In Tibetan Buddhism, the classification of the eyes is not much different from that in Han Buddhism; the eyes can be divided into six realms.
The first type is eyes with normal, ordinary vision;
The second type is called "Benmu," which refers to instinctive eyes. It is said that because these people are not corrupted by worldly affairs, their eyesight is better than that of normal people, and they have a keenness similar to that of wild animals. They can even be born with the ability to capture things that normal people cannot see.
For example, spirits and ghosts.
The third type is the "Heavenly Eye," which allows one to see the past, future, and many lifetimes of beings in both realms.
The fourth type is called "Dharma Eye," which is as sharp as the eyes of a Bodhisattva or Arhat, and can clearly see events from hundreds of kalpas ago and now.
The fifth type is the "sacred eye," which can clearly see events from tens of millions of kalpas ago and now;
The highest sixth realm is the "Buddha's Eye," which is boundless and can clearly see the eternity from beginning to end.
In addition, there is another type known as the Demon Eye, namely, the Boundless Demon Eye.
Legend has it that those who possess the Boundless Demon Eyes can "transform their realms," and like the "Buddha's Eyes," they are boundless and can make people disappear without a trace, as if they had never existed.
It can also inflict curses, meaning that anyone who has witnessed the "Transformation of Realms" ability will be branded with a mark on their eyes, become a slave, and die until their blood congeals.
In other words, in Tibetan Buddhist mythology, the demon eye is the counterpart to the Buddha eye!
The Buddha's vision is boundless!
The Demon Eye knows no bounds!
In Han Chinese Buddhism, the eye is classified into five levels: the physical eye, the divine eye, the wisdom eye, the Dharma eye, and the Buddha eye. This emphasizes the dialectic between inner and outer perception, and the cultivation of oneself (inner insight) and external practice (outer observation of the world), unlike Tibetan Buddhism where the distinction between the divine eye, Dharma eye, and holy eye is based solely on the duration of vision.
Frankly, this is more like a "bragging" that keeps piling up numbers on a time scale.
Furthermore.
Simply accumulating numbers without taking any real action will render the so-called "Dharma Eye" or "Sacred Eye" meaningless.
"I have been circling the mountains and lakes, contemplating nature for many years, and have developed my special eyes. My pupils are deep and I can see things that ordinary people cannot see."
The silver-eyed nun sighed.
"So, we people with eyeball-shaped marks are slaves of the Demon Kingdom?"
The old foreigner was somewhat agitated.
Their ancestors, the Zaglama tribe, did indeed contract the Red Spot Curse after migrating to the Zaglama Mountains and entering the Bottomless Ghost Cave.
But that doesn't mean they are slaves of the Demon Kingdom!
"Don't get excited, old foreigner."
Partridge Whistle pulled the old foreigner back to his feet, who had just stood up excitedly.
Hua Ling then asked the Silver-Eyed Nun, "Our ancestors migrated to the vicinity of that bottomless pit during the Yin and Shang dynasties. They created a jade stone engraved with an eyeball for sacrifice, and then they were cursed... The clan's prophet learned through a divination that we needed to go to the Central Plains to find the true pearl, so our Zaglama clan migrated to the Central Plains..."
"To communicate with the ghost cave without using the real snake's eyes is blasphemy against the snake god, and will naturally be branded."
The silver-eyed nun sighed, then seemed to remember something and continued, "You said that your ancestors used a jade eye to replace a real snake eye?"
Partridge Whistle: "Yes, what's wrong?"
Silver-Eyed Nun: "Did your ancestors take that jade eye with them before they left the Ghost Cave?"
Partridge Whistle: "No."
"That involves the history of the ancient Jingjue Kingdom."
Silver-eyed nun scrutinized Partridge Whistle, Old Foreigner, and Flower Spirit, a strange look appearing in her eyes. "After the first Ghost Mother of the Demon Kingdom died, her body crystallized and she was buried in the Nine-Layered Demon Tower in Kunlun. In order to ensure the rule of the Demon Kingdom, the priests would select girls with naturally keen eyes to train. The specific method has long been lost, but the new Ghost Mother will be selected from the girls who show 'ghost eyes', while the other girls will be sacrificed as offerings."
According to legend, the resentment and grievances of the dead girls lingered and coalesced on a Buddha statue within the Great Black Thunder Mountain in the Demon Kingdom. When these resentments reached a certain point, they erupted, sweeping through the Demon Kingdom's capital, Eroha City, and sinking it to the bottom of a lake.
The remnants of the Demon Kingdom are mainly divided into two groups.
A tribe, known as the Ghost Cave Clan, returned to their homeland, the Zagrama Mountains, and found a jade eye within the Ghost Cave… As descendants of the Demon Kingdom, they knew the correct sacrificial rituals. Using the fake eye, they could directly contact the Ghost Cave, which had been abandoned by the Serpent God but still retained some of its power. They could thus draw upon the Ghost Cave's power, but couldn't truly unleash the ability of 'Transformation of Realms'. Nevertheless, they still ruled over a considerable territory, establishing a theocratic kingdom, and then—
Because of her excessively cruel rule, she was eventually rebelled against by her vassal states, who plotted to poison the last queen of Jingjue.
When the Queen of Jingjue died, leaving no successor, the ancient kingdom of Jingjue naturally vanished from history, never to see the light of day again.
Partridge Whistle and the others suddenly realized that the jade eye made by their ancestors was actually connected with the ancient Jingjue Kingdom.
"What about the Samsara Sect?"
Hua Ling pressed for an answer.
"Those are the remnants of another demon kingdom who established the Samsara sect in Tibet. The Guge Kingdom was based on the Samsara sect and was a religious kingdom."
Silver-eyed nun's gaze grew even deeper, her tone low and melancholic, "But unfortunately, perhaps they offended the Serpent God, causing the 100,000 people in the royal city, from the monks of the Samsara Sect to ordinary civilians, to all disappear without a trace!"
The remaining people either fled or scattered, and those who survived dared not mention that period of history again, to the point that they gradually forgot it.
Only a small number of monks who practiced asceticism outside the capital, before their deaths, compiled all of history into popular poems that have been passed down to this day. I am merely translating the corresponding poems into language you can understand.
# Chapter 1005 The Six-Syllable Mantra
After learning about the intertwined history of the Demon Kingdom, the Jingjue Ancient Kingdom, the Reincarnation Sect, and the Guge Dynasty established by the Reincarnation Sect, Zhang Zhiwei stroked his chin thoughtfully and said, "Did everything originate from an ancient beast and the eyeballs on its head?"
"It's the Serpent God!"
Upon hearing the words "beast," the silver-eyed nun seemed indignant, but the feeling vanished in an instant. She then said, "Although the Demon Kingdom, the Jingjue Ancient Kingdom, and the Samsara Sect all suppress their surroundings with force and obtain power from the Snake God, the Snake God himself is innocent."
The crowd remained noncommittal.
Lu Jin then pressed on, "Old nun, if we enter the ruins of the Kunlun Demon Kingdom, is there any way to avoid the curse?"
"No."
The silver-eyed nun's gaze deepened as she countered, "Aren't all of you here to lift the curse?"
"No, the three of us have come here for two purposes: one is to lift the curse on our friend, and the other is to exorcise demons."
Jiang Liu pointed to Lu Jin, Zhang Zhiwei, and himself, "It's not good for that snake god to remain in the world; it's best to completely eradicate it."
"..."
The nun with silver eyes was silent for a moment, but then she was overjoyed and said excitedly, "Then I will be your guide! To tell you the truth, the founder of my Silver Eye Temple was a nun of the Samsara Sect. Over time, we also felt that the snake god was an evil god, a wicked god, and that its existence in the world would ultimately be a scourge."
After saying this, she got up, left the living room, and summoned the lamas and nuns in the temple to prepare the items needed for the long journey.
During this time, Jiang Liu said to Zhang Zhiwei and Lu Jin, "This silver-eyed nun is problematic. She said the snake god was innocent before, but now she says she wants to go with us to subdue demons. Her attitude has changed too much."
Everyone nodded in agreement.
If it were just an ordinary elderly person, it would be understandable. After all, they are old, and it's not uncommon for their memory to decline and their speech to become incoherent.
But this silver-eyed nun was clearly a cultivator. Although her cultivation was weak, her realm was not low. A person who could cultivate such profound eyes could not possibly be an old and blind person.
Therefore, Jiang Liu planned to send Zhang Zhiwei and Lu Jin to the ruins of the Guge Kingdom to look for relevant clues and items.
The two nodded, and without further ado, one leaped up in golden light, the other soared into the sky, heading towards the coordinates of the Guge Kingdom given by Jiang Liu.
After landing, looking into the distance, Zhang Zhiwei saw a hillside about 300 meters high, covered with dilapidated buildings and caves.
A gust of wind blew, stirring up several swirling eddies of yellow sand, which, against the backdrop of the blue sky, presented a somewhat desolate scene.
“Built against the mountain... If that nun didn’t hide it, then the Samsara Sect might really be the remnants of the Demon Kingdom, a people who gained power from the bottomless pit. Their culture must also be related to the ‘ghost cave,’ which is reflected in their architecture by digging caves in the mountains,” Lu Jin speculated.
"Wow, Lu Jin, you really have some insights into ancient civilizations."
Zhang Zhiwei was surprised, "I didn't see anything at all."
“Of course, I studied history abroad. Although it’s Egyptian history, some aspects of ancient civilizations are interconnected.” Lu Jinsheng felt a hint of pride, but he quickly calmed down, then used his Qi to fly up the mountain on a cloud.
Zhang Zhiwei followed, radiating golden light.
For an ordinary person, given the already high altitude of the place and the 300-meter-high mountain to climb, it would be considered a great achievement to be able to climb up in half a day.
However, Lu Jin and Zhang Zhiwei were both cultivators, with profound aura and abundant Qi. They could transform Qi and leap, reaching the mountaintop in an instant.
At the top is a temple, divided into inner and outer sections. The outer section is the Dharma Protector Temple, and the inner section is the Reincarnation Temple.
Upon entering the Hufa Temple, one is immediately struck by the murals on the walls, depicting naked men and women engaging in tantric practices. The vibrant colors are captivating.
Zhang Zhiwei looked on with a critical eye, muttering to himself, "No wonder they're Tibetan monks, they're really quite open-minded!"
But to be honest, this kind of thing shouldn't be displayed in the open.
I keep all the lights off.
Hearing Zhang Zhiwei say this, Lu Jin narrowed his eyes and smiled, "Brother Zhiwei is quite a man of character."
"Please, my Celestial Master's Mansion doesn't forbid marriage like the Quanzhen Sect does." Zhang Zhiwei shrugged, looked away, and continued forward.
After walking for a while, the style of the murals on the wall suddenly changed, and the content changed from the pleasures of men and women to the various sufferings of people in hell.
Zhang Zhiwei only glanced at it and didn't pay much attention to it.
Without him.
Since hell is on earth, these murals that serve as warnings to others have no other purpose than to offer some comfort to honest people who already follow the rules.
That's why we need to completely transform this world!
Seeing these scenes of hellish suffering, and recalling the previous scenes of male-female dual cultivation, Lu Jin gained a deeper understanding of the three magical treasures Jiang Liu possessed: the Golden Bell, the Wolf Fang Mace, and the Human Seed Bag.
It is a tool that drives the cycle of reincarnation, but it is also a magic weapon to escape the cycle of reincarnation!
According to the order in which Sun Wukong came into contact with these three magical treasures in "Journey to the West," he first entered the Golden Bell, then fought with the Wolf Fang Cudgel, and finally was trapped in the Human Seed Bag. This is a "reverse use," which is used to make the "Mind Monkey" completely jump out of the cycle of reincarnation.
Therefore, using it in reverse can break free from the cycle of reincarnation, while using it in accordance with the natural order will lead to being trapped in the cycle of reincarnation.
But at that time, Brother Jiang, combining the aura of the "Nine-Grade Lotus Flower," said that only by using it in accordance with the natural order can one achieve inner peace and escape the cycle of reincarnation, while using it against the natural order will cause one to sink into the cycle of reincarnation until one is doomed to eternal damnation.
He didn't quite understand it before, but now he has figured it out. Combined with what he has seen and heard about the "Adventures of Little Jade" in China, he now understands it all.
The world will change!
Ancient times!
Practitioners who blindly pursue "ignorance" are ultimately just engaging in empty talk; how can they truly escape the cycle of reincarnation?
If you can't even endure the suffering of this world, how can you talk about transcending it?
future!
To attain enlightenment, one must actively promote reincarnation and continuously climb the ladder of spiritual progress while still in the human realm.
