Well, Sherlock now understands why Bucky had that expression on his face after that bald Wakanda woman casually removed his vibranium arm.
"Damn it, Tony, you bastard, you left a backdoor on me?"
Unable to contain himself any longer, Sherlock started yelling at Tony in the car. But in the face of Sherlock's accusations, Tony just calmly shrugged and gave a smug look.
"This isn't some backdoor; it's just that your thing isn't very sturdy to begin with. After all, it's a super-simplified version that I made on the spot based on my Mark 42. It's not surprising that I can control it..."
Tony paused abruptly at this point, looking at Sherlock with the eyes of someone eyeing a treasure while a chicken wrap was dangling from his mouth.
Sherlock knew Tony, that bastard, all too well. Sherlock could tell exactly what Tony was thinking just by the way he bent over. Before Tony could even speak, Sherlock didn't give him any chance at all.
"Don't even think about it! I rely on this thing to get by! I don't want to be slandered by those black-hearted maggots and transformed into some damned evil god, only to suffer the same treatment as the Hulk!"
Upon hearing Sherlock's words, Tony rolled his eyes in annoyance. To be fair, Sherlock was right about one thing: those heartless maggots could really make a big deal out of this.
That's why those heartless maggots still haven't figured out what happened to those two tentacles in the Los Angeles mansion. If they knew Sherlock's current state, they probably would have already started making some clandestine moves.
Or to put it more bluntly, even if those black-hearted maggots are afraid of Sherlock's flexible bottom line, it wouldn't be a good thing if Sherlock's tentacle monster appearance really frightened any flowers and plants.
After all, the flat-Earth theory still has a market in this magical land of the US, so don't expect it to be anything more normal here.
Tony rolled his eyes at Sherlock, then silently finished all the food. Sherlock then drove Tony to Harry's warehouse.
After following Tony through the warehouse door, Sherlock almost immediately spotted the 'Anti-Tony Armor' on a table, being charged using two wires.
Seeing this, Sherlock's lips twitched, and he pointed at the armor on the table and complained to Tony.
"Don't tell me this thing needs to be charged?"
Tony didn't react much. After entering the warehouse and checking the condition of his armor, he responded to Sherlock without turning his head.
"That's normal. After all, this thing is just an engineering prototype to me, so it's normal for it to have defects."
After saying this, Tony looked at Harry, who was watching Sherlock warily from the sofa, and introduced him to the little guy.
"Sherlock, Sherlock Flamel, the alchemist from the Battle of New York, a true alchemist, who has temporarily turned himself into a tentacle monster due to an alchemical mistake and hasn't found a way to turn himself back yet."
Harry, you should know that the owner here is also my friend.
After saying this, Tony continued to fiddle with his armor, while Harry, who had a similar childhood experience to Tony, looked curiously in Sherlock's direction.
"A tentacle monster?"
Seeing Harry's puzzled look, Sherlock, being straightforward, opened his armor and stepped out in his tentacle monster body.
Unexpectedly, Harry wasn't scared at all. Instead, he looked at Sherlock's tentacle monster form with great interest and gave it a thumbs up.
"Cool! You can still use alchemy like this? I always thought that was something that only existed in myths and legends."
Upon hearing Harry's words, Sherlock casually used his tentacles to pick up a stone from the ground. Crimson lightning burst forth on the stone, and in the next second, the originally ordinary stone transformed into a gold coin from the Continental Hotel.
Harry was completely stunned when he saw this scene; it shattered all his knowledge of physics.
Seeing Harry's dazed expression, Sherlock smiled, casually handed the gold coin to Harry with his tentacles, and patted the bewildered Harry's head.
"Don't be so surprised by this gift. There are still many secrets in this world, aren't there?"
Seemingly persuaded by Sherlock's explanation, Harry finally came to his senses and stopped paying attention to why stones could turn into gold. He began to examine the gold coin in his hand with great interest, as if trying to find a flaw in it.
Sherlock didn't say anything about it; a child's strong curiosity is not a bad thing.
Tony, on the other hand, was somewhat frustrated when he failed to activate or repair his armor after several attempts, and even frequently glanced at Sherlock's armor.
Fortunately, Harry noticed something was wrong with Tony at that moment and asked him a question with a childlike innocence.
"What's wrong? Still can't speed up the armor's charging or repair it?"
After hearing Harry's question, Tony nodded and then spoke to Harry.
"You know, a whole lot of trouble is waiting for me, and I need him!"
But after hearing Tony's words, Harry asked Tony with some confusion.
"But you're still a mechanic. If this thing can't start for the time being, then don't be Iron Man for now. Just be a mechanic and build something, isn't that enough?"
Harry's words stunned Tony. After a while, Tony seemed to come to his senses. His previously anxious expression instantly relaxed, and his eyes brightened as he looked at Harry.
"Yes! I'm also a mechanic!"
Seeing that Tony's condition was getting better and better, Sherlock climbed back into his armor, grinned, pointed at Tony, and said to Harry in front of him.
"Interested in going to the supermarket with this troublesome mechanic? Buy whatever you want, he'll pay!"
Seemingly amused by Sherlock's words, Harry nodded in agreement with a smile.
"it is good!"
Chapter 459 Master and Disciple
Before Sherlock's time travel, there was a saying that men's spending power was even less than that of dogs. But today's supermarket shopping trip proves that this statement is pure nonsense!
Tony alone bought two swivels full of stuff, and Sherlock and Harry weren't much different, each pushing a swivel full of things.
Harry's stroller was filled with snacks and odds and ends, including quite a few electronic items, while Sherlock's was overflowing with food.
It has to be said that the US has a lot of pre-made meals, even boiled eggs can be pre-made, which is really amazing.
Sherlock bought a lot of pre-cooked food, as well as some fresh food.
The pre-made dishes were intended for Harry to store and eat slowly, while the food was meant to be prepared for Harry later so he could show off his cooking skills.
In the US, it's not uncommon for orphans like Harry to go hungry. For the lower classes in the US, food is always scarce, and Sherlock's choice can be seen as a way to alleviate Harry's survival pressure.
As for Tony...
This brings us to another characteristic of the United States.
You never know how many bizarre things you can find in a regular supermarket.
Assassins like Zhao Weike can concoct explosives and even poison gas here; mechanics like Tony can buy tools and materials to handcraft a whole bunch of equipment; and even drug dealers can buy raw materials here!
The most absurd thing is that the materials used to make these things are just the most ordinary daily necessities bought from supermarkets.
It can only be said that the regulation of some raw materials in capitalism is indeed extremely lax.
However, to some extent, these are also characteristics of capitalist society. Who knows how shocked Sherlock was when he first traveled here and saw that family pack of 1000 painkillers?
What shocked Sherlock even more was that the dosage of that medicine was something he had only seen in veterinary medicine before his time travel!
Recently, news reports have even surfaced that some painkillers are adulterated, and some of them are even opioids?
In response, Sherlock could only say that if you want to broaden your horizons, you should come and see what the United States has to offer. The Chinese are too normal, which makes them seem out of place in the rest of the world.
After their crazy shopping spree, Harry and Tony immediately got back to the warehouse and began crafting their gear.
Sherlock, however, did not disturb the two science and engineering students who were starting to get a little fanatical. He quietly found a place to put the pre-made dishes before going to the kitchen to start cooking.
To be honest, Tony was incredibly devoted to Harry. He acted like a teacher the whole time, teaching Harry while doing things himself, and even dumping some unimportant tasks on Harry.
Furthermore, Tony would be there to guide Harry when he took action, correcting his mistakes and guiding him to think of the correct approach.
Even after they finished their work, the two of them sat at the dinner table discussing some of the knowledge and theorems they had learned while making the weapons. Tony kept guiding Harry, trying to get him to optimize the equipment they had just made through materials or thinking.
Sherlock simply watched without saying a word.
It wasn't until after a night's rest, when Sherlock had temporarily acted as Tony's driver and the two were driving towards Killian's lair with the equipment Tony had made, that Sherlock finally asked Tony a question.
"You think highly of that little guy?"
"Of course, isn't that clever?"
Tony answered without the slightest hesitation, and even when Harry was mentioned, a smile appeared on his lips that he himself didn't realize.
After hearing Tony's words, Sherlock thought for a moment before asking Tony a question.
"Have you ever thought about taking that kid on as your apprentice? Maybe he'll inherit your Iron Man title someday."
Faced with Sherlock's seemingly joking daydream, Tony shook his head with a smile before speaking to Sherlock.
No, I hadn't thought about it!
On the one hand, it's because the child is too young. Being Iron Man's disciple would only be a constraint for him. It's better for me to protect him from the shadows and let him grow on his own.
On the other hand, the title of Iron Man belongs only to me; there will be no successor. I would much rather he step out of his own shadow and live by my name, rather than clinging to it and becoming my stand-in.
Hearing Tony's words, Sherlock rolled his eyes at Tony in annoyance before complaining.
"You tsundere!"
"Heh, you little brat, you have no right to talk to me like that!"
……
The two started bickering, exchanging one sentence after another, but they never brought up Sherlock's suggestion again.
While the two were traveling, Killian returned to a manor in the suburbs of Washington.
However, compared to his previous glorious departure, when he seemed to be the most powerful man in the world, Killian returned to this place in a sorry state.
Even his expression showed a hint of lingering fear.
Doro's attack left Killian with the biggest shadow of his life, and was the closest he ever came to death.
You have to understand that if Doro's spear had been positioned just a few inches higher or lower, Killian would never have been able to get back to where he was.
Even now that he's back, he's still severely weakened.
Maya, the true developer of the Extremis virus, has been captured by that damned pink-haired girl and her fate is unknown. Killian has also failed to capture Pepper, and all of Killian's original plans have been disrupted.
With a dark expression, Killian went to the lab to adjust his Extremis virus, took a shower, and changed his clothes before asking his subordinates.
"How is the plan progressing?"
Upon hearing Killian's question, a bald man made some adjustments on a tablet before reporting back to Killian.
"The Middle East is going very smoothly. Thanks to the Ministry of Defense, we managed to separate Captain and Iron Man, and successfully captured Iron Man through a vulnerability. Iron Man is now on the plane back."
Upon hearing his subordinate's report, Killian frowned before continuing to question his men.
What's the Avengers' reaction?
"Black Widow is still in the Department of Defense. You know, those greedy guys at the top have never really trusted them, so Black Widow has been excluded from the core from beginning to end."
Captain America disappeared after Iron Man was captured. The Department of Defense is now preparing to follow procedure and pin the blame on Captain America, thus completing the purge of the Avengers.
After hearing his subordinate's report, Killian said nothing. He simply sat behind his large desk, waved his hand to signal his subordinate to leave, and frowned as he pondered something.
