Guanyin Bodhisattva has two names.

One is Guanyin, and the other is Avalokiteshvara.

Guanyin emphasizes the compassion of hearing the cries of suffering and relieving them from pain;

Avalokitesvara emphasizes the attainment of perfect Prajna wisdom through self-cultivation.

The former is to cultivate a skill, an attitude towards life, and an eternal endeavor that requires one to practice it personally.

The latter is a method of spiritual practice, a state of perfect wisdom.

The Heart Sutra begins by saying:

When Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva was practicing the profound Prajnaparamita, he perceived that the five aggregates are all empty.

Therefore, the highest level of contemplation is "contemplation of self-existence," which involves observing one's own mind, verifying the true nature of reality, and attaining the emptiness of the five aggregates.

At this moment, Jiang Liu used the method of "Guanyin" to introspect on the scenery of his own body and mind, and to verify the true nature of the Three Realms and Nine Lands. The great dragon of his spine trembled slightly, and the pagodas of the heavens in his mind shone brightly. The rhythm permeated all 84,000 pores of his body, and the light shone on the 84,000 pores of his mind.

In the three realms of human existence, among countless thoughts, there is one person who is the manifestation of Jiang Liu's thought of "observing self-existence." He has some enlightenment, leaves home to follow Jiang Liu's desires and cultivates. In one thought, he awakens and understands the word "observation," thus realizing "self-existence."

Because it was originally Jiang Liu's thought, upon awakening, it did not ascend to become a primordial spirit, but instead merged with Jiang Liu's mind, helping Jiang Liu observe the six senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and thought), thus gaining the innate ability of being granted godhood, yet it was not officially appointed as a deity...

He then manifested into thirty-three incarnations, twenty-four of which entered the Twenty-Four Heavenly Pagodas and practiced the Heart Sutra with the river, seeking to transform the five aggregates of form, feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness into the five wisdoms: the Great Mirror Wisdom, the Wisdom of Equality, the Wisdom of Wonderful Observation, the Wisdom of Accomplishment, and the Wisdom of the Nature of the Dharmadhatu.

The remaining nine incarnations merged into one, forming the appearance of a woman, dressed in white, seated on a white lotus, pure and natural, with a compassionate countenance, listening to the sounds of the mortal world in the three realms of human existence, relieving suffering and guiding those in confusion.

All living beings are me.

I am all living beings.

The salvation of the billions of people, demons, and ghosts in the three realms who are obsessed with the thoughts of the human body is the salvation of "I" myself.

Of the thirty-three forms of Guanyin, twenty-four are seated in the pagodas of the heavens, causing flower buds to bloom one after another. Guanyin is always at ease, illuminating eighty-four thousand apertures and bringing light to the human body and the great thousand worlds, waiting only to cultivate a sixteen-foot golden body.

The other nine incarnations merged into one Guanyin, who wished to guide the countless beings in the human world who were born from the many deluded thoughts, to awaken to the truth together, so that they might share in the glory or the loss of one!

One can obtain both Guanyin and Guanzi.

Nothing could be more perfect!

Why does Guanyin have thirty-three aspects?

This is because a person is born with thirty-three vertebrae: seven cervical vertebrae, twelve thoracic vertebrae, five lumbar vertebrae, five sacral vertebrae, and three coccygeal vertebrae.

As people grow up, the five sacral vertebrae fuse into one sacrum, and the three coccygeal vertebrae fuse into one coccyx. The sacrum corresponds to Mount Sumeru, while the coccyx is located at the bottom of the body, arching backward, with the pointed tail pointing forward. This corresponds to the heart and kidney water, confirming the heart and the kidney water, just like Guanyin supporting the lotus platform in the South China Sea.

Therefore, the twenty-four deities are Avalokiteshvara. Although they reside in the mind, they are closely connected to the twenty-four vertebrae of the spine in the body, helping Jiang Liu to practice the Avalokiteshvara method at all times.

The remaining nine incarnations merged into one, residing beneath Mount Sumeru, seated upon a white lotus, observing all beings in the three realms, relieving suffering and helping others to save themselves.

Previously, Jiang Liu had already integrated all his internal cultivation techniques into the "True and Wonderful Secret of the Perfect Union of Exoteric and Esoteric Teachings," which included the ability to circulate energy throughout the body, the method of riding the clouds and mist, an indestructible body, and a body that was impervious to all laws.

He's a master of one skill and can master all kinds of magic with ease; there's nothing he can't learn once he's seen it.

Furthermore, after constructing the Kunpeng Seal, the Fish-Dragon Seal, and the Serket Seal, he was able to completely integrate his abilities, achieving the great supernatural power of "Law of Heaven and Earth," and making this supernatural power more and more perfect!

However, this kind of self-cultivation method did not help him much in his practice of the Heart Sutra. Only by introspecting his own mind could he attain enlightenment!

"The Tao cultivates life and nature, and Zen proves the mind. Now my spiritual power has undergone a transformation, and I have actually gained the legendary 'eye of wisdom'."

Observing oneself is the method of wisdom!

Jiang Liu opened his eyes, his gaze flowing, his inner light radiant, reflecting billions of stars, converging into a Milky Way, yet flowing slowly, forming the shape of a blooming, pure white lotus.

It is:

Introspecting the mind and body brings freedom; outwardly observing the world cultivates wisdom.

When both inner and outer aspects are in harmony, one attains enlightenment and achieves the elixir of enlightenment.

Afterward, Jiang Liu calmed his mind, and the myriad stars in his eyes disappeared. But if one looked closely, one could see a lotus flower that was faintly visible in Jiang Liu's pupils. It had twenty-four petals, each reflecting the stars in the sky, as if the entire universe was reflected in it.

Afterwards, he put away the map of the Three Realms and Nine Lands, opened his wisdom eye, and looked towards a manor in the distance. He saw Manali and Cheng Xiabing sneaking in one after the other. The former found Ai Jun's room, while the latter quietly followed.

And what about Aijun?

Without the black cat's power, he naturally couldn't sleep soundly and wouldn't stay in his room...

# Chapter 784 Borrowing but Never Repaying
