"You really do have incredibly powerful connections everywhere you go. Is the Water God your friend too?" Hu Tao handed the golden disc back to Yun Xiu: "How should we deliver this to Qi Xing? Should we fly back?"

"Need not."

Yunxiu smiled, and with a flash of spiritual light in her hand, a spatial rift opened up before her eyes. It was very small, but she could vaguely see the table on the other side, which was Tian Shu Xing's office. Her father was working there and looked at the small rift in front of him in surprise.

With a flick of her finger, she sent the golden disc through the crack, which then disappeared. Yunxiu quickly took out her spiritual terminal and sent a message to her father, explaining the usage and specifics of the Eight Gates and Seven Gates Formation. Tian Shu, naturally aware of the importance of this matter, immediately replied that he would meet with Qi Xing to expedite its implementation.

"Wow...that's amazing! How did you do that?" Hu Tao exclaimed, her eyes wide with surprise. "Could you teach me?"

“I can teach you, but you might not be able to learn it,” Yunxiu said with a smile. “Let’s go to Fontaine first.”

After saying that, he picked up Hu Tao as if it were a familiar task, and with a flash of wind elemental light behind him, he rushed straight towards Fontaine.

This spell is a variant of the [Gateway] spell in the ninth-ring spellcasting system. The space in Teyvat is not stable enough, and the False Heaven is too thick, making it difficult to use the Gateway. In addition, teleportation itself will violently tear space apart. Therefore, long-distance teleportation in Teyvat is not only extremely costly, but also requires the assistance of a magic circle.

Only legendary-level archmages specializing in conjuration can barely use teleportation, and even then, it's not always very effective.

This results in extremely high construction and usage costs for teleportation arrays. So, unless transporting large quantities of supplies, even a legendary archmage like Alice prefers to fly herself most of the time.

Yunxiu's move just now seemed simple, as he only threw a golden disc, but it was actually the highest achievement of his magic at this stage. It was a legendary space teleportation developed by combining a series of legendary spells such as legendary space gate, legendary wish spell, and legendary precognition spell.

Even someone as powerful as him hesitated to open a door just to let someone pass through; simply passing something would have been much easier.

Hu Tao didn't really want to learn; she was just genuinely interested. Or rather, there weren't many things Hu Tao wasn't interested in...

Yunxiu flew directly from Chenyu Valley to Fontaine. He knew very well that Funina was usually at the Opicclay Opera House, so he brought Hu Tao directly there. The person at the door, Melusin, was very familiar with this water god and Navelette's friend. He just had Hu Tao register and then let the two of them in.

However, Frynn was not on her familiar throne, nor was Navilette on her judgment seat; on the stage of the Opiclie Opera, an opera was being performed.

On the stage of the opera house, a body of water shrouded in twilight was projected, and grand and clear string music resonated throughout the opera house, while the figures on the stage were giving their all in their performances.

“This opera is…” Yun Xiuzai listened carefully for a while before softly saying, “It’s the story of ‘The Daughter of Water’.”

"The Daughter of Water? This story is..."

"The water sprite Corio transformed into a human and lived happily with her lover in a small town."

"But due to long-term pollution and reckless use by humans, the freshwater seems to have developed a consciousness and left the town."

"Corio is a pure water spirit, so she naturally knows what water thinks. So she told her lover all this and about her identity. Her lover accepted her, and the two of them worked together to find a way to save the town."

"However... this news was overheard, and Corio was considered the culprit for taking away the fresh water, ultimately putting himself in a dilemma."

"Her lover was arrested and was about to be executed when Corio appeared and sacrificed himself to become a spring, saving her lover and humanity."

"And in the end, Corio received the favor of the gods... of course, that's just in the story."

Hu Tao fell silent. As she watched the figures on the stage singing and chanting, pouring out all their emotions, she tugged at Yunxiu's sleeve and asked, "If it's like this in the story, what would it be like in reality?"

"Hmm... let me tell you a story."

Yunxiu and Hutao quietly squatted in a corner of the opera house. Yunxiu told Hutao everything she had seen in her previous life: Fenina's five hundred years of suffering, Fukaros's sacrifice in her last dance, the pressure and performances she had endured for five hundred years, and the story behind it all, all using pseudonyms.

He succeeded the water god after the death of the deity.

Because of human existence, we seek a path.

Suffering from the watchful gaze of Heaven.

Sacrificing oneself for the redemption of sin.

Ultimately, the dance that shook the entire Teyvat brought everything to a close, burying everything in the primordial ocean of life.

On stage, the performance finally reached its climax. Corio's lover was captured, and people, while holding onto his body, anxiously looked around and shouted, "Is she here! When will she come?"

Collio's lover shouted, "She won't come!"

"No...she's here..."

Gently, Funina stepped onto the stage, but to everyone's surprise, Funina, who usually wore ordinary dresses, was wearing a magnificent robe symbolizing the water goddess today.

Everyone was so shocked they were speechless, even those who had been fervently advocating for Funina to succeed as the Water Goddess. Although Funina had always been the acting Water Goddess, she had never stood here with such solemnity and seriousness as she did today.

Seeing the murmuring expressions on the faces of the crowd below, she didn't sing. Instead, she quietly glanced around and waited until everyone fell silent before speaking: "Lady Egolia has not passed away, but she has gone into the embrace of the Primordial Sea of the Dead... at least temporarily leaving us."

“I could have been freed from the shackles of original sin, but… I cannot belittle the dignity of ‘justice,’ so I have decided to stand here.”

"If someone truly has to put an end to Lady Agoria's era, then let me, Fucaros, deliver the final blow to the old era!"

"People of Fontaine, cheer for me! I, Fucarus, Frinina de Fontaine, 'Queen of Waters, Directions, People, and Laws,' will succeed as one of the Seven Rulers of the Mortal World and continue to lead Fontaine forward!"

A silence fell over the Opiclie Opera House. Everyone had an eager look on their faces, but no one spoke. They all scanned each other's faces.

"Lady Funina, I believe you!" The first to speak up was actually Kurumi!

But no one cared. Soon, voices rose and fell, and everyone cheered and celebrated the birth of the new god!

At least at this moment, a new water goddess has been born in Fontaine: Frinina de Fontaine!

Fu Ningna's gaze swept across the crowd and landed on Yunxiu, who was smiling broadly, and Hu Tao, who was cheering for her, behind the crowd. She couldn't help but smile gently and softly opened her mouth to sing another song, "Light Ripples," which was quite different from the one Yunxiu had heard in her previous life.

"Ah, if tears eventually converge into a great flood."

"May the new shoots of the ancient city finally break through the soil."

"O Mother Goddess... Sin and glory are both under Your watchful eye."

"Sailing against the tide, using the embers as a candle."

"Wherever it passed, everything was restored to its former glory."

"Also filling the lake of loving hearts."

"Love, then, returns this mortal name to the thick fog."

"A crown of thorns blossoms into redemption"

"Like the ebb and flow of the tide, a desperate gamble that leads nowhere."

"Love, I will watch over the night sky from the throne."

"In the sound of the tide, all lies come to an end."

"The long night will eventually break...and the sun will rise..."

—The End of "Fontaine Chapter"

Author's Note (Actually, there are still some regrets)

Actually, I feel I didn't write this volume well.

One of the main reasons is that the character of Frynn is so popular because of her tragic nature. Of course, I personally don't want so many tragedies, so I mainly set the difficulty on the series of events surrounding the sudden death of Agoria.

The problem with this incident is that if I delve into it, it will involve a lot of subsequent plot developments, and it will inevitably attract a lot of third-party intervention, which will create a distorted situation.

That is, it looks difficult, and it is actually difficult to solve. However, most of them do not have much action or story. They are basically pure transactions and schemes. Because, in essence, even the story from Agoria's death to Fukaros's Sinful Dance in the original timeline is actually a pure transaction and power struggle.

Just like the sword of Fucarus, can you say it's completely devoid of political maneuvering? Not at all. Perhaps if Navelette disagreed, he would have just killed Navelette with a glance, just like Hibarak, seized the power of the ancient dragon, and become a complete being, one with both god and dragon.

Shibarak has the power to rule in death, but the Fucarus, who inherited Egolia's power, also have the power to rule in life.

However, the tragic ending of Fucarus and Frinina obscures all the deals and stories behind it.

However, if I were to make the tragedy happen, it would violate the logic of my book, because in my book, the protagonist keeps modifying the timeline all the way down. Of course, the current timeline has already been modified, and this timeline was actually modified by the protagonist later on—how he modified it will be written later.

So it became very difficult to write towards the end; the middle of this volume was the most difficult period for me to write.

In the end, I decided to prioritize protecting Funina's character design and story logic, which weakened the impact of the plot itself.

Including the final lines of the ascension to godhood, I also used many of the original lines because I wanted to ensure that the character settings and story logic could be written completely later.

And why do I need to preserve the logic? Because I'm making a game... This book is ultimately an extension of the game, although the game won't be released until the next version. It's currently in the prologue testing phase. Developing a turn-based game in Thousand Star Realm has both me and the lead programmer completely stuck.

It was so painful to do.

Let me briefly explain what happened next.

1. The next volume will return to Liyue. This was decided long ago because the Demon God War and the past of Liyue will definitely be explored. Only after exploring these can we move on to the Nata volume, which is a very crucial volume.

2. It's the Liyue arc now, so it'll still have the Liyue theme. I'll definitely follow the pacing of the previous Liyue arcs in terms of titles, so the rest of the story will almost entirely be set in Liyue.

3. The storylines involving Sora and Hikari will likely have to wait until later. The Nata arc will definitely need to cover the Night Watchers War and the Three Surrenders, which is actually quite troublesome.

4. I actually wrote this book almost entirely in my own words, constantly explaining and discussing the settings in detail, so some parts are rather obscure. But there's no good way to fix that, since these things are all written into the game's text.

5. The reason for hunting the Lunarians has already been stated: it's easier to kill them, and it also logically gives Mayika a chance to appear later, after all, she's a female warrior. She will also appear in the Liyue arc later, since in terms of combat power, she is one of the top beings in Teyvat.

6. I'm not very good at writing combat, that's true. When I play games, I also like to collect equipment and grind stats to one-shot monsters, so the protagonist I write is like that too, calling on his dad to summon teammates to make equipment, and then one-shotting monsters...

7. My setting is that the eight members of the Witch Guild are all legendary peak archmages, which happens to be eight different mage styles: Alice's spellcasting (space) style, Barbielos's prophecy style, Nicolein's transformation style, Okotavia's enchanting style, Andersdort's illusion style, and Rhinedort's necromancy style. But the last two can only be created by original characters.

I plan to write the current witch J as a sculptor, the one who appears in the story.

As for the last witch, I can only create an original protective mage, whom I plan to call Witch K. Her identity is that of a Teyvat human who developed the earliest human beings similar to the products of the False Heaven, and later wandered the starry sea.

8. One of Yunxiu's wives is indeed an archangel. In the Genshin Impact setting, almost every country has a key archangel, such as Sybil of Fontaine, Hakuba of Liyue, the Flower Goddess of Sumeru, the Night Goddess of Nata, etc.

Although I don't know Nick, he most likely represents Winter. So Mondstadt and Inazuma should also be included. I plan to design Yunxiu's wife as an archangel who was stranded in Mondstadt. I've already thought of a name. She will appear later, but only briefly.

9. Yunxiu's mother is a foreshadowing element, which will be discussed later, but the Liyue arc won't reveal too much about her.

Finally, as usual, I'd like to ask for your support. I will definitely finish writing it as usual.

At the current pace... it should be finished within four or five months, and by then Nordecale will be around the same time.

Chapter 256 Weary of Embracing Divine Power, Bathed in Leisurely Light (Second Update on Sunday!)

The performance concluded with the ascension of Furynna, and from then on, Fontaine had a new deity.

Previously, Fulina had told her that she would serve as the water goddess for a while longer, at least to help the people of Fontaine get through this phase before moving on to the godless kingdom.

While becoming a god might not be a good thing, it's certainly not a bad thing for Fontaine, who is currently panicking and doesn't know where to go. However, the main political affairs are still handled by the Grand Consul, so Furyn is not having too much trouble.

After the opera performance, she went backstage and found Yunxiu eating snacks with Hu Tao. These were Fontaine snacks sent by the Meilushin fans. Although they were a bit too sweet for Yunxiu, who preferred something a bit saltier, Hu Tao was enjoying them very much.

"Yunxiu, come and try this macaron. It's freshly baked and really sweet!" Hu Tao picked up a knife and cut a macaron into three pieces. She took one piece for herself and pushed the remaining two pieces in front of Yunxiu, saying, "Eating too much will make you fat. You eat these for me."

"Forehead……"

Does having this mean I won't gain weight?

Funina reached out and picked up a piece, tasted it, and said, "Hmm...it's really sweet. Who's in charge of the kitchen today?"

"Lady Funina, Miss Aikofi personally cooked today, saying it was to celebrate the coronation of the Water God," a Melusin said respectfully.
