Chapter 327 Time Looking Back
Michael pondered, and then gradually understood.
"He's so big, even a fire dragon would find him cute... but he wouldn't think that others would think so, would he? Right? He wouldn't?"
Wade thought for a moment and said tactfully, "How about...you guess?"
Michael thought of the biting "Monster Book of Monsters" in his schoolbag, and suddenly the pumpkin pie in his hand didn't taste good anymore.
Vader looked at the excited and expectant students with sympathy.
Almost all the students who took part in the maze challenge had witnessed with their own eyes the scene where Hagrid slapped the enlarged insects away with one slap, and then lifted up the students who were in desperate situation by pinching their collars with two fingers.
In the eyes of the rescued students, that slightly brutal scene was like a shining hero descending from the sky.
So at this moment, many students were sincerely looking forward to Hagrid's class. They never thought that Hagrid could not only easily slap spiders away, but also let everyone take blasting-tailed skrewts for a walk for the whole semester.
Wade has learned a lot about magical creatures from Steven. If it weren't for the Time Turner, he would not have chosen the Care of Magical Creatures class taught by Hagrid.
There was also Divination and Muggle Studies, which were not actually on Vader's wish list.
but now……
Wade thought that he could only try to see if Hagrid could teach him something useful... maybe skipping class was a good option.
……
After dinner, the students who had been on the train all day were very tired. They returned to the lounge and without time to chat or laugh, they just said goodbye and went back to the dormitory to sleep.
The dormitory had already been cleaned by the house-elves. Even though Ravenclaw Tower was very high up and it was raining coldly tonight, the room was still warm.
Wade's suitcase had been delivered long ago, and his clothes and schoolbag had been simply packed. There was a kettle of hot water on the table, and slippers were placed on the carpet at the entrance.
Wade suppressed his excitement, quickly washed up, and then sat down at the table to take out the time converter to study it.
Golden magic patterns spread out in the field of vision. An hourglass smaller than a thumb extended out a composition more complex than a DNA molecule map. Everywhere within the field of vision was glowing golden magic patterns, which complemented the other magic items in the room like layers of superimposed holographic images.
Wade held his breath for a moment, immersed in this magnificence and mystery.
How could such a great magic be accomplished with just one spell?
Vader looked at the mysterious hourglass in the middle of the time converter, made up his mind, put the golden chain around his neck, and then held the dial and turned it in a circle.
In an instant, all kinds of blurry colors and shapes passed around Wade, as if he had entered a legendary time tunnel, and he could even hear the ticking of clocks in his ears.
The sound was deafening, and Vader could hear nothing else.
But Wade didn't care about that at all. He tried his best to stare at his surroundings. In the changing light and shadow, he only felt that he seemed to vaguely see some different trajectories.
After a moment, Vader's body shook and the scene around him changed.
The house-elf Zoe was hanging up clothes. When she heard the noise, she turned around quickly and stared at Vader in astonishment.
"Ved Grey suddenly showed up! Why is he in the dormitory? He should be eating in the auditorium at this time..."
Before Zoe could finish her muttering, she saw the time-turner in Vader's hand.
"It turns out to be the future Mr. Weed Grey."
Zoe bowed and said, "Ved Grey has chosen all the courses. This is a choice that only the best students at Hogwarts would make... Few people can devote so much energy to study. Vied Grey is really amazing..."
"Thank you, Zoe."
As Vader spoke, he held the dial and went back in time once again.
This time, he will definitely be able to capture the difference!
When he stood up again, the room became empty and the air seemed damp and cold.
Wade snorted and covered his eyes, feeling a burning pain in his eyes, as if he had rubbed them with his hands that had just cut onions, and tears welled up in his eyes involuntarily.
"Recover quickly...heal as before..."
Wade pointed his wand at his eyes and chanted the spell several times before he felt better.
He stood in front of the mirror and saw that his eyes were red, as if they were bloodshot.
It seems that we can't continue exploring the magical traces of going back in time for the time being.
Wade knew that he still had a long time to study, but in order to avoid meeting himself who would appear here later, he immediately took the necessary clothes, cast an Illusion Spell, left the dormitory and went to the Room of Requirement.
The Room of Requirement contained most of the detection props that Vader needed, including magical props and Muggle instruments, but the Muggle products were all mechanical - such as optical microscopes - and there were no electron microscopes or plasma mass spectrometers.
Vader used several magical tests in succession, but the time converter was as quiet as a chicken, with no changes at all.
There is a very powerful counter-spell on this instrument.
Then Wade tried the Muggle method again. He first placed the Time-Turner under the microscope, then used a Glowing Charm to provide the appropriate light, slowly turning the knob and adjusting it carefully.
A clearer image appeared in the mirror. Wade tapped it with his wand and projected the small image onto the wall.
The gold chain... and the surrounding circular brackets are nothing special. They look like ordinary materials, and the magic patterns are monotonous and regular.
But this hourglass... and the white sand in the hourglass that looks like crushed sugar.
Wade looked at it for a while, and his heart suddenly moved slightly.
He took out a small bottle of gold powder from his bag that he had collected from Professor Murray and others as well as from the exhibition site not long ago, and also put it under the microscope for observation.
There was some very fine white powder mixed in with the gold powder, which was different in shape and size from the sand in the hourglass, but Wade remembered that in another perspective, the magic patterns they unfolded were very similar.
He suddenly remembered the feeling that when he was covered with gold powder, his blood flow seemed to slow down and his consciousness became blurred.
It was as if time had slowed down and the reaction speed had also become extremely slow, as if there was an invisible barrier between me and the real world.
He put the gold powder and the hourglass together, and reluctantly opened another vision again, looking at their similar yet different magic patterns.
But...how is that possible?
Those were werewolves, few of whom even knew magic...
Wade wrapped the golden chain around his wrist and looked at the white sand in the hourglass with deep eyes.
Chapter 328 New Schedule and Arithmetic Divination
When Wade went to the auditorium for breakfast in the morning, he received his class schedule for the new semester.
The schedule is packed, which is completely different from the relaxed schedule of the previous two years. Some courses even overlap in time.
Just counting this morning, he had Divination and Arithmancy starting at nine, followed by Transfiguration and Charms.
After an overly busy morning, there were Care of Magical Creatures, Muggle Studies, Defense Against the Dark Arts in the afternoon, and astronomy in the evening.
In fact, for previous students, the time for Divination, Arithmancy and Muggle Studies was all at 9 a.m. Because the overlap rate of students choosing these courses was very low, the school only needed to make slight adjustments to meet the class needs of most people.
But this year, because of the questionnaire compiled by Wade and others, and the influence of Professor Abigail, more students chose Divination and Muggle Studies than before.
Although arithmetic divination is also called "divination", it has become unpopular.
After all, there are very few students who love mathematics and truly believe that they are good at mathematics. What's more, most young wizards have not received a complete mathematics education, and the arithmetic and divination textbooks are like heavenly books to them.
Ancient magic runes are slightly better, this is because Vader, with the title of "genius alchemist", has caused several sensations in the magic world, making many young wizards very yearning for him.
Many students with excellent academic performance usually choose Ancient Magic Rune; to ensure safety, they also take two elective courses that are easier to pass the OWLsl exams.
As a result, divination and Muggle studies, which had previously been deserted, suddenly became overcrowded. It was impossible for Hogwarts to apply for a time converter for everyone, so it could only readjust the class schedule that had been followed for hundreds of years.
"Oh my God, Wade!" Michael looked over and saw Wade's class schedule, and exclaimed, "So many classes! Is this hell?"
He looked at the class schedule he had just been complaining about, and immediately found it much more pleasing to the eye.
Wade looked at his schedule again and said, "It's okay... I don't have so many classes every day."
The shortest day has only four classes.
Even though there are only eight classes a day, it is actually not bad for Wade, who used to have ten classes + morning reading + evening self-study every day.
In the past, he had to attend cram schools and interest classes even on weekends, but Hogwarts courses do not occupy Saturdays and Sundays.
Considering that professors don’t always give homework in every class, and that most of the rigorous subjects only have papers due once a week…
After thinking about it, the pressure that Wade had just felt disappeared immediately. He put away the schedule and asked Michael, "Have you finished eating? We'd better leave early. The North Tower is a bit far."
"immediately!"
As Michael spoke, he stuffed the remaining boiled potatoes on the plate into his mouth in a few bites, took a big sip of carrot juice, and jumped up from his seat.
Michael and Wade both took Arithmancy, so they walked together towards the classroom, which was on the seventh floor of the castle.
As they passed through the entrance hall, they saw Harry, Ron, and Hermione rushing in. Michael watched them disappear at the entrance to the hall, then turned and asked Wade:
"If I remember correctly, Hermione is also going to take Arithmancy class, right?"
"Of course," Vader said.
"She's eating now, so she'll definitely be late later," Michael said sympathetically.
The arithmetic divination classroom is close to the library. From here you have to go upstairs, walk around a long corridor, and then climb several flights of stairs to get there.
Even if you don't get lost in the castle's rambling staircases, it will still take quite a while to get there.
But Wade smiled and said, "Don't worry, she won't be late."
"Hmm? No?"
"Correct."
"How did you do that?" Michael asked in surprise.
"Sorry." Wade shrugged and said, "It's a secret. I can't tell you."
Michael touched his chin and narrowed his eyes slightly.
"This secret is the reason why you can choose twelve courses, right?" he asked inquiringly.
Vader smiled and said nothing, but his eyes acknowledged it without a doubt.
Michael didn't ask any more questions. He lowered his head and remained silent for a long time. When he was almost at the classroom, he let out a long sigh.
"I regret it," he said.
"What?" Vader asked.
