Upon hearing about Dili Chui's past, Zhang Qianzhi trembled. He recalled how he used to judge people by their appearance when he was a fortune teller. If he thought someone had a fierce face, he would just keep deceiving them and completely ignore the possibility that the other person could "turn over a new leaf". He immediately bowed to Dili Chui.

"Brother, what are you doing?" Dili Chui hurriedly went to help, but because of his short stature, even with his arms raised, he could only just reach Zhang Qianzhi's bent hands.

“In the past, when I was a fortune teller, I really only judged people by their appearance, and I don’t know how many people I harmed… If I hadn’t met the Earth-Kicking Hermit today, I might still be doing the same thing.”

Zhang Qian, upon learning the reason, looked ashamed and said, "I am grateful for the layman's guidance."

“Brother Zhang, what nonsense are you talking about? How did I help you? Even if I did help you, you should thank the chairman! The chairman is all-powerful and must have seen through this at a glance, which is why he let me go on stage.”

Dili Chuan didn't understand Zhang Qianzhi's problem, but he was certain that the other party could recognize his own problem. This was not due to Dili Chuan's efforts, but rather because the chairman had keen insight and took advantage of the situation to use Dili Chuan to enlighten Zhang Qianzhi's behavior.

off the field.

Zhang Jingqing's ears twitched slightly as she overheard the whispers between Dili Chui and Zhang Qianzhi. She asked, "President Jiang, did you really see through Zhang Qianzhi's tendency to judge people by their appearance?"

"Look at what you're saying, Celestial Master. I'm not an omniscient being, how would I know what problems Zhang Qianzhi has encountered in his cultivation?"

Jiang Liu denied it, only sighing, "To be honest, Liu Wei and Dili Chui were just people I used to make up the numbers. I never expected Dili Chui to actually win. If they keep winning... won't the Celestial Master think I'm here to challenge them?"

In an instant.

Zhang Jingqing's face was ashen, and she said in a low voice, "No! Of course not! We, Zheng Yi, are not sore losers!"

# Chapter 1093 The Four Emperors and the Four Truths

The second match has ended.

The third match begins.

This time, the one appearing in the Zhengyi sect is Zhu Wenwu from the Northern Emperor faction.

"Don't lose!"

This time, the Confucian Association is having a live monkey competition.

When Dili Chui returned to the team, he gave Saihuohou a high five and said with a grin, "If you lose, I'll be the older brother and you'll be the younger brother."

"Screw you!"

Sai Huohou entered the arena, exchanged names with Zhu Wenwu, and then the competition began, which turned into a chase:

But we see:

This lively monkey was incredibly agile. It fled before, then soared into the sky. Its feet clad in iron boots, its hands wielding a rainbow of swords. The crowd gasped in astonishment, and even the civil and military officials were roused from their limbs.

That Taoist priest, skilled in both literature and martial arts, chanted incantations and performed hand gestures, his Heavenly Canopy Mantra resounding. The Nine Stars of the Big Dipper, their assistants, embraced him. The Nine Emperor Gods were revered, and the Five Thunderbolts Dharma flourished!

In a short while, Saihuohou was struck by the lightning, fell to the ground from mid-air, spewing black smoke and his skin charred black, and was no longer able to fight.

The Northern Emperor Sect reveres the Great Emperor of the North Pole Ziwei, and their cultivation method is called the Tianpeng Mantra. It takes the Nine Stars of the Big Dipper as its core, which are the seven stars of the Big Dipper: Tanlang, Jumen, Lucun, Wenqu, Lianzhen, Wuqu, and Pojun, plus the Left Assistant Gouchen Heavenly Emperor and the Right Assistant Great Emperor of the North Pole Ziwei.

Whether in cultivation or in battle, the Taoists of the Northern Emperor Sect can use the power of the Nine Stars of the Big Dipper to enhance their strength.

And what about the live monkey?

Although he could fly by using the art of manipulating objects, and had also learned the art of throwing knives from Miss Hong in recent years, and had crafted three throwing knives as ranged weapons, his cultivation level was still inferior to Zhu Wenwu's.

He won by kicking Zhang Qianzhi into the ground, making it impossible for him to breathe.

Would it be effective for a live monkey to take Zhu Wenwu to the sky?

therefore.

As soon as he entered the arena, Sai Huohou was determined to wage a "war of attrition." However, Zhu Wenwu was able to borrow the power of the Nine Stars of the Big Dipper and was unwilling to waste time. In addition, Zhang Qianzhi had been careless before, which led to him being pulled underground. This made him extra vigilant. As soon as he entered the arena, he went all out and did not dare to be negligent in the slightest.

Although the monkey race was lost, Jiang Liu, who was off the field, gained some insignificant benefits.

Since his trip to Tibet, in addition to cultivating a sixteen-foot-tall body, Jiang Liu's body, when controlled by the first generation Jiang Liu, also obtained the Daoist essence of the Four Symbols. After being completed, Jiang Liu's control over the Zhou Tian Xing Su fire was also completely completed.

After witnessing the Tianpeng Mantra of the Northern Emperor Sect based on the Nine Stars of the Big Dipper, I suddenly realized that my mind was not perfect except for the two celestial and terrestrial deities, Huangtian and Houtu. The world needed four more great emperors to assist in the further improvement of the human body and the three realms, so that the sacred embryo could become more and more perfect.

Taoism happens to have six emperors!

The Jade Emperor, who rules over all heavens and the Golden Palace of the Azure Heaven.

The Great Emperor of the Western Taiji, who rules over all thunder.

The Great Emperor Ziwei, who rules over all the stars in the North Pole of the Heavenly Realm.

The Great Emperor Miaoyan Qinghua, who rules over all things in the East.

The Great Emperor of Longevity in the Southern Antarctic, who rules over all spirits.

The Earth God, who rules over all lands and emulates the Heavenly Emperor, is the sovereign of the Earth.

Among them, the Jade Emperor of the Golden Palace of the Vast Heaven and the Earth Goddess who follow the example of Heaven have been conferred titles by Jiang Liu, corresponding to the brain and the six internal organs respectively.

The other four emperors—

Within Taoism, due to different sects, the deities revered by Taoists also differ... Therefore, in terms of mythological systems, the myths and legends of various Taoist sects are quite chaotic, each with its own revered deities, each believing itself to be the most powerful, resulting in an incomplete system.

Just like the Northern Emperor faction, they only venerate the Nine Stars of the Big Dipper, and regard the Great Emperor of the North Pole as the most revered.

Jade Emperor?

At least within the Northern Emperor faction, no such god exists.

In this time and space, the Six Emperors first appeared in the Tang Dynasty's "Lingbao Wuliang Duren Shangpin Miaojing". However, as time went by, in order to conform to the Taoist classification of the "Four Assistants" of Taiqing, Taiping, Taixuan and Zhengyi, the Song Dynasty removed the Jade Emperor and the Qinghua Emperor, thus evolving into the Four Emperors: Ziwei, Changsheng, Tianhuang and Houtu.

Of course, the Jade Emperor and the Qinghua Emperor did not disappear. Some Taoist temples of the Zhengyi and Quanzhen schools only worship the Jade Emperor or the Qinghua Emperor.

Just as the core of the Northern Emperor faction is the Great Emperor of the North Pole Ziwei.

Therefore, Jiang Liu didn't care whether the Taoist sects present considered the Four Emperors to be the orthodox ones in the realm of deities, or whether they only revered the Jade Emperor, the Qinghua Emperor, or the like. He simply used the name of the Four Emperors, his innate ability—the Conferring of Gods—combined with the Four Symbols Taoist Rhyme within him, and combined with a part of his own soul and mind, to confer the titles upon the Four Emperors.

The Great Emperor of the Eastern Extreme Wonderful Azure Flower transformed into an Azure Dragon Elephant;

The Great Emperor of the Western Taiji Heavenly Emperor, in the form of a white tiger;

The Longevity Emperor of the Southern Antarctic is represented by the Vermilion Bird.

The Great Emperor of the North Pole of the Central Heaven, Ziwei, is the image of the Black Tortoise;

Together they assist the Jade Emperor in commanding the star gods of the four directions—east, west, south, and north—to form the Great Celestial Array, constantly assisting Jiang Liu in the movement of the myriad stars in the universe, and also accelerating his own attraction to the power of the stars.

Why does the Great Emperor of the North Pole, Ziwei, also have the prefix "Zhongtian"?

In reality, there are two main reasons.

Firstly, when observing stars from Earth, the North Star is located at the very center of the celestial sphere, which is an objective factor that no one can deny.

Secondly, it was largely influenced by the ancients' concept of "north as the center" derived from the idea that China was the center of the world, which was based on the Big Dipper for locating the north.

It is precisely because of these two factors that different schools of Taoism may have different understandings of the Four Emperors and the Six Emperors.

However, if these four emperors are mapped to acupoints and nerve nodes in the human body, Jiang Liu was surprised to find, after bestowing titles upon them, that "Zhongtian" might have another meaning—

North is the greatest, center is the most upright, and heaven is the most honorable.

The six sense organs are used as an analogy for the entire human nervous system:

The Jade Emperor of the Golden Palace in the Azure Heaven is the brain;

The Earth God, who inherits the Heavenly Law, possesses great virtue and shines brightly, is the six internal organs, mainly the nerve tissue of the stomach and intestines.

The other four correspond to acupoints and nerve nodes related to the five internal organs, muscles, bones, skin, and flesh.

Among them, the Great Emperor of the North Pole of the Central Heaven corresponds to the spinal nerve that runs through the upper and lower body!

Besides assisting the Jade Emperor in governing the celestial constellations, acupoints, nerve nodes, and the entire human nervous system, these four emperors have other responsibilities... At least the Great Emperor of the North Pole in the Central Heaven, corresponding to the nerves of the spinal cord, should be responsible for commanding the four seasons and six qi.

Therefore, after the imperial decree was completed, Jiang Liu sent these four emperors into reincarnation to cultivate for several "lifetimes." This was both to familiarize them with the individual and coordinated functions of their acupoints and nerve nodes in the "human world" and to allow them to experience the Four Noble Truths of Buddhism.

What are the Four Noble Truths?

Suffering, origination, cessation, and the path.

The Truth of Suffering: Buddhism believes that human beings are born into suffering and must endure eight kinds of suffering, including birth, old age, sickness, and death. Even mountains and rivers are subject to this.

The Truth of the Origin of Suffering reveals that the root of suffering lies in ignorance and the three poisons of greed, anger, and delusion.

Because of ignorance, one enters the womb, which then gives rise to desires and attachments, leading to the creation of karma and the suffering of the cycle of birth and death.

The cessation of suffering, or the extinction of suffering, is the attainment of a state of tranquility and liberation by extinguishing greed, anger, and ignorance, and by cutting off desire and craving for the five aggregates.

The Path of Truth is the practice of the Cessation of All Things.

The main practice is the Eightfold Path, namely, right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration.

Through the practice of the three disciplines of morality, concentration, and wisdom, one can transcend the sea of suffering and attain Nirvana.

The Buddhist path to Nirvana is nothing more than this.

Jiang Liu's understanding is different. He does not believe that life is inherently suffering, but rather that it is about experiencing all the emotions in the world, thereby seeing oneself, seeing all living beings, and ultimately bringing civilization to the years.

But all sentient beings in the three realms of body, mind, and spirit are merely thoughts flowing in the river, and ultimately all will return to him.

Therefore, Jiang Liu believes that this system of the Four Noble Truths is of little benefit to the development of real society, but it has a significant effect on the purity of one's thoughts.

Furthermore, this is also an attempt and practice of Jiang Liu's cultivation method combining form and appearance, to see if the Four Emperors can demonstrate the convergence of Taoism and Buddhism during their "descendant" trials...

# Chapter 1094: Except for Maoshan, all others are unsuitable

"You flatter me, Master Saihuohou."

Zhu Wenwu was unaware that Jiang Liu, inspired by his Tianpeng Mantra, had used the Daoist Rhyme of the Four Symbols to confer the Four Emperors, further perfecting the Dao of the Golden Elixir and Sacred Embryo. He simply helped up the charred monkey and said apologetically, "But don't worry, I didn't use the real Five Thunder Orthodox Method. He will fully recover in two or three days."

"Thank you for your mercy, Master Zhu."

Saihuo Monkey was a bit impulsive, but he knew his place and thanked them with clasped hands.

Only three matches are played per day.

That concludes today's exchange.

The Confucian gathering is superior to the single one.

One can defeat two.

Although the Zhengyi sect had the upper hand, the prejudices of the Taoists and disciples of the various Zhengyi sects against the Confucian Society group changed slightly. They realized that the Confucian Society group was not really there to suppress the Zhengyi lineage. Therefore, in the afternoon, apart from the Maoshan disciples, the disciples of other Taoist sects also took the initiative to approach them.
