Chapter 317 Sherlock vs. Iron Man (Part 1)

Even a clay figure has some temper. No matter how angry Tony was about his actions of preserving his dark history, this deadly attack only made Sherlock even angrier.

Seeing that Tony's attacks were the only response he received after he spoke, Sherlock's temper flared up, and he immediately put aside Orange and Doro to prepare to fight Tony's side.

As the Destroyer armor covered his body, the Lancer appeared in Sherlock's hand. The tense atmosphere was almost ready to erupt at any moment, but Tony on the other side seemed to have no idea what was going on and once again launched the first attack on Sherlock.

The energy beams fired from the palm cannons of dozens of armored vehicles were as beautiful as fireworks, but beneath the beauty lay a venomous nature, like venomous snakes ready to devour their prey, shooting straight toward Sherlock.

Facing the palm-shaped cannons fired from all directions, Sherlock showed no intention of moving or dodging. He simply twirled his spear and lightly tapped the ground beneath his feet with the tip.

The next second, a wall several meters thick, like a chimney, rose from the ground with Sherlock as the center. The heavy wall easily blocked all the palm cannons fired by the armor.

Of course, the opening above it was a flaw deliberately left by Sherlock. Tony's side naturally wouldn't let such an opportunity pass. One of the suits of armor took off into the sky almost without hesitation, attempting to use the height to gain a better view and continue to attack Sherlock inside the high wall.

However, the armor had only just taken off to a certain altitude, barely enough to see Sherlock's figure, when a scarlet light shot out from the high wall that looked like a chimney.

The beam of light shot straight at the armored suit that was trying to attack from above, and almost instantly struck the suit's chest.

Only now could it be seen that what was being shimmering was not light at all, but rather the afterimage left behind after Sherlock threw the spear at a speed beyond what the naked eye could see!

At this moment, the spear had already pierced through the chest of the armor high in the sky, and the two long spearheads had even protruded from the back of the armor.

With a flash of blue light deep within the chimney-like high wall, Sherlock suddenly appeared in front of the armored figure whose chest had been pierced, and gripped the spear shaft once more.

A burst of crimson lightning appeared, and with the activation of Sherlock's alchemy, the armor quickly exploded into a dazzling firework in mid-air.

Sherlock used the force of the exploding armor to quickly approach the armor below.

It seemed that the remaining armored vehicles had also figured out Sherlock's plan, and they fired their palm cannons at him like they were free. However, Sherlock, who had gained spatial power through the Cosmic Cube, was no longer the same Sherlock he used to be.

His figure flickered continuously in mid-air, and the seemingly impenetrable beams of the palm cannons failed to hit Sherlock in the blink of an eye, even as Sherlock approached the armored figures.

When Sherlock reappeared, he was already next to one of the armored vehicles.

With a swing of the Spear of Longinus, Sherlock almost instantly severed the arm of the unknown model of armor in front of him. After confirming that there was no one inside, Sherlock showed no mercy. With another swing of the Spear of Longinus, the poor armor was quickly chopped down into its most basic metal parts.

Seeing this, the other mechs seemed to finally realize that something like the palm cannon posed no threat to Sherlock at all, and quickly took off into the air to form a high-altitude encirclement of Sherlock once again.

This time, Sherlock didn't care. He wanted to see what other tricks Tony could pull.

The armor did not disappoint Sherlock. After the armor flying in the air surrounded Sherlock, almost all of the armors blossomed, revealing all kinds of weapons.

The next second, countless micro-missiles and all kinds of kinetic weapons were launched towards Sherlock, who was located in the center of the encirclement, like a rain of pear blossoms.

Faced with the dense barrage of weapons like raindrops, Sherlock did not resort to alchemy. Instead, he simply raised his left arm, and the next second, accompanied by a flash of blue light on his left arm, a hemispherical, pale blue light screen as thin as a cicada's wing enveloped Sherlock.

The light screen looked thinner than a banknote, but it was precisely this seemingly fragile thing that rendered the barrage of weapons and ammunition ineffective.

That's right, it's not destruction, it's not damage, it's complete failure!

Whether it's kinetic weapons or those miniature missiles, the moment they come into contact with that seemingly fragile pale blue light screen, it's as if they've hit something hard, completely unable to advance an inch further.

But what's amazing is that although those munitions and missiles couldn't move forward, they didn't cause any explosions. Rather than 'colliding' with them, it was more like they were forcibly 'controlled' by the pale blue light screen.

The only fate of those kinetic weapons is to exhaust all their kinetic energy and fall to the ground as scrap metal, unwilling to live.

Even those micro-missiles with boosters meet the same fate, except that they last slightly longer than those purely kinetic weapons.

In just a few breaths, countless 'corpses' of weapons and ammunition had accumulated around the pale blue light screen.

Seeing that their weapons and ammunition were running low, the armored vehicles flying in the air changed their tactics once again. Since ranged attacks were ineffective, the armored vehicles used their numerical advantage to gang up on Sherlock.

Although the armored vehicles had an absolute numerical advantage, they were still somewhat outmatched when facing Sherlock. After all, Sherlock's stats far surpassed those of the armored vehicles that were attacking him, whether it was strength, defensive capabilities, or even the weapons and abilities he possessed.

Faced with the armored vehicles charging towards him, Sherlock swung his lance, and the miniature missiles that had lost their momentum and fallen to the ground seemed to regain their fuel, actually rushing back towards the armored vehicles that had launched them under Sherlock's control.

It must be said that Tony's armor's weapon system is very interestingly designed. Those miniature missiles are clearly weapons that Tony equipped his armor with, but these weapons have a hard time penetrating Tony's own armor's defenses.

The final result was nothing more than those first batch of armored vehicles that rushed up being blown away by missiles from the ground, leaving them dazed and confused.

Even so, it gave Sherlock a chance to react. Relying on the amplification provided by his Destroyer armor, Sherlock wielded his spear and began an exceptionally thorough 'slaughter' of the armored vehicles like a wolf charging into a flock of sheep.

Chapter 318 Sherlock vs. Iron Man (Part 2)

Despite Tony's overwhelming numerical advantage in armor, the sharpness of Sherlock's spear effectively negated this numerical disparity.

Of course, despite his anger, Sherlock remained rational. No matter which armor approached, Sherlock's first strike was always aimed at a non-lethal part of the armor, such as its arm or thigh.

Only after confirming that there is no one inside the armor will Sherlock's second strike completely destroy it, rendering it utterly useless.

Despite Tony's large number of armored vehicles, they were losing men at an alarming rate as Sherlock managed to cripple one of them with just two strikes.

Meanwhile, Sherlock noticed something different. As the number of armors decreased, the attacks of those armors surrounding him became more agile. However, despite this, it still couldn't stop Sherlock's 'slaughter' of them.

In just a short while, the once exquisite garden of Tony's mansion was filled with the corpses of armored warriors.

In the end, only one suit of armor remained to fight Sherlock—an armor that Sherlock was quite familiar with but had never appeared in the movies.

Mark V!

The main reason why the Mark V, an old-fashioned suit of armor, survived, besides the fact that it was a specialized suit of armor developed for close combat, was the lightsaber that Sherlock gave to Tony as a gift.

Although the lightsaber cannot withstand the slashes from the spear for long, just being able to withstand the first blow is enough to give the Mark V some time to react.

Sherlock never expected that the last one standing would be an old-fashioned suit of armor like the Mark V. What surprised Sherlock even more was that even though it was the last remaining suit of armor, the Mark V still didn't give up. Instead, it raised its lightsaber and adopted a standard sword stance from the rabbit's side.

This scene almost made Sherlock laugh in anger. Sherlock, who had originally planned to back down, didn't hold back and immediately raised his spear, assuming the standard starting stance as well.

The moment the two sides assumed their stances, as if by some unspoken agreement, they collided at an incredibly fast speed, almost imperceptible to the naked eye.

The sparks generated by the clash between the spear and the lightsaber were like the most intense lights in a nightclub, and the clanging of metal striking metal was continuous and resounding.

Although Mark V's lightsaber was shorter than Sherlock's spear, he made up for his weakness with his agile movements and elegant swordsmanship.

Of course, while Sherlock's marksmanship was inferior to Mark 5, who possessed all the martial arts film and television materials from the Rabbit side, he was not at a disadvantage due to his absolute strength advantage and the long-range advantage of the Lang gun itself.

Mark V is like a graceful swordsman, his every move extremely agile, while Sherlock's is a pure battlefield marksmanship, focusing on powerful and heavy attacks, using brute force to overcome all techniques.

Strangely, neither side could gain the upper hand, and they fought endlessly in the garden, leaving behind a trail of destruction, like a typhoon passing through, with flower beds shattered and trees toppled.

The battle between the two was like a martial arts movie that pushed the limits of human mechanics. Sherlock brought out the best in the basic techniques of thrusting, blocking, parrying, hammering, sweeping, shaking, and striking with a spear, while Mark V was not to be outdone, with equally excellent sword techniques such as thrusting, chopping, parrying, blocking, and deflecting.

The two exchanged blows so excitingly that Doro and Tachibana, who were watching from the sidelines, subconsciously found a perfect spot to watch in disbelief while eating popcorn.

Of course, for Sherlock, if he can't defeat Mark V in close combat, he can easily take down Mark V, who is like a sword saint, by using alchemy or the energy of the Cosmic Cube.

However, Mark V on the other side also understood Sherlock's advantage. Therefore, after the two took their stances, Mark V stuck to Sherlock like a leech, and his swordsmanship was as continuous as flowing water, giving Sherlock no chance to break free and use his alchemy.

He used his swordsmanship to constantly engage Sherlock in close combat, forcing Sherlock to fight him with the most primitive techniques.

Sherlock also discovered that the Mark V on the other side was most likely just an empty shell, and Tony would definitely not be inside the Mark V.

The reason is simple: the Mark V in front of them is simply too agile. Its movement has become an advantage. Not to mention anything else, just the way it dodged his spear thrust in mid-air with a split. If Tony were inside, he would probably be incapacitated by now.

Having discovered this, and after a prolonged and unsuccessful attack, Sherlock gradually became enraged, and the attacks with his lance became increasingly fierce, with almost every move aimed at the vital points of the Mark V.

Although the Mark V is far more agile than Sherlock, it inevitably reveals a weakness in a prolonged battle, which Sherlock can then exploit to attack.

Of course, the Mark V is a melee-specialized armor. Although Sherlock could occasionally attack the Mark V, the damage was not fatal. It was just a minor scratch, adding a bit of entertainment for Doro and Orange.

Just as the two were fighting fiercely, and the battlefield was gradually approaching Tony's villa, Tony hurriedly put on his specialized armor and rushed from the floating fortress in the red house on the other side towards his villa.

It's no wonder Tony only realized it at this point; he simply had too many things on his plate.

It's worth noting that Jarvis warned Tony when the Rainbow Bridge first landed, but Tony was busy modifying the floating castle of the red house that had risen to the edge of the atmosphere and didn't take it seriously at all.

After all, as the world's first superhero to reveal his identity and the world's richest man, finding Tony's address wouldn't be too difficult if someone wanted to.

Therefore, Tony's villa was never without sasaeng fans, and Tony subconsciously took Jarvis's warnings as sasaeng fans accidentally entering.

It wasn't until Sherlock started relentlessly destroying Tony's armor that Tony realized something was wrong. He hurriedly put on the specialized space armor he had made specifically for traveling to and from the Red House and rushed towards his home.

However, Tony rushed home but was still a step too late. When Tony arrived home, the once exquisite and beautiful garden had long been reduced to ruins. Only two figures, almost indistinguishable, were entangled together and still approaching his mansion!

"You two bastards, stop right now!!!"

Seeing that his mansion was about to be attacked, Tony had no choice but to roar at the top of his lungs at the two figures engaged in fierce combat below.

Chapter 319 A Battle Triggered by a Misunderstanding

Ten minutes later, Sherlock and Tony sat in the living room of Tony's mansion, staring at each other with awkward expressions.

"So you're saying it was all a misunderstanding?"

Finally, Sherlock couldn't hold back any longer and tentatively asked Tony a question.

Upon hearing Sherlock's question, Tony could only nod with a wry smile, indicating that Sherlock was absolutely right.

"So, the whole reason is simply because I recorded your dark history, and in retaliation, you removed me from Jarvis's visitor list and then forgot to add me back."

Then, coincidentally, my return via the Rainbow Bridge triggered a massive energy fluctuation, causing Jarvis to mistakenly believe an enemy had invaded and automatically activate your highest defense clause, thus leading to the battle?

Faced with Sherlock's questioning, Tony nodded with an even more bitter expression, and pointed to Doro and Orange, who were eating popcorn and looking on with excitement.

“That’s right, didn’t you see that my armor ignored Doro and Orange the whole time?”

"So, you mean the best thing I should do isn't to fight your armor head-on, but to walk into your house unscathed while holding Doro in my left hand and Orange in my right?"

Sherlock pressed Tony for an answer, and Tony actually thought about it seriously for a moment before nodding solemnly at Sherlock.

"Theoretically speaking, that's correct!"

Hearing Tony's serious expression as he uttered such an outrageous conclusion, Sherlock was utterly speechless.

You're probably angry, right? You just destroyed almost all of Tony's armor inventory except for the Mark V, and even turned the garden of Tony's mansion into a Syrian war-damaged style.

The financial loss alone is already an astronomical sum that an ordinary person would never dare to imagine in their lifetime.

But you can't say you're not angry, right? You were indeed surrounded and attacked by Tony's armor just now, and even got a good 'beating' by the Mark V.

For a moment, Sherlock's expression was as strange and distorted as could be.

Of course, things weren't much better for Tony either. After all, Tony didn't expect Sherlock to go to Asgard, and he certainly didn't expect Sherlock to be tricked by Heimdall, that old fox.

Both of them were extremely uncomfortable for a moment, sitting face to face in the living room, neither of them knowing what to say.

It wasn't until Pepper Potts, holding a pistol, cautiously pushed open the villa's door and saw Sherlock and Tony sitting on the sofa that she angrily questioned the two grown men.

"Have you two brought the battlefield of the Gulf War to your home?"

Under Pepper's rant, Sherlock and Tony sheepishly ran to the garden to start cleaning up the battlefield. Sherlock silently used alchemy to restore the garden, which had been reduced to the style of Syrian war damage, while Tony quietly tidied up the wreckage of his armor.
