America: A Prodigy of Stereotypes

"I'm fine, Dr. Otto. I went for a run this morning; it's just a sign of strenuous exercise. I'll be fine in a bit..."
"Are you really okay? You can go lie down in the school clinic."
"fine."
"If you insist."
Dr. Otto began his lecture, but his eyes kept glancing at Peter's physical condition.
Seeing Peter diligently taking notes as always, and his flushed face gradually returning to normal, Dr. Otto felt relieved.
He needs to talk to the other teachers about Peter's situation so that they can observe Peter's condition more closely during class.
The bell rang, and Dr. Otto hurriedly left the classroom with his textbooks. In the corridor, he whispered to the teacher of the next class about Peter Parker's "abnormal" situation.
"Peter, come here for a second!"
In the next class, history teacher David called out to Peter in the hallway. Li Qun, Gwen, and Peter kept a distance and eavesdropped on David and Peter's conversation from behind Peter.
"Peter, I heard you're sick?"
“Professor David, I’m not sick. Did Dr. Otto tell you I was sick?” Peter asked.
"Dr. Otto said there were special circumstances during your first class today."
“If you’re sick, don’t force yourself to come to school, you know?” David said to Peter in a very serious tone.
"Well, I felt my physical condition was a bit weak, so I decided to start running to school today. The intense exercise made Dr. Otto think I was sick," Peter explained earnestly.
"Exercise?"
Teacher David reached out and pinched Peter's shoulder and arm. Peter really didn't have much muscle or fat.
"Exercising is a good thing, but you have to be careful about the intensity. Okay, let's go to the classroom."
David smiled at Peter, patted him gently on the shoulder, and walked away.
“Peter, were you nervous just now?” Gwen stepped forward and stood beside Peter.
"That scared me to death," Peter said, still shaken.
“I’ve already tried to persuade you, but unfortunately you have a strong rebellious streak,” Li Qun said from behind Peter.
“Isn’t this because we lack experience?” Peter said, turning to Li Qun.
"It's also because your skin is too fair, even fairer than Gwen's," Li Qun teased.
"Am I dark-skinned?" Gwen asked Li Qun with displeasure.
“Pink complements black,” Li Qun replied.
Gwen glanced down at her outfit: jeans and an oversized pink hoodie, large enough to fit her hands inside the open pockets on either side of the hoodie.
"Hurry up, we're going to be late!"
Gwen nudged Liqun.
"Hey, no horseplay!"
Vice Principal George reprimanded Li Qun and Gwen, and the three of them quickly disappeared from George's sight.
During the second period in the morning, Peter's eyelids were drooping as he listened to the dry history lessons; fatigue was creeping in during the class.
History teacher David looked at Peter, who was nodding incessantly in the last row of the classroom, and tacitly approved of Peter's behavior of sleeping in class. He did not deduct any points from Peter's daily routine, which was considered a preferential treatment for the good student Peter Parker.
Li Qun started taking class notes in Peter's way so that Peter could copy his history notes after he woke up.
He never used to take notes in history class. When it comes to history, the people of Aurora University are the best at recording and researching history.
In the eyes of teachers from all disciplines, Li Qun is an all-around excellent student who excels in all subjects. Peter, on the other hand, is only good at science and engineering, while his social sciences are just so-so.
Chapter 72 Run, Peter!
Li Qun rang the doorbell, and Aunt Mei opened the door. Seeing Li Qun outside the door so early in the morning surprised Aunt Mei.
Good morning, Aunt May.
Good morning, Lyon. Peter isn't up yet.
“I guessed it, I came to wake Peter up.”
"Come in quickly."
“I’ll go wake Peter up,” Aunt May said.
"I'll go, it's getting late."
Li Qun went up to the second floor, gently opened the door, and entered Peter's room.
Li Qun stood in the room, not in a hurry to wake Peter, but instead took out his phone to call Peter.
Peter's phone rang, and he forced his eyes open, reached for his glasses on the bedside table with one hand, and struggled to see who was calling him so early in the morning.
"Wow!!"
There was a person standing in the room, and Peter screamed.
"Good morning, Peter."
Peter heard Li Qun's voice coming from the phone.
"I'm up, I'm up..."
"I'll come downstairs and wait for you."
Li Qun left Peter's room, and Peter, startled, regained full consciousness.
"My God..."
Peter grimaced as he dressed; yesterday's strenuous exercise had left him aching all over, and he even wanted to take painkillers.
Peter struggled downstairs, and Li Qun observed his movements, deciding that the intensity of today's exercise needed to be reduced.
"Peter, what's wrong?" Aunt May noticed Peter's strange behavior and asked with concern.
“Peter exercised a bit too much yesterday,” Li Qun explained for Peter.
"Oh, I see."
Peter sat down at the table. Aunt May had prepared breakfast for him: fried eggs, fried bacon, toast, and a glass of hot milk—a very standard white breakfast.
Peter quickly finished his breakfast, grabbed his backpack, and went out with Li Qun.
Peter got on his bicycle, and Li Qun ran leisurely alongside it.
"Shall I carry your schoolbag for you?" Peter asked Li Qun.
Thanks.
Liqun handed his backpack to Peter, and without the backpack bouncing around, Liqun ran much more easily.
“Liqun, are you still wearing the weights?” Peter asked.
"Nothing."
"I'm going to speed up, Liqun, can you keep up?"
"Of course I can keep up!"
Peter pedaled hard; they had gotten up a little late today, and if they didn't speed up, they would both be late.
Twenty minutes later, the two arrived at the school. Li Qun was covered in sweat from running, and Peter handed him a tissue to wipe it off.
"Is this morning your long-distance running session at Liqun?" Gwen asked the two of them.
“After school, Peter will be running home,” Li Qun sighed and replied to Gwen.
“Gwen, you have no idea how painful it was for me to get out of bed this morning,” Peter said.
“I’ve experienced that, back when I was in school in New Jersey.” Harry smiled and placed his hand on Peter’s shoulder, giving Peter’s shoulder a firm squeeze.
"Oh no!" Li Qun suddenly slapped his forehead.
"What's wrong?" Gwen asked with concern.
"Our lunch! I ran quite a distance to get it to Peter to carry, did it spill out?"
Li Qun opened her backpack and checked the insulated box. The box was wrapped in a plastic bag and there was no leakage.
"It's good that there was no leakage." Li Qun breathed a sigh of relief.
"What are we having for lunch today?" Gwen asked curiously.
"I do not know either."
“Actually, I open blind boxes every day at lunchtime. My uncle puts the food in a thermal container before I get up, so I don’t have a chance to see it,” Li Qun replied.
“Liqun, why did you put a math dictionary in your bag? No wonder it’s so heavy. No wonder you don’t need to wear a weighted bag anymore; carrying the dictionary to school every day is heavy enough.” Peter noticed that there were books in Liqun’s backpack that were not part of the high school curriculum, not just a math dictionary.
"let me see?"
“Here you go.” Li Qun handed the math dictionary to Gwen.
Gwen flipped through it casually and then returned the math dictionary to Liqun.
"I borrowed this from the library," Li Qun said, putting the dictionary away.
To be precise, it was borrowed from the Kamar-Taj Library, as was the other math book.
Liqun no longer needs to listen to the teacher's lectures in school math class; listening to lectures is a waste of time for him, and he'd rather learn on his own.
The benchmark for "doing better" has changed from high school student Peter Parker to Bruce Banner with fourteen doctoral degrees, demonstrating a super-evolution in learning ability.
……
School was over, but the school was still bustling with activity, and several food trucks were parked on the street near the school.
"Is the game not over yet?"
Li Qun smelled the food truck coming from the street food truck and started to crave street food.
"Peter, can you hear the cheers? We won Vision High School!"
"Huh? I didn't hear that."
Peter found many incredible things about Li Qun; not only was his sense of smell as keen as a wild animal's, but his hearing was also terrifyingly strong. They were standing at the school gate, which was five or six hundred meters away from the football field. The field had soundproofing, yet Li Qun could hear the sounds coming from the field from that distance.
