America: A Prodigy of Stereotypes

At first, Ms. Rosie's classes were not like this; she was more serious and would earnestly explain the text to her students.
“During the summer vacation, Leon and I volunteered in the community, distributing food to the shelter. The shelter had advertisements that you couldn’t see anywhere else,” Gwen said abruptly.
"Not many students at our school do community volunteer work during the summer vacation."
Dr. Otto sighed as he recalled his difficult college years, during which only his wife, Rosie, had been by his side to support him. He had no other family members besides Rosie.
Giving up his research on controlled nuclear fusion also means giving up the support that Roche has given him over the years.
"We're almost there." Gwen was almost home.
Dr. Otto stopped the car, and Li Qun and Gwen got out. He wouldn't feel at ease until he escorted Gwen inside; he couldn't be even a little bit too far.
Li Qun got back into the car, and Dr. Otto drove him back to Chinatown.
"Dr. Otto, have you met Dr. Bruce Banner? Does Dr. Banner also have a doctorate in nuclear physics?" After getting into the car, Li Qun changed the subject of their conversation with Otto.
"We haven't heard from him for a long time."
“It’s possible they’re involved in a secret project like the Manhattan Project,” Otto said.
"Not missing?" Li Qun asked.
“If he’s missing, then it means Dr. Bruce Banner has encountered an accident,” Dr. Otto said.
Are you interested in Dr. Bruce Banner?
“I’d like to know more about Dr. Bruce Banner, his hobbies, his lifestyle, and so on,” Li Qun replied.
Chapter 81 Friends in My Imagination
Asking Dr. Otto Octavius about Dr. Bruce Banner's interests might not have been the best approach.
Dr. Otto told Liqun that Dr. Banner's hobbies were picnicking, bird watching, mushroom picking, and painting.
This information is actually public; Li Qun can find it simply by looking up the interview published in the University of California student newspaper ten years ago.
"Dr. Banner, do you like picking mushrooms?"
"Who told you this?"
After escaping the incredibly boring party at Flashy, Li Qun went home and immediately went to the Sanctuary of the Dead in New York to have a lesson with Bruce Banner.
"That's what my science teacher, Dr. Otto, said."
"It's surprising that someone still remembers that I actually enjoy picking mushrooms."
"Then Dr. Banner, you will definitely like a place."
“You mean the Yunnan region in southwestern China? That’s Wang’s hometown; he took me there a few times,” Dr. Banner said to Li Qun.
"Do you know why Wang's skin is so dark? The ultraviolet rays in his hometown are too strong, which tanned him."
"Let's not talk about this anymore. I feel it would be dangerous to continue." Banner stopped teasing Wang and focused on lecturing Li Qun.
An hour passed, and the class ended. Banner planned to tell Li Qun some interesting stories from his school days.
“I went to university on a full scholarship, but after paying for all sorts of fees, I only had about $600 left, so I had to take time off to do part-time jobs to earn some money.”
“I grew up in foster care and it wasn’t easy for me to get my doctorate, you know that, Liqun?”
"Fortunately, the professors I encountered appreciated me, so I didn't have to go to great lengths to please them like other students did in order to get their recommendation letters."
“You need recommendation letters to get into college after graduating from high school, which is another hurdle. And once you get to college, it’s unlikely you’ll have it as easy as you did in high school,” Bruce Banner reminded Li Qun.
"I know."
Liqun nodded.
If you're afraid of difficulties, Liqun actually has an excellent option: go to Aurora University for "study abroad." Going back to Aurora University for university is just like coming home.
"Do you want to know where the Hulk came from?" Dr. Banner asked Li Qun.
"Can I know?" Li Qun asked.
"Hulk was originally a friend I imagined when I was a child."
"I have no friends, I'm so lonely, so I imagined Hulk to keep me company."
“Living in a host family, there were many children, not just me, and I was the one who was bullied the most by the other children.”
“When I’m bullied, I fantasize that my friend Hulk will stand up for me and smash all the people and things that make me feel bad.”
"As I grew up, I forgot all the things I had fantasized about when I was a child."
"Later, when Hulk appeared, I wondered why he was called Hulk."
"It turns out these are all things from my childhood."
"Hulk, smash!" Hulk appeared behind Banner and made a slamming motion on the floor.
"At Kamar-Taj, I recalled things from my childhood, and that's how I made peace with Hulk."
“I thought that a genius with such high intelligence as you would remember everything you’ve experienced since childhood,” Li Qun said.
“No,” Bruce Banner said.
"But Hulk remembers."
"General Ross, don't eat the pickled radish," Hulk said, raising his middle finger.
“Hey! Hulk, that’s rude!” Bruce Banner turned around and shouted at Hulk.
"Hmph!" Hulk crossed his arms and laughed at Banner before disappearing in the blink of an eye.
"Can I buy Hulk a gift?" Li Qun asked Banner.
“You can just give me the money,” Banner said to Li Qun.
“I want to buy a game console so Hulk can play games when he’s bored,” Li Qun said.
"A game console? A Famicom?"
"This is it."
“We don’t need to buy one; we can make our own game console,” Banner said.
"Make it myself? Is that even possible?"
“I’ll write you a list of materials. Go collect the materials and bring them to me,” Banner said.
Bruce Banner started writing on the draft paper, and thoughtfully noted at the end of the material what objects could be found with it.
"Didn't you want to learn computer programming? After we finish making the game console, we can make games ourselves to play."
Bruce Banner handed the list to Li Qun, who began to study the materials on the list.
Building a game console is more difficult than Peter building a radio. Obtaining certain parts also depends on Li Qun's luck, as they need to be obtained from discarded household appliances.
Is this how you assemble it?
Li Qun drew an assembly sketch on the draft paper, and Bruce Banner glanced at it and nodded.
The structure of a game console is not complicated; you only need to know the function of each material to know how to assemble them.
"Dr. Banner, what kind of game do you want to run on this machine?" Li Qun asked.
“I’d like to hear your thoughts. The basic requirement is that it’s a game that even the Hulk can play,” Banner said.
"You can make Hulk the main character in a game, and the game content is Hulk smashing all sorts of things."
"Smash different things to earn points, and accumulate enough points to pass the level," Li Qun explained his idea.
"Keep smashing, keep having fun."
Bruce Banner raised an eyebrow slightly; it sounded amusing, but he was inwardly somewhat resistant.
"Let's name this game 'Hulk Smash Everything'." Li Qun drew the picture on the draft paper and wrote the name on it.
It's also a side-scrolling platformer game where a green pixelated behemoth smashes tanks, houses, soldiers, and even kids.
“That’s not right, is it?” Banner pointed to the child drawn by Li Qun.
“The game is designed so that you can smash anything you can see, but you can also choose not to smash it,” Li Qun said.
"Hulk supports me." Hulk reappeared next to Bruce Banner and gave Li Qun a thumbs up.
"Smashing things earns points; that's the game's reward system. Now that you've covered the rewards, what about the punishments?" Banner asked.
"I haven't decided on a punishment yet," Li Qun said.
"I'll design it."
“Since we control Hulk in the game, let’s design another hostage who needs to be rescued by Hulk. If the hostage keeps getting caught up in smashing things, he will die.”
Banner took a pen and drew a pixelated girl on a piece of scrap paper.
“It’s Betty,” Hulk said.
"Dr. Banner, is Betty your girlfriend?" Li Qun asked.
“She’s my ex-girlfriend,” Banner said.
"Won't people accuse me of plagiarism?"
“Both ‘Donkey Kong’ and ‘Super Mario’ have rescue designs,” Li Qun said.
"All I can say is that this design is classic," Banner said with a smile.
Chapter 82 Go Home, Child
September is over, and October 1st will be over in the blink of an eye.
Halloween is on Tuesday, the last day of October. However, Halloween is not a public holiday, and students have to go to school during the day, but this does not affect the Halloween activities at night.
"Anyone interested in going to the Halloween parade in Greenwich tonight?" Harry asked.
Li Qun opened the insulated box; today's dish was steamed pumpkin, which perfectly matched the Halloween atmosphere.
"Don't go."
"I don't want to be crammed together with hundreds of thousands of people while wearing diapers," Li Qun complained.
“My dad won’t let me go, so I’d rather stay home and watch it on TV,” Gwen said.
