It was enormous, with a muscular body covered in black and red scales.

It has a face with fangs, eyes burning with golden flames, and two curved giant horns extending from its forehead. Behind it unfolds a pair of enormous membranous wings, with a wingspan of over five meters, and magma-like patterns flowing across the wing membranes.

At the ends of its thick arms were sharp claws, their fingertips gleaming with a metallic sheen. A long, serpentine tail swayed slowly behind it, its tip burning with an inextinguishable flame.

Level 84.

"Lord Demiurge." The wrathful demon knelt on one knee.

Demiurge ignored the demon general kneeling before him, raised his hand, and cast a sound amplification spell.

The magic spread through the night sky, carrying his voice clearly to every corner of the capital.

"I am Rashael, the Demon King of the Dark Abyss."

His voice was deep and authoritative, carrying a strong sense of oppression, and echoed in the sky above the capital.

"I sensed the call of humans here, and tore through the void to get here. At the same time, I am also searching for my companion, the vampire Henpenetrini."

He paused for a moment, giving the people of the capital ample time to process what he had said.

"If you can tell me the whereabouts of Heniupenzi, I will spare this city. Otherwise, the waves of demons will grow stronger and stronger until this city is completely wiped off the map."

"Unless one of you is powerful enough to destroy me and kill me before a more powerful demon arrives, destruction is your only fate."

After he finished speaking, the capital fell into a brief silence.

Then panic spread like a plague.

"The Demon King... the Demon King said he wants to find vampires..."

"Henniupei Niuzi? What's that?"

"A vampire...didn't a vampire appear outside Yelantier City before? The one with silver hair and red eyes..."

"Yes, yes, yes! I heard from the Adventurers' Guild that the vampire killed a lot of people and then disappeared!"

"So that vampire is the Demon King's ally?"

Discussions arose one after another, and everyone realized the same problem.

No one knows the whereabouts of that vampire.

On the other side, Brian had already met up with Gerdoff and looked up in the direction from which the sound came.

"Demon King... Rashael."

Brian's expression was rather grim.

“Vampire…” Brian muttered, “Herbie… what kind of weird name is that?”

He remembered that night, the silver-haired, red-eyed vampire.

She deflected all his slashes with her little finger and then chased after him like a cat chasing a mouse.

He will never forget that despair.

“Geoff,” Brian said, his voice a little hoarse.

"Ok?"

"That vampire is the one I fought."

There was no surprise in Gerd's eyes; he had already guessed some of it from Brian's description.

“The Demon King said that the vampire was his partner,” Brian continued. “That terrifying creature actually has partners…”

He took a deep breath.

"We can't possibly win."

Gerdoff remained silent for a moment.

“I know,” he said.

"So you still want to go?"

Gerdoff didn't answer, but simply looked up in the direction from which the voice came. On the distant horizon, a dark red light was still flickering.

Brian looked at his profile; there was no hesitation on his face.

"Tch." Brian clicked his tongue and scratched his hair hard. "I knew it."

He turned around and looked in another direction.

That's the direction outside the capital, a safe way out where there are no demons or fire.

He planned to run away.

With his strength, it wouldn't be difficult for him to extricate himself from this chaos.

The demon king was looking for vampires, which had nothing to do with him, so he had no reason to go and die.

but……

The scene from earlier flashed before his eyes again: the woman cornered by the scythe of hell, holding a child in her arms, and the citizens lying in pools of blood.

Of course, what Brian was most worried about was Gerdov, the man who took him in and gave him warmth when he was at his lowest point.

Brian gritted his teeth.

"...Fuck you."

He cursed, then turned around to face the direction from which the voice came.

“Gazef, you owe me a life,” he said, his tone still flippant, but the hand holding the knife no longer trembled. “After this is over, I’m going to drink you out of house and home.”

Gerdoff looked at him, a slight smile playing on his lips.

"it is good."

The two figures started walking at the same time, heading towards the center of the capital.

Chapter 65: Why are they all people with connections?

The members of the Blue Rose made their decisions almost simultaneously.

Everyone was rushing towards the Demon King.

Tina and Tia leaped between rooftops, the ninja sisters' movements almost perfectly synchronized, even the dust they kicked up when they landed was identical.

Gegran strode across the street, while Iveria soared through the air, her robes fluttering in the night wind.

They all know.

That being who calls himself "Demon King Rashael" is definitely not someone they can deal with.

The second wave of demons that emerged was already incredibly powerful.

The power of a demon king who can command such a large number of hellish scythes is unimaginable.

But they also knew that Si would definitely go.

So even for the sake of their team leader, they were still willing to take the risk.

Even if they can't win, they should still escape with the team leader.

Silk was the first to arrive.

She walked through a burning ruin, the night wind blowing behind her, making her long golden hair flutter forward, and the firelight reflected on her face, gilding her delicate features with a dark red halo.

The Angry Demon stood in the center of the open space.

His size was even larger than Si had expected.

Its black and red scales gleamed with a metallic sheen in the firelight, its two giant horns on its forehead stretched toward the sky, and its membranous wings were folded behind it, but its wingspan was still astonishingly wide.

The fanged face lowered, its fiery eyes landing on Silk.

Si gripped the sword tightly in her hand.

She did not back down.

"So you are the Demon King Rashael?" Silk's voice echoed across the empty arena. Even when facing an overwhelmingly powerful opponent, Silk remained unmoved.

The wrathful demon looked down at the blonde human woman.

Long golden hair, light green eyes, delicate features, and an attitude that showed no fear even in the face of someone like him.

Not really.

How could it be her?

The words of Lord Demiurge flashed through the mind of the Angry Demon General.

“Rune Eindora is a key target of Nazarick’s observation. His sister, Siendora, and his family must not be harmed.”

Trouble.

The Angry Demon sighed silently in his heart.

He had planned to show off his skills and warm up his muscles, but the first person to arrive was someone he couldn't kill.

The clever and angry demon general came up with a good idea: he planned to stall for time through dialogue.

"A human female." The voice of the wrathful demon general rose like magma from the depths of the earth. "You've come here to tell me about Heniupenzi's whereabouts?"

Si was stunned for a moment.

She hadn't expected the demon king to ask her a question first, instead of attacking her directly.

But Si quickly regained her senses, her sword tip still pointing at her opponent, without relaxing her grip at all.

“I don’t know which vampire you’re talking about.” Silk’s expression was firm. “If you’ve come here to find her, then I can tell you that the capital city has no one you’re looking for. Take your demons and leave this city. Don’t harm innocent citizens anymore.”

The Angry Demon looked at her, seemingly deep in thought, but in reality, he was stalling for time, waiting for others to appear.

“No.” The Angry Demon General shook his head. “I will not leave until I find Heniupenzi.”

Si frowned.

Just then, several figures arrived from different directions.

Iverai was the first to land, his eyes beneath the mask warily watching the enormous demon general.
