America: A Prodigy of Stereotypes

“What’s so good about it?” Miles asked.
"For example, there's a guy who gives people a great sense of security. No matter what difficulties you encounter, he always has a solution."
"You're definitely bragging."
“I don’t care whether you believe it or not, you’re my friend after all, not yours.” Gwen smiled.
Gwen took out her phone and started chatting with Peter. Li Qun sent them a lot of photos taken at the protest site.
Miles stared incredulously at the smartphone in Gwen's hand. He had also asked his dad for a Stark smartphone, only to be scolded for it.
Miles moved closer to Gwen, his attention completely focused on her phone.
Miles stood behind the sofa, peeking at Gwen's phone through the sofa.
Watching Gwen's fingers operate on the phone screen, Miles confirmed that the smartphone in Gwen's hand was genuine and not a counterfeit.
"George bought this for you?" Miles' voice suddenly came from behind Gwen, startling her so much that she jumped up from the sofa.
"Were you peeking just now?" Gwen asked, sounding a little angry.
No, I didn't.
“I was just checking if your phone was a fake,” Miles said, waving his hands repeatedly.
Compared to other Black teenagers his age, Miles was somewhat timid, but he was more humane and intelligent than his peers.
“I bought this myself,” Gwen said.
How did you get so much money?
"I won the lottery."
"Really?"
"fake."
"You believe everything I say?" Gwen frowned.
“George really knows how to spend money.” Miles said, glancing down at the Nike basketball shoes on his feet, a gift from George Stacy.
Gwen took a good look at Miles. Miles' outfit wasn't cheap; it was Adidas from Germany, a mid-to-high-end clothing brand, only one level below Nike.
“You must care a lot about how others see you, right?” Gwen said.
“Who would be like you?” Miles said.
Gwen was always well aware of how others perceived her: a nerdy, ugly girl, but that was her disguise. She would occasionally shed that disguise, but each time she did, it attracted a lot of trouble.
Gwen put her phone away, went into the kitchen, and asked Leo if she needed any help.
In the open kitchen, George and Jefferson didn't help at all; they just drank and chatted.
"Drink less," Gwen reminded George.
“I’m not drinking anymore after I finish this can,” George Stacy said.
“I almost forgot you were driving.” Jefferson shook his beer can.
“Gwen, Miles’s going through a rebellious phase; he always says things that make people uncomfortable,” Jefferson said to Gwen.
"We were just talking about cell phones."
"He really wanted a Tony Stark cell phone."
Gwen took out her phone and showed it to Jefferson.
"We need to save money for his college tuition."
“Tony Stark isn’t very happy with his phone and will probably upgrade it every year, releasing a new product. By the time Miles goes to college, there will be a better one,” Gwen said.
“That’s absolutely right.” Jefferson glanced at the sofa; Miles was watching the television absentmindedly.
Gwen started helping Miles' mother, Leo, who was quite good at cooking; at least the stew didn't turn out a mess.

Liqun, Shuangxi, and Harry went into the alley to relieve themselves; they were simply doing the same thing as everyone else.
Why didn't the mayor of New York City invest some money in building public toilets? After the parade, the streets and alleys were filled with the smell of urine.
"Are we doing the right thing?" Harry asked, pulling up his pants, feeling like he had lost something wonderful.
"When in Rome, do as the Romans do." Li Qun fastened his belt and quickly walked out of the alley.
“If you don’t like it, wear adult diapers next time,” Li Qun said to Harry.
The Thanksgiving Day parade is over, and I must say, watching it live was quite a spectacle. Giant balloons floated between the skyscrapers, making me want to jump onto one of them.
The Thanksgiving parade proceeded without any unexpected incidents, and New York was peaceful today.
When Li Qun and Shuang Xi returned to Chinatown, the Chinese restaurant was packed.
"Liqun, take this roast chicken to Dad."
"it is good."
After washing his hands, Liqun took the roast chicken wrapped in oil paper to find his father.
My dad said he doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving, but he still wants to send his heartfelt thanks.
When they arrived at the old man's shop, Liqun smelled incense. The old man had put a few sticks of incense in the incense burner.
Upstairs, the old man had prepared a table full of food and was drinking alone, a glass of wine in hand. After finishing one glass, he poured another and spilled it on the floor.
"Dad, I've brought you some roast chicken."
"Liqun, please sit down."
Li Qun put down the roast chicken, sat down, and opened the oil paper. The aroma of the roast chicken spread out from the oil paper package.
"It smells so good."
The old man tore off a chicken leg, put it in an empty bowl, and placed it on the incense table.
"Here, take this leg, I'll eat these two chicken wings." The old man tore off another chicken leg and put it in Li Qun's bowl.
“It tastes better than turkey,” Dad said.

"Dad, I'd like to borrow your car."
"Why do you need to borrow a car? You don't have a driver's license yet, what do you need to borrow?" the old man asked Liqun.
After lunch, Li Qun was washing dishes in the kitchen.
“Here’s the thing, Dad, my uncle and aunt are going to two different supermarkets tomorrow morning to do some shopping. If we borrow your Mazda, they can go about their business freely. My aunt won’t have to wait for my uncle to pick her up after she’s done shopping,” Li Qun explained.
"Let me find the car keys."
"I left the car keys on the table."
"Okay, Dad."
After washing the dishes, Liqun took his car keys and went back to the restaurant.
The idea of lending the car was Li Qun's own. After Li Qun explained it to his uncle, he was criticized by his uncle.
However, since the car has already been borrowed, it wouldn't be reasonable to leave it unused.
Li Qun went out with his aunt and brought over his father's Mazda.
At dinner time, Liqun brought his father a thermos of food.
My uncle made a dish called Eight Treasure Gourd Duck.
Eight-Treasure Gourd Duck is a regular on the menus of Chinese restaurants during various holidays. This dish is always a must-have during festivals, and it can only be ordered by reservation.
"Wow, your uncle has put in a lot of effort."
After dinner, Liqun watched TV and chatted with her father for a while before going home.
After returning home, Li Qun went back to his room and crawled into the closet, visiting the New York Holy See on Thanksgiving night.
Happy Thanksgiving, Dr. Banner.
"I don't celebrate Thanksgiving."
"Ok."
"Dr. Banner, are you preparing for a magical ritual?" Li Qun asked curiously.
"To be precise, it was preparing for an exorcism ritual."
"On Thanksgiving night, the dead Native Americans will unleash powerful resentment, which will coalesce to form an extremely powerful Native American vengeful spirit."
“This ritual is to expel this vengeful spirit of the Native Americans,” Dr. Bruce Banner said.
"Is there only one vengeful spirit?" Li Qun asked, somewhat puzzled.
"Don't underestimate this Native American vengeful spirit. It lives on by clinging to the resentment of the dead Native Americans and can only be banished, not destroyed," Dr. Banner explained.
"I don't celebrate Thanksgiving because every time I experience Thanksgiving, the resentment of the Native American spirits intensifies."
"If things continue like this, won't this vengeful spirit become invincible?" Li Qun asked worriedly.
"However, the resentment of the Native American vengeful spirit diminishes as it devours the souls of the colonists' descendants."
“In recent years, the resentment of Native American vengeful spirits has actually been weakening,” Dr. Banner explained.
"Do you know why?" Dr. Banner turned to Li Qun and asked.
"I really wish I didn't know."
Dr. Banner smiled upon hearing Li Qun's reply.
"Alright, you should go home now. Vengeful spirits can possess people. It's easier to handle if it's just me alone, but having another person increases the risk."
Li Qun was very obedient; he didn't want to be possessed by a ghost, so he immediately opened a portal and returned to his bedroom.
After Li Qun left, Dr. Banner began the exorcism ritual, activating the magic circle set up on the ground, the first step being to capture the vengeful spirit of the Native Americans.
