America: A Prodigy of Stereotypes

“I understand satisfying my friend’s curiosity,” Dad said.
“I’ll take them to the rooftop,” Li Qun said, pointing upwards.
“Wade is on the rooftop,” the old man said.
"I see."
The old man followed him to the rooftop, where Wade was exercising.
"Wade, I need to use the court."
"What's the show?" Wade asked Li Qun with a smile.
"Who is this kid?" Wade asked Joe.
"Mrs. Chen's son, Joe, Wade."
"The light was a bit dim, I couldn't see clearly."
Wade walked over to Joe and took a good look at him.
"Have you eaten?" Wade greeted Joe in Chinese.
“I ate,” Joe replied to Wade in English.
Why don't you speak Chinese?
“He won’t,” the old man said to Wade.
"How can you not know how?" Wade looked at Joe in bewilderment.
“But he can understand it,” Shuangxi said.
“If Liqun hadn’t come, Shuangxi, you would have become like Qiao. You can understand, but you can’t speak,” the old man said to Shuangxi.
Joe felt a little guilty, and his mood became irritable again.
Liqun and Shuangxi took off their jackets and put them aside, then did a few simple warm-up exercises.
"Want me to join?" Wade asked Li Qun.
"That's fine too."
"I'm coming!"
Shuangxi was stunned when he saw Wade join the "battle". He and Wade flanked Liqun in the middle of the court.
"Let me think, what move would be better?" Wade stroked his chin, deep in thought.
"Use a stick."
The old man picked up three long sticks and threw them to the three men.
The moment they caught the stick, the three men knew how to "hit" it.
Joe stared in disbelief. The lighting on the rooftop was poor, and he couldn't quite make out the trajectory of the three people swinging their sticks.
The stick in Shuangxi's hand was knocked away by Liqun, and he fell to the side the next moment. His father pulled Shuangxi up from the ground.
"You're out," Dad joked with a laugh.
"Qiao, did you see that?" Shuangxi wiped the sweat from her brow and asked Qiao.
Qiao nodded vigorously to Shuangxi.
"I request to use the short stick next time!" Wade was struggling to defend himself against Li Qun's onslaught.
"Then next time."
Li Qun knocked the stick out of Wade's hand and retrieved it.
Wade also gave up, panting as he walked to the chair and sat down.
Li Qun put on his coat and turned to look at Shuangxi and Qiao.
"Does your school have a kung fu club?" Li Qun asked.
"No." Shuangxi shook her head.
"How about you try starting a kung fu club at your school?" Li Qun suggested.
"Too much trouble."
Shuangxi shook his head vigorously, while Liqun nodded in understanding.
"Does Midtown High School have a kung fu club?" Joe asked.
“It didn’t exist before; a friend encouraged us to create it last semester,” Li Qun said.
"Got it? Haha, sounds like an unplanned pregnancy." Wade laughed from the side.
"It was quite unexpected for me. When a few of us applied to the school to start a club, we had very mixed feelings," Li Qun said.
"You're about to graduate, will the club disband with you?" Qiao Xiangli asked.
"No, there are younger members in the club, and they will keep the club going."
"What kind of kung fu do you teach them?" Joe asked.
"Tai Chi".
"Is Tai Chi considered kung fu?"
"Joe, come here for a second." Li Qun beckoned to Joe.
"Qiao, don't be afraid, it will be over soon," Shuangxi said with a smile.
"What do you mean?" Qiao turned around and glanced at Shuangxi.
"Qiao, have you ever learned Tai Chi?" Li Qun asked.
"No."
"I'll teach you two tricks now."
Li Qun stood beside Qiao and taught him two moves of Tai Chi. When he finished teaching, Qiao lay down on the ground.
How did I end up lying on the ground?
"Like this, like this, and like this again."
Joe, who had just stood up, said "why?" and then lay down again.
The second lesson was in slow motion, and Joe finally understood why he was lying on the ground.
"Isn't it interesting to teach people kung fu?" the old man asked Liqun with a smile.
“It’s very interesting to teach newbies who don’t know anything,” Li Qun replied to his father with a smile.
“It’s getting late, Qiao, you should go home.” Li Qun pointed to his arm.
"it is good."
"Shuangxi, don't just stand there, let's take Qiao back together." Liqun called out to Shuangxi.
Walking down the street, a cold wind blew, and Joe's face turned red.
"Joe, you're too thin. You need to eat more and gain some weight," Li Qun said to Joe.
"I can not do it."
Will Chapter 282 come again?
Before Columbia University's acceptance letter arrived at his home, Peter received an acceptance letter from "The Social" University.
At one in the morning, Peter sat with the homeless men around a bonfire in the park, chatting. Most of the time, Peter listened, while the homeless men talked.
The homeless people called Peter an "alien" as a way of mocking the difference between Peter's perception of society and the society they struggled to survive in.
"America is doomed. If I live another thirty years, I can see the day the end of the world comes."
“It won’t die, Ron. I’ll still be alive at least thirty years from now,” Peter said.
"Alien, why do you think it won't be destroyed? My experiences in the first half of my life have convinced me that it will be destroyed."
“If it goes down, everyone will be in a terrible situation, and I don’t want it to go down,” Peter said.
“I begged all day and only got less than $20, which is terrible.”
"Hey, hand over the money."
"Did you see that? He robbed me right in front of you. How could such an absurd thing happen?"
“You said you had $20. You shouldn’t have any money on you.”
"Less than 20 US dollars!!"
"Hehehe! Stop fighting! You guys separate!"
Peter began to mediate, using a little force to hold down the two white homeless men.
"I don't want you bringing us food every night. You should give each of us a gun and take us to rob a bank; we'd definitely succeed."
“That’s a crime, never do that.” Peter turned to look at another homeless man.
"How many people have money in the bank? Where does the money in the bank come from? Aliens, you should investigate this question."
"Can we stop talking about robbing banks?" Peter said helplessly.
"I've never robbed a bank in my life, it would be great to rob one before I die."
“Maybe you died while robbing the bank?” Peter asked.
"Besides banks, where do people keep their money?" a homeless man asked.
“Now I know why I have to rob a bank,” Peter said.
“They stole our money and they keep robbing other people’s money. We have to get our money back.”
"I wonder what they need so much money for?"
"Alien, do you feel ashamed of money?"
Peter was stumped.
To be honest, he really did have a strange sense of shame about "money".
