America: A Prodigy of Stereotypes

“We old fogies need to keep up with the times. I want to create a website for the Daily Bugle,” Jameson said.
“I’ll ask Peter when I get home,” Uncle Ben said.
"Shouldn't this kind of thing be done by a more professional internet company?" Uncle Ben asked Jameson.
“The price was outrageous, and there was a lot of stuff they were saying that I didn’t understand. It felt like a scam,” Jameson said.
"It's good to be cautious," Uncle Ben nodded.
"I made some inquiries, and some smart young people can create a beautiful website all by themselves..."
"I understand, you want your money to be well spent."
“If Peter can’t handle it by himself, he can bring along his classmates,” Jameson said.
"Are you sure Peter can handle this?" Uncle Ben laughed.
“That’s your nephew. I believe in his abilities. You’re paying for his education, not to let him become a useless person.”
"Jameson, you're being way too blunt."
“I certainly wouldn’t say that to Peter’s face,” Jameson said.
Ben Parker drove home after leaving the Daily Bugle building; the sun had already set, and the western sky was still faintly bright.
Ben placed his briefcase on the passenger seat.
The night before last, when Peter got the car back, the robber's gun was left on the passenger seat, and his stolen wallet was also left there, but the money in the wallet was gone.
This afternoon, while reviewing the manuscript, Uncle Ben discovered that there was more to the story about the robber Peter had hung on the lamppost.
A kind passerby called the police and firefighters, who rescued the man late at night. After questioning him, the police arrested him and took him to the police station. The suspect in the series of robberies was finally found.
Uncle Ben drove for an hour and when he got home, dinner was already on the table. Peter and Aunt May were waiting for him to come home so they could eat.
"Guess who did all this."
"I guess you made these dishes, and Peter made these two."
"Actually, Peter did all the work; I just helped out a little," Aunt May said with a smile.
"I'll try it."
"Hmm...this tastes really is different, you could call it Peter's taste," Uncle Ben joked with a smile.
“School lets out at 3:30 in the afternoon now, so I get home early and don’t have much to do. Preparing dinner won’t be a problem,” Peter said.
After dinner, Aunt May and the dishwasher worked together to wash the dishes, while Uncle Ben took his briefcase to Peter's room to give him some pointers on his superhero activities.
“I heard from Gwen that the crime rate in New York has been declining in recent years, so how come there are still so many crimes?” Peter was very surprised when Uncle Ben showed him the data.
“The problem of high crime rates in New York City will never be solved unless the root causes are addressed,” Uncle Ben said.
"What is the fundamental problem?"
"You need to read more books," Uncle Ben said.
“Let’s change the subject, Peter. Do you know how to make websites?” Uncle Ben asked Peter.
“Yes, it’s not difficult for me,” Peter replied.
“What if we were to create an official website for the Daily Bugle?” Uncle Ben continued to ask.
"It's a bit difficult, but I can do it very well if I have enough time."
"Is the Daily Bugle looking to create an official website?" Peter asked.
"Peter, this summer after graduation you're going to earn your first pot of gold."
"Can I invite my friends?" Peter asked.
“You could even start a small company,” Uncle Ben said.
Chapter 318 Graduation Means Breakup
"Every day like this is one less day to go. I don't know when we'll be able to get together for lunch again after graduation."
At noon, in a corner of the school cafeteria, Harry sighed.
He took out a bottle of medicine from his bag, shook out two green pills from his hand, and swallowed them.
"What kind of medicine is that?" Li Qun asked.
“My dad gave it to me. It’s a new drug that’s still in the lab, used to treat allergies,” Harry replied.
“Harry, aren’t you basically using yourself as a test subject for the drug?” Peter looked at Harry with concern.
“My dad said this medicine was specifically developed for me, and he was absolutely certain he could give it to me,” Harry told Peter.
"Do you feel it's working?" Gwen asked.
“It seems to be working. My dad said I need to complete a full course of treatment before I see any significant changes, and that I shouldn’t risk it too early to see if my allergies have improved,” Harry said.
"All medications have side effects. What are the side effects of this medication?" Li Qun asked with concern.
"It can affect a person's hormone secretion, leading to greater mood swings, that's what my dad said," Harry replied.
“There’s another side effect, I’ll tell you about it after lunch.” Harry smiled mysteriously.
"No, I think I have a guess," Li Qun said, extending his hand.
“Peter would never guess.” Harry turned to look at Peter.
"I just don't want to guess."
"Guess."
“I haven’t finished eating yet, don’t ruin my appetite,” Peter said.
"Okay, I won't say anymore, lest you all hate me," Harry said with a smile.
Before graduation, they have one last exam to take. After this exam, they will receive a complete high school transcript, which they will need to submit to the university when they register for enrollment.
Right now, all they're doing at school is studying for this final exam.
However, they will complete the departure procedures a week before the start of this final exam, and will only return to school twice more, for the exam and graduation ceremony.
Before leaving school, they have to empty their lockers, return the books they borrowed from the library, and take all their personal belongings with them.
Some people have made this analogy: they and their high school are like a couple living together, who break up upon graduation, each wanting to separate everything cleanly, leaving nothing for the other.
Entering a university is much like joining a new religion. You acquire a new cultural symbol, are instilled with a new worldview along with many others, and learn a new way of life... The university you graduate from will leave a lasting imprint on you for life.
……
After school ended at 3:30 p.m., Li Qun went through the portal and headed straight for the New York Holy See.
"Dr. Banner, come and take a look at this!"
"what?"
Li Qun took out a wad of toilet paper, and inside the wad were two small green pills that Harry had taken.
“Harry’s father gave him this medicine, and he’s been taking it for a while now. Harry says the side effect is that it makes people more emotionally sensitive,” Liqun told Dr. Banner.
"What are the effects of the drug?" Dr. Banner asked.
“Treat Harry’s allergies,” Li Qun replied.
“At this rate, Osborn will have to turn into a pharmaceutical company,” Dr. Banner said.
"Is the human enhancement serum they developed really going to be used as a panacea?" Li Qun expressed his concern.
"In a way, it really could be considered a panacea, but only a tiny minority of eight percent of the world's wealth can afford it. The biggest limitation is the raw materials, unless they find a way to synthesize it industrially," Dr. Banner said.
“The last piece of the puzzle is in our hands: Wade’s father’s biotechnology,” Li Qun said.
“I think there must be other places where Wade’s father’s research materials are preserved, and what Wade gave me is not the only one,” Dr. Banner said.
“I feel like we’re the perverts now, spying on them all day long,” Li Qun said.
"What else can we do besides observe them every day? Kill them? They haven't done anything to destroy the world yet," Dr. Banner retorted.
"I'm going home now, I'll come back later," Li Qun said.
"Get me some late-night snacks," Dr. Banner called out to Li Qun.
"Understood." Li Qun disappeared into the portal.
Li Qun walked out of the portal and arrived at a rooftop in Chinatown. He jumped off the rooftop and landed steadily in the alleys on both sides of the building.
He pretended to have just walked from the station.
Passing by a roast meat shop, Liqun went in and bought a roast duck for Dr. Banner, a roast duck for his father and Wade, a third roast duck for Shuangxi, his uncle and aunt, and a fourth roast duck for Mrs. Chen, Joe and Mr. Chen.
Liqun took a detour to the laundry shop and delivered the roast duck to Mrs. Chen; then he went to his father's pawn shop and placed the roast duck in the kitchen on the second floor; after returning home, he and Shuangxi ate half of the roast duck and put the remaining half in the refrigerator.
"I've never seen anyone as generous as you, buying four roast ducks in one go," Shuangxi said to Liqun, looking at the roast ducks he was going to give to Dr. Banner.
“The reason is simple: I have money, and I don’t do this every day,” Li Qun said.
“I’ve counted, you do this every week. Today it’s roast duck, last week you bought fruit,” Shuangxi said.
“Part of my personality is that I love to share. Shuangxi, do you really want to watch me eat a whole roast duck by myself today?” Liqun said.
"I don't want to," Shuangxi shook her head.
"now it's right."
“But Mom would say that the money should be kept for our own family to earn. We can make roast duck too, and it tastes better than other families,” Shuangxi said.
"I'm going to my dad's," Li Qun said.
"I'm watching TV at home," Shuangxi said.
When Liqun arrived at the pawnshop, his father cooked a few side dishes, which he served with roast duck and Wade, along with some wine. That was their dinner for the night.
"Liqun, do you know what? We caught a thief today," Wade said to Liqun.
"A thief broke into the pawnshop? He's just unlucky."
"And he's not just any thief, he's a thief who's been in the newspapers. This poor guy's been the culprit in several recent burglaries in Queens," Wade said with a laugh.
“I thought it was like going into a supermarket or convenience store and petty theft,” Li Qun said.
"No, that guy climbed up the fire escape outside the wall to the second floor. He searched for a long time but couldn't find anything he thought was valuable. Instead, he alerted Dad, and Dad gave him a good beating."
