“We’ll talk about the rest back at the law firm,” Fergie said, turning to Peter and the others.

“Why did you stop?” Peter asked.

“The rest is paid content,” Fergie said to Peter with a smile.

“You know what? Running a law firm is not easy. The monthly rent is like a mountain that makes it hard to breathe. I also have to work a second job at night. I take care of him like a father.” Foggy said, looking at Matt.

“It’s not that I didn’t try to find part-time jobs, but as soon as they saw I was blind, they told me to go home and wait for news,” Matt said.

“The most important thing in life is to have a conscience. The reason we lawyers are always so poor is because we have such a strong conscience,” Foggie said to Matt.

"Don't say these things in front of your juniors."

"Them? Are they Columbia students too?" Virgil asked.

“It’ll be after we start school in the fall,” Matt said.

"What are you majoring in?" Fergie asked, turning his head.

“Science and engineering majors, not social sciences, finance, or law,” Peter replied.

“That’s pretty hardcore, but the country’s development trend is the opposite of what you’re trying to learn,” Fergie said.

“We have a good friend who studies finance, but he’s not here today,” Peter said.

"What does his family do? Studying finance is useless without a family background."

“Then it’s a good match for his major,” Peter said.

"What do your elders do for a living? Will they be able to help you after graduation?" Virgil asked.

“A newspaper editor, a restaurant chef, a chemistry teacher, and a New York police officer,” Li Qun said.

“Your family must be head chefs at a restaurant,” Fergie said with a smile to Li Qun.

“Let me guess, the NYPD is your family’s background.” Fergie then pointed at Gwen.

“Your chemistry teacher is your home, isn’t he?” Virginia smiled at Peter.

“You guessed wrong,” Peter said.

“My dad works at Osborne Industries now,” Stephanie said.

"Did you know? A mature adult will use all the resources at their disposal, including the help of family and friends."

“You can just ask your family for help with legal advice before starting a company. Trying to prove your abilities without your family’s help is the most foolish thing you can do,” Fergie said.

“What Foggie is implying is that he thinks you don’t have the money to cover the follow-up consultation fees,” Matt said from the side.

“How about I treat you to dinner? That way we can prove we can afford the consulting fees,” Gwen said.

"Matt and I don't ask for much, just treat us to Chinese fast food will do," Foggy said with a smile.

Matt's clothes were dry, and Virginia helped Matt take them out of the dryer, tidied them up, and put them in a bag.

They left the laundromat.

Matt walked in front, holding his white cane, with Peter following behind Virginia. They were going to the supermarket.

"Hey, what's wrong with you? Can't you watch where you're going?"

A person walked towards Matt and bumped into him, knocking his cane off his hand, and then angrily berated Matt, the lawyer.

"Hey! What's wrong with you? You weren't watching where you were going!" Foggy grabbed the other man's collar.

"Let go, fat man!"

"Do you want to fight?" Fergie said angrily.

“Fergie, leave him to us. We’re still two months away from being adults.” Li Qun stepped forward and, together with Peter, flanked the unreasonable passerby.

"Apologize to my friend right now, or you'll be in trouble today," Li Qun said to the other party.

"Wow! Wow! Wow! So you're bullying the weak, huh?"

The arrogant passerby raised his hands and bumped into the Liqun again.

"Fine, forget it, I won't reason with you anymore." Li Qun said, punching the man in the jaw, knocking him unconscious on the spot.

Li Qun helped the man up and placed him on a wall corner by the street, letting him fall asleep like a homeless person.

“He’ll sleep here for a while and wake up before dark,” Li Qun said.

"Wow!" Fuge exclaimed to Liqun.

"It's kung fu, isn't it!" Fergie asked excitedly.

“Yes.” Li Qun nodded in response calmly.

“If I were to learn kung fu, I could definitely lose weight,” Fergie said.

“Let’s hurry up and go,” Peter said.

Peter was worried that other passersby would call the police.

“We’re lawyers, so there’s no need to worry about calling the police,” Virginia told Peter.

“Okay, let’s stop reinforcing their stereotypes about lawyers,” Matt said, patting Foggy on the shoulder.

“This is not a stereotype at all; this kid really knows kung fu,” Foggie emphasized.

Matt, holding his white cane, continued walking at the front as they entered the supermarket.

While waiting in line at the checkout, Matt was cut in line again, and Foggy yelled at the person who had cut in line to get rid of them.

"Did you see that? Matt's day is just so terrible, everyone wants to bully him."

“My dad and I sometimes encounter this situation when we go to the supermarket,” Li Qun said casually.

"This society is rotten!" Foggie shouted, venting his frustration.

"Hurry up!" someone at the back of the checkout line shouted to the person in front.

“96 dollars,” the cashier told Virginia and Matt.

“Here’s $101. Give me $5 in change,” Foggy said.

The cashier ignored Virginia, returned $1 to him, and gave him $4 in change.

“These people are terrible at math!” Fergie shouted.

The cashier frowned at Foggie, then forcefully tore off the receipt and put it into the shopping bag.

Chapter 326 I Can't Breathe

"The last component has finally arrived."

Bruce Banner opened the package and took out the metal parts inside.

"They're quite kind; they made two extra spare parts," Dr. Banner muttered.

"Let's try to get the machine assembled tonight, and then we'll invite Mrs. Chen over tomorrow," Dr. Banner said to Li Qun.

"I'm ready." Li Qun squeezed some disinfectant into his palm and spread it evenly on his hands.

Li Qun was just an assistant; he did whatever Dr. Banner told him to do. The atomizer's design was in Dr. Banner's head, and the assembly process of the machine took more than four hours.

"Wade, wake up, it's your turn to play."

"what?"

Dr. Banner patted Wade's face, and Wade leaned back on the sofa and fell asleep.

Wade picked up the breathing mask and put it on, while Dr. Banner pressed the start switch.

"It smells like engine oil, it smells really good." Wade's voice was a little muffled through his breathing mask.

"Are you sure?" Dr. Banner frowned.

"Don't believe me? Try it yourself!" Wade asked Dr. Banner.

"let me."

Dr. Banner stopped the nebulizer, Wade removed his mask, and Dr. Banner disinfected the breathing mask before putting it on himself.

"Is that right?" Wade asked.

Dr. Banner stopped the machine again. He disassembled the machine casing, took off a few parts, cleaned them in the kitchen, and then reassembled them.

"This doesn't seem very reliable to me," Wade said, looking at Li Qun.

“It’s just a minor issue,” Li Qun said.

“Wade, why don’t you give it a try now?” Dr. Banner said.

Wade put on a breathing mask again.

“Yes, this time it’s a refreshing citrus scent,” Wade said.

"The kitchen detergent is citrus scented."

“Don’t worry, the smell will be gone soon,” Dr. Banner told Wade.

Five or six minutes later, Wade reported to Dr. Banner that the fresh citrus scent had disappeared.

"If you put some psychotropic drugs in there, I wonder how pleasurable it would be," Wade said.

"Don't even think about it." Dr. Banner kicked Wade.

"I was just saying."

"Wade, don't even think about trying it on your own, it's dangerous," Dr. Banner warned Wade.

"Can I put coffee in the machine? To atomize the coffee?" Wade asked.

“No.” Dr. Banner shook his head.

"Don't treat my machine like a toy, Wade."

“Okay, I was just kidding.” Wade smiled at Dr. Banner.

“Let’s discuss how to coax Mrs. Chen over here,” Wade said seriously.

“Don’t use the word ‘deceive.’ Mrs. Chen’s recovery depends on this,” Li Qun said.

“I will speak with Mrs. Chen in person, so you don’t need to worry about it,” Dr. Banner said.
