Chapter 231 What is a Gun?

After an unknown amount of time, Wade's heart suddenly skipped a beat and he woke up suddenly. It was pitch black around him, with only a faint light coming through the gap in the curtains.

He felt as if his whole body had been stepped on by an elephant, and there was hardly a place that didn't hurt.

Wade checked the time and it was sunset. He finished the Animagus spell as usual, and the sound seemed to alarm the people around him. Then he heard someone say:

"Fluorescence."

A soft white light came on, illuminating this corner of the ward, and Wade saw two familiar figures sitting beside the bed.

"Theo, Ryan?"

Wade sat up on the bed and asked, "Why are you here?"

"I heard that you were injured and unconscious. We will keep watch over you at night to prevent those Slytherin guys from taking the opportunity to harm you."

Ryan said, raising his chin to the side and said, "Those lying over there are Slytherins."

Wade looked over and saw a thick curtain blocking his view.

Theo suppressed his laughter and whispered, "And at least half of them were sent in by you."

"So it's only natural that they want revenge, right?"

Ryan said as he lit the candle next to him.

"Michael and the others wanted to stay here overnight, but they were also injured and there wasn't enough space, so we persuaded them to go back and rest."

Wade sighed helplessly, "It's fine if I can't beat him, but I can't even block the rebounding spell. Can you blame me for that?"

"You can't use our level to consider others!" Theo said, "I heard that those fifth-year students haven't learned to use the Shield Charm yet!"

"Would you like to eat?" Ryan asked. "We left dinner for you. There are roast meat, sausages, sandwiches, mashed potatoes and carrots, and hot chocolate."

Wade shook his head. He felt nauseous when he thought about food. He held his stomach and said uncomfortably, "I just want to drink some water now."

Theo immediately stood up and poured a glass of water. Wade took it and found that it was still the temperature he was most used to, slightly hot.

He took a few sips slowly and finally felt better.

Hot water is to Vader what chocolate is to Harry, it has a miraculous effect of curing all diseases.

Then Vader noticed that his two friends were watching him silently.

After Wade put down the cup of water, Ryan said, "Wade, how could you fight with the professor to the point where you fainted?"

"Yeah, weigh the pros and cons and do what you can. Don't you always emphasize this to us? Why didn't you leave with Michael and the others during the day?" Theo also asked.

"Hmm..." Wade tilted his head and thought for a moment, then said, "A little high?"

"Oh, that's how it is……"

Theo and Ryan curled their lips and drooped their eyelids, silently expressing - 'This is a really bad excuse. I'll just pretend that I believe it.'

Wade couldn't help but laugh, then his expression became slightly serious: "Actually, it's because... I think Professor Abigail is different from traditional wizards. She seems to have received some professional, military training."

Theo understood. "You mean, she might be... um... an Auror from another country?"

Vader shook his head.

"No, the training I'm talking about is the Muggle kind - nothing to do with magic, but training in physical fitness, combat, reconnaissance, various weapons... and shooting."

Ryan understood: "You mean, she might have served in the Muggle army? Then I understand why she teaches like that - she treats students as her soldiers?"

"Is this the style of all Muggle armies? It sounds cruel." Theo asked curiously.

Ryan thought back to the scene he had accidentally seen on TV, nodded affirmatively and said, "Yes, that's it."

"Then Professor Abigail's hobby is really special." Theo said incredulously: "As a wizard, she actually went to the Muggle army to suffer."

Ryan looked at Wade and said, "You got beaten up just to confirm this?"

Wade was silent for a while, then said, "She seemed to be carrying a gun... I'm not sure, and I didn't find a chance to get close to her."

He used all the plant magic that Professor Sprout had taught him, but he still couldn't knock the pistol-like object off Professor Abigail.

Theo was quiet for a moment, a little confused, and asked, "What...is a gun?"

Wade was speechless for a moment.

It was Ryan who explained first.

"A metal wand," he said firmly, "a weapon that Muggles use to kill each other."

"...is it dangerous?" Theo asked.

"If you get hit in the vitals, you'll die."

Ryan tried to recall what his Muggle relatives had told him: "But if you hit your hands, feet, or stomach, it should be equivalent to making a hole in the body?"

"It doesn't sound any worse than the last time Harry broke his arm," Theo concluded.

"It's very dangerous." Wade said seriously: "The gun is very dangerous, and the speed is very fast. After the gun is fired, there is almost no chance to dodge."

Both Hufflepuffs looked serious.

"Can the Shield Charm block it?" Theo asked.

"I don't know," Vader said. "And different types of guns have different powers."

Ryan took a deep breath: "It can't be... another person like Quirrell? Sent by a mysterious person or some other force to cause trouble in the school..."

"But there is no Philosopher's Stone in Hogwarts now!" said Theo.

"The Philosopher's Stone is not the only thing that people covet at Hogwarts," Wade said. "But Dumbledore must have known about this since he hired her. I thought, maybe I can find time to talk to him..."

I just don’t know if the principal will still be in school when I wake up tomorrow morning.

Abigail is a character who was not mentioned at all in the original plot. Wade doesn't know anything about her, so he can't let go.

Perhaps Dumbledore knew her background, but when it came to the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Wade felt that he could not trust the headmaster's vision at all.

——Dumbledore always seems to be able to pick out the most problematic person from a crowd of people.

Even Remus Lupin, although Vader trusted him and liked this older friend very much, believed that werewolves were a time bomb for ordinary young wizards.

What is Abigail's origin? What is her purpose in entering Hogwarts? Wade is very concerned about this.

Of course, her "battle mage" style and straightforward "violent aesthetics" are also very attractive to Vader.

Skill and strength are written on that body, on the tight muscles. Like an elegant cheetah, it intuitively displays its power.

Vader pinched the muscles in his arms and sighed slightly.

Chapter 232 Safety comes first!

The bed in the school infirmary is not big, but for a wizard of Wade's level, the size of the space is not a problem at all.

His wand was placed next to the pillow, and Wade easily made the bed bigger, so that five or six people could lie down without any problem. When the three of them woke up from their sleep, it was already daybreak.

Madam Pomfrey came over with the potion and stared at Vader with a stern face as he drank the potion. She checked him again and signaled that he could leave.

The three of them didn't dare to breathe. After Madam Pomfrey left, Ryan whispered, "Madam Pomfrey seems angry."

"Of course! She hates students who don't take care of their bodies." Theo was also surprised and said, "I'm surprised she didn't scold you."

"Maybe it's because I'm a patient?" Wade said casually.

In fact, he knew that because Professor Snape often asked him to send the potions he brewed during practice, Madam Pomfrey was somewhat lenient with him.

At least he wasn't scolded harshly in front of everyone. Compared to the treatment given to others, Wade actually felt a little touched.

The three of them tidied up the beds, took their belongings, and Vida pulled open the curtains. With a "swish", many pairs of eyes looked towards them.

Wade now completely understood why Theo and Ryan wanted to stay and keep him company.

There were about ten beds in the entire ward, most of which were Slytherins, and they were the classmates who had attended class with him yesterday. Wade also saw Goyle, who had been stepped on by him.

In the wizarding world, the damage caused by spells heals much slower than physical injuries, so Wade was able to leave the hospital this morning, but many students still have to stay here for two days.

They stared silently at the culprit...at least one of the culprits. No one spoke, but no one jumped out to attack them either.

Despite being accidentally injured, most Slytherins identified more with Wade.

He wasn't a pureblood... not even a half-blood... so what?

Even all the Slytherins in the same grade combined were no match for him.

The only reasonable response they could give was to not speak to him.

When the three of them walked out of the school infirmary cautiously, Michael was actually outside the door, secretly looking inside.

"Why is it like this?" Ryan asked curiously.

"I'm worried about being seen by Madam Pomfrey. She scolded us badly yesterday."

Michael looked inside carefully again and noticed the expressions of the Slytherins. He chuckled and said:

"Vader, believe it or not...even though they are as cold as ice now, almost all Slytherins want to be your friend as long as you are willing to reach out."

"Forget it," Wade said. "Did you see Dumbledore this morning?"

"No." Michael said, "But I guess he should still be in school - I saw an owl carrying a package and flew out of the principal's office window this morning."

Theo asked, "Wade, do you have Dumbledore's Book of Friends?"

"Yes, but I want to talk to him in person," said Wade.

Even when they were talking face to face, he found it difficult to read Dumbledore's thoughts, but at least he could tell from his expression and body movements. But through the parchment, he couldn't tell anything.

Dumbledore did not appear at the breakfast table, but Wade sent a message to inquire, and Dumbledore quickly replied:

[I think we can meet at 2pm. I remember you don’t have classes at that time. Oh, and the password is strawberry ice cream.]

So this morning's spells class was a bit long for Wade.

Professor Flitwick probably heard about what happened in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, and he spent half the class telling students stories about his dueling experiences when he was young, as well as some tips on dueling.

"Move fast, kids! Don't just stand there like trolls, waiting for the enemy to hit you!"

Professor Flitwick waved his wand vigorously and said loudly. He also demonstrated it in public, asking several students to attack him together, and he easily dodged all the spells without taking any action except defense.
