Ainz Ooal Gown: Noble Knight

Naberal sat beside him, her long hair tied in a high ponytail. Her delicate, snow-white skin shimmered like pearls in the sunlight, her face indifferent, as if she had no interest in anything.
There was a knock on the door.
"Please come in."
Feifei's voice came from under the helmet.
The door was pushed open, and a gaunt man strode in.
He was wearing a dark blue tuxedo with an elaborate bow tie at the collar, and his mustache was neatly trimmed. His small eyes were fixed on Feifei.
"Mr. Fei Fei of the 'Dark' Squad, a team of steel-class adventurers?" The man bowed slightly. "I am Chenako, a baron of the kingdom, and I have come to pay my respects on the orders of His Highness Prince Balbro."
His manners were impeccable, without a single fault.
Feifei stood up to return the greeting and raised her hand to indicate, "Please sit, Baron Chenaco."
Thank you.
Chenako straightened up, shifting his gaze from Feifei, and then...
He saw Nabella.
The woman sitting next to the black-clad warrior had long, ink-black hair and a face as exquisite as a statue enshrined in a temple.
Baron Chernaco's breath caught in his throat for a moment.
His small eyes were wide open, his lips were slightly parted, and his mustache curled up along with his lips.
I felt like I was nailed to the spot, and I even forgot to take a step.
"...This must be Miss 'Beautiful Girl' Nabe." His voice was much softer than before, as if afraid of disturbing some fragile treasure. "It's an honor to meet you."
Although not highly intelligent, Baron Chenaco, with his exceptionally high sleaziness, quickly made a decision.
He walked quickly to Nabella, bent down, and reached out his hand as if to kiss the back of her hand.
Naberal remained still, letting Baron Chenaco bend over, one hand hanging in mid-air, unsure whether to advance or retreat.
The silence lasted for three seconds.
Baron Chenaco straightened up, his smile undiminished. He told himself that beautiful women are born with tempers, which was perfectly normal.
The Baron took two steps back and sat down in the chair opposite Fei Fei.
“Mr. Fei Fei,” his gaze couldn’t help but drift toward Naberal, “I had already heard of the reputation of the ‘Dark’ Squad back in the capital. Seeing them today, I can see that their reputation is well-deserved.”
As he said this, his gaze inadvertently fell on the tips of Nabella's shoes.
Naberal frowned slightly; she was about to lose her temper.
Baron Chenaco noticed it, but he found Nabe's frowning, disdainful face rather charming.
“Baron Chenaco,” Fei Fei’s voice broke the delicate atmosphere, “You just said you came on the orders of His Highness the Crown Prince. May I ask what business His Highness has with you?”
"Ah, yes, yes, yes."
Baron Chenaco snapped out of his reverie, took out a neatly folded handkerchief from his pocket, and wiped non-existent sweat from his forehead, trying to appear like a gentleman.
He put the handkerchief away, sat up straight, and looked like a proper messenger.
"His Highness has always admired the strong." His tone took on a formal, resounding tone. "Your Highness has heard of the 'Dark' Squad's feat of advancing to the Steel rank. Subduing the Forest Wise King and the Western Serpent, and slaying the Eastern Giant—such strength is among the best in the entire kingdom."
Feifei remained motionless and showed no reaction.
“Therefore,” Baron Chenaco continued, “His Highness wishes to hire Mr. Fei Fei to be in charge of His Highness’s security.”
His face broke into an even more solicitous smile.
"As for the compensation, His Highness said it will definitely satisfy Mr. Fei Fei."
This was the eldest prince's plan: first, to keep Feifei by his side, and then to conquer him with his personal charm.
The eldest prince, who felt quite self-satisfied, made this plan.
Feifei didn't answer immediately; his gaze, hidden beneath his helmet, fell on Baron Chenaco's face as if he were assessing something.
Baron Chernaco felt a little uncomfortable under that gaze, but he quickly shifted his attention to another direction, turning his head to look at Naberal.
“Miss Nabe,” he rubbed his hands together, “the task of protecting His Highness the Crown Prince is not complicated. With your looks and demeanor, Miss Nabe will surely become the focus of the banquet when you arrive in the capital.”
As he spoke, his eyes were fixed on Nabella's face, from her eyebrows to her lips, his gaze so intense it was almost slick with desire.
Naberal finally spoke.
"Are you a paramecium, a brainless single-celled organism? I wouldn't mind gouging your eyes out with a spoon."
Her voice was as cold as the frost that never melts in a prison.
Baron Chernaco's smile froze.
The air in the reception room instantly turned cold.
Baron Chenaco opened his mouth, and the fake smile on his face tore in half, revealing a hint of real anger.
But he did not have an attack.
'His Highness's mission…' he repeated this phrase to himself, 'The mission is crucial, the mission is crucial.'
He took a deep breath, suppressing his anger. The muscles at the corner of his mouth twitched slightly, then he put on a smile again.
“Miss Nabe is quite the joker.” His voice was a little hoarse, but he was still trying to maintain a polite tone.
Feifei broke the somewhat heavy atmosphere.
"Nabe, don't be rude to the guests."
Naberal pursed her lips, refraining from saying anything more offensive.
But her reluctance was almost written all over her delicate face.
Baron Chenaco secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
'As expected of a Steel-level adventurer, even managing people is so skillful.' He silently gave Feifei a few points in his mind.
"Mr. Feifei is indeed adept at managing his subordinates." He chuckled twice, then steered the conversation back on track, "So, regarding the hiring of His Highness the Crown Prince..."
"Sure," Feifei answered readily.
Baron Chernaco's eyes lit up.
"Mr. Feifei agreed?"
"Hmm." Feifei nodded slightly. "I have no objection."
Baron Chenaco nearly jumped out of his chair, and the smile on his face finally regained some of its genuine warmth.
"That's wonderful!" the Baron exclaimed excitedly. "His Highness will be very pleased to know!"
He stood up and paced back and forth in the reception room.
"So, when can Mr. Feifei set off? Of course, the sooner the better."
Feifei paused for a moment, as if making final considerations.
“I have no problems on my end either, let’s do it tomorrow,” he said. “We can make some preparations today and leave tomorrow.”
Chapter 51 Ainz's Test
“Very well!” Baron Chenaco nodded repeatedly. “Then I will go back and prepare the carriages and horses. Tomorrow morning, I will wait for Mr. Fei Fei and Miss Nabe at the city gate.”
After he finished speaking, he bowed to Fei Fei in farewell, then turned to Naberal, hesitated for a moment, and bowed to her in the same way.
"Mr. Feifei, Ms. Nabe, see you tomorrow."
The smile on Baron Chenaco's gaunt face never faded. He turned and walked toward the door, his steps as light as if he were walking on clouds.
The door was gently closed.
The footsteps gradually faded away, echoing in the corridor for a few moments before finally disappearing in the direction of the stairs.
The meeting room fell silent.
Naberal finally turned her gaze back.
"Tsk."
When she uttered that syllable, her voice was filled with undisguised disgust.
“There are just too many useless nobles in the kingdom.” Her gaze fell on Fei Fei, her eyes filled with a hint of annoyance. “This paramecium actually looks at me like that.”
Feifei did not respond.
“That baron,” Narberal continued, “reeked of nausea from head to toe. If it weren’t for Lord Ainz’s plan…”
"Nabe." Feifei's voice interrupted her.
Naberal shut her mouth, but the displeasure on her face did not diminish in the slightest.
Feifei turned her head to the side, and her gaze, hidden beneath the full-face helmet, fell on her face.
“Tolerating idiots is indeed a very difficult thing,” Fei Fei began to comfort Narberal, “but this matter concerns Lord Ainz’s plans.”
He paused.
"I hope you can be patient for now."
Naberal pursed her lips, offering no rebuttal.
The reason the eldest prince was able to quickly learn about the Black Squad was because the information was deliberately passed on by Demiurge.
As Demiurge had predicted, the eldest prince sent a baron to win him over.
Feifei and Nabella already knew the Baron would be coming.
Naberal was silent for a moment, then her lips twitched slightly.
"really."
"The only purpose of this paramecium is to obediently walk in according to the script."
Then Nabe turned her head and looked out the window.
"Hopefully, by then," she said, almost to herself, "we'll be able to get rid of some of the cockroaches."
