during the four seasons and eight festivals, it will bring disaster, causing all kinds of diseases to arise and even taking lives."

In short, according to this concept, the Three Corpses are overseers sent down by Heaven. Every year on a Gengshen day, they go to Heaven to report all of a person's sins to the Jade Emperor, seeking judgment and a swift death for them.

Therefore, in his previous life, Jiang Liu also had a very famous method of severing the three corpses, which was to meditate and regulate his breathing without sleep on the day of Gengshen, so that the three corpse gods in his body could not appeal to the Jade Emperor.

Setting aside the legendary aspects, the true meaning of spiritual practice is that the physical and mental states of a person are combined to form the three realms of the human body. When the human mind gives rise to thoughts of greed, anger, and ignorance, which it cannot recognize or understand, every two months, these thoughts accumulate and eventually lead to "thoughts that arise at night and dreams that appear in the inner realm." These dreams are illusions and bubbles, yet they torment the mind and make it difficult to find peace.

Therefore, on the Gengshen day, one needs to regulate breathing and meditate to purify the spirit.

However, breaking free from the Three Corpses is not something that can be achieved simply by sitting in meditation.

The more you think about it, the more deeply rooted the Three Corpses become.

Only by acknowledging the existence of the Three Corpses, completely integrating them into oneself, and accepting one's own greed, anger, and ignorance can one not only be freed from the torment of the Three Corpses, but also make them a driving force for the continuous advancement of one's will.

Within Jiang Liuxin's mind, heaven and earth had already been created, receiving the radiance of the two great spiritual realms of heaven and earth, and the prototypes of the Heavenly Court and the Underworld had been established.

It is almost identical to the description in the "Taishang Sanshi Zhongjing". One takes oneself as the Three Realms, and confers the title of the Three Corpses as deities. One internally cultivates greed, anger and ignorance, and monitors the body and mind. Originally there is nothing, so where can dust settle? This realm is too far away, and Jiang Liu does not dare to aspire to it. Now he can only ask to constantly wipe away the dust and not let it settle, so as to increase his wisdom and clear his mind. Externally, he controls the Three Corpse Gods. All thoughts of greed, anger and ignorance can be aroused and used by them.

No matter how eloquently Jiang Liu spoke, Zhang Zhiwei's decision regarding Tu Junfang remained the same:

kill!

Therefore.

Tu Junfang was also the first of the three to be eliminated.

"You really know how to waste good things!"

Jiang Liu complained, "Of the three, I took special care of him, except that I didn't destroy his meridians."

“My disciples are not as good as you. If you really do that, they will all be ruined!” Zhang Zhiwei was speechless. Then he walked up to Gong Qing and asked, “You’ve been hiding in Longhu Mountain for so long. Didn’t you ever think about hiding any longer? Even if I knew you were from Quanxing, I wouldn’t care if you hid for the rest of your life.”

"Old Celestial Master, everyone has their own pursuits, don't you?" Gong Qing's limbs were broken, and he didn't even have the strength to get up, but his expression remained calm.

"Yes."

Zhang Zhiwei nodded, then struck down with his palm, killing Gong Qing on the spot.

decisive!

As expected of the Old Celestial Master!

"Not telling your junior brother?" Jiang Liu asked in surprise.

“My master, Zhang Jingqing, did not want him to reveal the secret, nor did he want him to be tormented for the rest of his life because of it.”

“Cultivation… is not done this way.”

Zhang Zhiwei summoned his disciples to collect Gong Qing's body and ordered them not to reveal that Gong Qing was dead, or they would be expelled from Longhu Mountain. "Perhaps this will be the beginning of his true cultivation of mind and nature."
