"My consolation prize."

Steve stood in the ring and received the trophy and a check for $200,000 after tax, all under the watchful eyes of everyone. Wade, meanwhile, took the check for his appearance fee from the event organizer in the corner.

“You need to see a doctor,” the person in charge said, also concerned about Wade’s health.

"Don't worry about it."

"I have to go now. Please give my regards to Mr. Fisker." Wade walked towards the elevator without looking back.

As he entered the elevator, Wade looked up slightly. He knew there were surveillance cameras inside, and he could vaguely sense that the people in the monitoring room were watching him.

"The $8000 appearance fee is worth it," Wade muttered.

"Can Peter be my agent?"

Wade's only thought was to make money with Peter using the "Red Spider" brand; he had no other intentions.

After leaving Fisk Tower, Wade returned to the Sanctuary as he had the day before.

"You lost."

"Dad, I know."

"Not bad," Dad said.

“I thought you were going to criticize me for something I did wrong, Dad.” Wade sat down on the sofa, his body slumped.

"You must be feeling really unwell. Do you want Dad to rub some medicated wine on your skin?"

"No need, I'll be fine on my own."

"Don't think you're so tough that you can just take care of yourself. You have to take care of your body like you would a car," Dad said seriously.

"Okay, Dad..."

Wade took off his shirt and lay down on the sofa. His father took out some liniment for bruises and sprains and started applying it to Wade's body, while also giving him a massage.

"I'll do it on my legs myself."

Wade took off his jeans, leaving him in only shorts, and seemed a little embarrassed by his dad's "close-knit" concern.

"Do it yourself." The old man didn't leave, but continued to watch Wade from the sofa.

"This wine smells really good, can I drink it?" Wade asked curiously.

"Your mouth will go numb if you drink it," the old man said.

“What does ‘numbness’ feel like?” Wade mimicked his father’s tone when he said ‘numbness’.

"You can give it a try."

Wade brought the bottle to his lips and poured a little into his mouth to taste it.

Soon, Wade felt as if his mouth had touched an electrical wire, and the static from the television filled his mouth.

"Is this 'hemp'?"

"OMG!!"

"Some alkaloid toxins also have the same effect on the human body."

“Yes, my medicinal wine is slightly poisonous,” the old man said to Wade with a smile.

Wade smiled and nodded at his father.

Wade reminded himself that he had to be careful not to touch his father's things, or he would be doomed if he touched something containing a highly toxic substance.

Wade is quite respectful of science; he understands that some highly toxic substances cannot be eliminated from the body once they enter it.

Would you like something to drink?

Dr. Banner, carrying a dozen beers, invited Wade to drink.

"Just drinking?" Wade asked Bruce Banner.

"Do you eat peanuts?" Bruce Banner asked.

"Yes, I'm not allergic to peanuts."

Have you ever eaten braised peanuts?

"Braised peanuts?" Wade had never heard of that term before.

"My dad said that fried peanuts cause internal heat, so he braised a pot of peanuts in a pressure cooker."

"You'll like it," Dad said with a smile.

"What does 'getting too hot' mean? Can you use a word I can understand?" Wade asked, looking confused.

“You need to integrate into our group, not expect us to accommodate you, Wade.”

"'Getting too hot' means that your body has an inflammatory reaction, such as pimples on your chin, nose, and forehead, and a sore tongue," Dad explained.

"Now I understand. There was a time when I really loved eating fried food, to the point that my tongue got blisters."

"Does your self-healing ability work for getting a sore throat?" Dr. Banner asked on a whim.

"Can we give it a try?" Wade asked, intrigued.

"Dad, what's the most likely thing to cause internal heat?" Dr. Banner asked.

"There is no single food that is the most 'heaty', but I know what foods will cause this."

"What is it?"

Fried duck.

"After roasting the duck, it's deep-fried until the bones are crispy, then sprinkled with dried chili powder. After eating one fried duck, your tongue will get blisters," the old man described vividly.

"I'm going to buy two ducks." Dr. Banner immediately used magic to change his clothes and headed straight for Chinatown.

"Banner, did you bring your wallet?" Dad reminded him.

"Oh! I forgot, I don't have any money on me." Dr. Banner came to his senses.

“Let me handle this. I just made some money. Are two roast ducks enough?” Wade said.

"Then let's buy three roast ducks."

Wade took out his wallet and handed the money for the roast duck to Dr. Banner.

……

Li Qun drove back to Chinatown, where the traffic was arguably the worst in all of New York. Passing a roast duck restaurant, Li Qun saw Dr. Banner, his face turning green, queuing outside the roast duck deli, with people constantly cutting in line at the pick-up counter.

Ten minutes later, Liqun parked his father's Mazda in the parking space.

"Liqun, you're back. Have you had dinner yet?" Auntie asked Liqun as he returned to the Chinese restaurant.

"Auntie, I've already eaten. Has Shuangxi eaten?"

"He already solved it."

Liqun went upstairs, while Shuangxi watched TV in the living room.

"Cousin, you're back! I saw the live broadcast of the match!" Shuangxi turned to look at Liqun from the sofa, his face full of excitement.

"I have an autographed photo of Johnny, I'll give it to you."

"Thank you, cousin! I'll hang this autographed photo up."

"Why is it a signed photo of Red Spider?"

“This is the one.” Li Qun took back the autographed photo of Wade dressed as Red Spider and handed the autographed photo of Steve to Shuangxi.

"How is Red Spider? When he stood up for the last time, it looked like both his arms were broken," Shuangxi asked with concern.

“It was actually a dislocation, but he put his arm back in place himself,” Li Qun explained.

"Just thinking about it hurts."

"Yes."

Li Qun returned to his room, and the door clicked softly as it was locked.

Shuangxi continued watching TV.

Li Qun would lock the door to her room; her aunt had expressed concern about this.

Liqun used the excuse that he needed to concentrate on preparing for the exam to get his aunt to accept that he would lock the door to his room.

After passing through the portal to the Sanctuary in New York, Dr. Banner returned with roast duck, ready to fry the chopped duck pieces.

"Low-temperature frying, or high-temperature frying?" Dr. Banner asked his father.

In the kitchen, Wade and his father waited for Dr. Banner to put the roast duck into the oil.

"Why not just eat it directly?" Li Qun walked into the kitchen and asked the three people, puzzled.

"The minors who can only drink juice have arrived; let's leave the adults alone," Wade joked.

Li Qun observed the three adults, trying to guess who was the idea mastermind.

Chapter 246 Peanut Butter Allergy

The withdrawal symptoms after the holiday were experienced by every student at Midtown High School.

In the classroom, very few students pay attention to the lesson. Whispering, passing notes, eating snacks... the teachers ignore all of the students' inattentive behavior.

The teachers were the same, just reading from the textbooks in a dry, lifeless way.

On my first day back at school, the four morning classes were an ordeal. When I arrived at the school cafeteria for lunch, the noise was fifty times louder than usual, and normal conversations were completely inaudible.

Liqun brought an extra box of braised peanuts today as a snack after the meal.

"what is this?"

Harry picked up a braised peanut. His father's braised peanuts were braised in their shells, and no one else had ever seen peanuts in their shells before.

“These are peanuts.” Li Qun looked at Harry with a puzzled expression.

“How could this be a peanut?” Harry frowned as he examined the peanut in its shell.

"Have you ever seen peanuts that haven't been shelled?" Li Qun turned to look at the others.

In the corner of the restaurant where Li Qun and his friends usually ate lunch, several tables around the perimeter had been designated as the territory of the twelve members of the Kung Fu Club.
