But a weathered voice resounded in Li Qun's heart:

The world needs a hero.

Children need a hero.

Heroes are essential.

“Heroes are a must,” Li Qun murmured softly.

"Liqun, what did you say?" Peter didn't hear clearly.

“I gave Wade some special training yesterday so he could perform more like you during the game,” Li Qun said.

“What are my special characteristics?” Peter asked.

"To be precise, it looks more like a red spider."

“Wade will deliberately create some of the signature moves and postures of Red Spider so that the audience will unconsciously cover up the Red Spider you played before,” Li Qun explained.

"Do you regret it?" Li Qun asked Peter.

"Regret what?"

“The prize money for the New York City street fighting champion,” Li Qun said.

No, I don't regret it.

"It's not like I can't participate in competitions anymore."

“If there’s a next time, I’ll attend without covering my face,” Peter said.

“Mary Jane will be there then, right?” Li Qun laughed.

“Liqun, do you want to participate? I feel it would be such a waste if you didn’t,” Peter said.

"I will not participate."

“Unless my father requires me to participate in the competition,” Li Qun replied.

"Why is it your father who asked you to?" Peter asked.

“My kung fu was taught by my father. On the first day he taught me kung fu, he told me that kung fu is not for fighting with others.”

"Yes, kung fu is not for fighting with others, it's for making people brave."

“I’m not brave enough either,” Li Qun said.

“Courage isn’t something you can always show off.”

"That's right."

The car entered Lower Manhattan, and Li Qun looked for a place to park.

"Peter, if one day the world falls into crisis, let's save the world together."

"Shall we save the world together?"

"Yes, to save the world."

Li Qun parked the car neatly in the parking space, turned around and met Peter's gaze.

"Okay, let's save the world together."

"It's a promise then, pinky swear."

"Pinky promise..."

Peter Parker laughed. He felt that Li Qun had suddenly become like a child, as if time had turned back to a kindergarten afternoon.

Chapter 239 Fighting at Home

"You two are late!"

"I drive a Mazda."

"What kind of reason is that?" Gwen really wanted to give Li Qun a piece of her mind.

“It’s not late as long as it hasn’t started yet,” Li Qun said.

“Peter, Peter, look over there,” Li Qun whispered to Peter, pointing to Bruce Banner.

Bruce Banner hadn't trimmed his beard for several days, and his clothes were very casual, making him look quite sloppy.

"Dad, who else?"

Peter only recognized his father, and he raised his hand and waved to him.

The old man noticed Peter waving at him and raised his hand in response.

"It's Bruce."

“Bruce…” Peter instantly realized that the Bruce that Li Qun was talking about could not possibly be Bruce Wayne.

“He looks so much thinner,” Peter whispered in Li Qun’s ear.

“Actually, he’s gained weight,” Li Qun said to Peter.

"Where are you fat?"

"On his stomach, buttocks, and thighs."

"What are you whispering about?" Gwen asked from behind the two of them.

“We were talking about Dad. He’s gained weight recently,” Li Qun said to Gwen as he turned around.

"Is weight gain in older people a good thing?" Gwen asked with concern.

“I don’t know, but it’s always better for older people to gain weight than to lose it,” Li Qun said to Gwen.

"Where is Harry?" Peter asked Gwen.

“He’s over there.” Gwen pointed to Peter, who saw Harry with the White family. He was standing behind Walter’s wheelchair, a bright smile on his face.

“I think Harry, like you, can’t resist becoming family with Stephanie,” Li Qun whispered to Peter, his voice audible to both Gwen and Peter.

“I knew on the first day of school that Harry had fallen for Stephanie at first sight,” Gwen said.

“The biggest obstacle between the two of them is Stephanie’s father,” Li Qun said.

"How did you figure that out?" Gwen asked.

"Harry was the kind of student Mr. Walter hated most: average grades but very rich family."

“Harry will change Mr. Walter’s mind; he’s different from other rich kids,” Peter said.

"Where are the other members of the gang?" Li Qun asked.

“Look around yourself, maybe you can eat at the buffet,” Gwen said.

“Liqun, look, it’s Steve.”

"I saw."

Steve was wearing a white tank top, and his physique was not particularly outstanding compared to boxer Ed and wrestler Alex, while Wade, who was wearing a Starscream mask, was the thinnest of the three.

Wade lowered his head slightly, his back hunched, his posture resembling that of a melancholy young man.

“Doesn’t this look like you?” Li Qun asked Peter in a low voice.

“Where is it similar?” Peter countered.

“What’s different about you? You’re always like this when you’re alone,” Li Qun said.

"Really? This is what I look like when I'm alone?"

Peter plans to go home and use Aunt May's full-length mirror to see if he looks like the character Wade is playing.

Li Qun raised his hand and waved to Steve. Steve and Wade both saw Li Qun and raised their hands to wave back.

As they waved, Steve and Wade looked at each other.

Wade tilted his head and sized up Steve, the toughest opponent he was about to face.

Steve looked at Wade wearing the Starscream mask, and his sixth sense told him that the masked man seemed to know him.

"Go Johnny!!"

Happy Hogan, holding a hot dog, waved to Steve. The building's security supervisor, where Steve worked as a night guard, had also come to watch his final games.

“Wade’s opponents are all formidable,” John Wick said casually.

Among the crowd, John Wick, Helen, Natasha, Yelena, and Lisa watched the game together.

Wade also got a ticket for Frank Castle, but Frank had to work two jobs and couldn't come, so he gave the ticket to Yelena. Yelena had a ticket for herself, and in the end, she brought her "sister" Lisa to watch Wade's game.

Little Lisa sat on Natasha's shoulders, looking around excitedly.

Natasha, Yelena, and Lisa all have blonde hair, and the three of them look like sisters.

“That person is…” John Wick saw Wilson Fisk.

John Wick instinctively sensed the lurking danger in Wilson Fisk.

“Do you know who he is?” Natasha glanced at John Wick.

“I know him. Mr. Wilson ran for mayor this year, but unfortunately he lost,” John Wick said to Natasha.

"Yes."

Natasha realized that it was normal for John, being a retiree, to have limited knowledge of Wilson Fisker.

“What you see on TV and in posters is completely different from the people you see in person,” John Wick said quietly.

“He’s really tall,” Helen whispered in John’s ear.

“Maybe he was once an unknown basketball player,” John teased Helen with a smile, jokingly referring to Wilson Fisk.

"Red Spider" Wade and his opponent, boxer Ed, stepped into the ring, and the atmosphere gradually heated up. The referee signaled to the two men in the ring that they could begin their match.

Wade followed the "Red Spider's" winning strategy, constantly dodging the boxer Ed's attacks.

After undergoing Hulk's attack desensitization training in the mirror dimension, Wade appeared to handle Ed's punches with ease, dodging each one without batting an eye.

"It's time to fight back," Wade muttered to himself.

Wade isn't as strong as Peter, so it's difficult for him to knock out an opponent with a single blow like Peter could. This problem is easily solved; he just needs to practice more.
