I'll be grinding for the beginning of the volume. Tomorrow I'll update two chapters of the healthy sisters, write about the past Xingping City, and find the feel of it by the way;

...

...

In terms of word count, the first volume has 17 words and the second volume has 40 words;

I never thought that the guy who had a hard time writing an 800-word essay could actually code so much stuff... It's quite fulfilling.

Maybe it's because practice makes perfect, the author feels that his writing skills have improved. When he was writing, the characters seemed to be alive in front of him, without the previous feeling of struggling to hold back.

Let’s start from the beginning of the volume.

The beginning of the second volume is the part where the character Xiao Jiang is introduced. To be honest, it is written in a messy way;

First, the character creation is too exaggerated, second, there is a riddle man and sword fairy mixed in, and third, the Jiang family case is complicated to begin with, and it also involves the exploration of spiritual realms and the creation of a worldview...

I didn't feel anything when I was writing it, but now every time I read it I feel it's such a mess. The only bright spot is that Xiao Jiang is quite cute.

Fortunately, the writing style was changed in the thirty plus chapters, because the affairs of the Blood Robe Cult involved the Star Palace and the Sword Sect... Naturally, the relationship with Xiao Jiang deepened, and the Shura Field that the author had always thought about was also written.

really not bad.

During this period, I also let the Sword Immortal and the Goddess appear and made themselves familiar to me; it was at this time that I realized a fatal problem.

These "future characters" are not only a mystery, but also have no interaction with the real world. Release them only interrupts the linear narrative rhythm, making the story "chaotic" and seemingly "difficult".

So in the part about the two sisters, I deliberately downplayed the existence of the sword fairy, so that the story only happened between the three siblings of the Fang family and real people, and I didn't let them appear again;

Sure enough, looking back now, that part of the plot is still very smooth, and because of the improved writing skills, it is much better than the first volume.

Later on, the story of going to Osmanthus Mountain is written;

Here I start to have a headache again.

Knowing that releasing the Sword Immortal would interrupt the narrative rhythm, I had to lay the groundwork for subsequent plots. I struggled for a long time before I wrote the character of Lao Luo.

At this point, the Sword Master was finally able to make some connection with reality;

During this part of the escort journey, it seems that the character is being portrayed as Lao Luo, but in fact, the sword fairy and Xiao Qingni are also being portrayed. These things are intertwined with each other, but because there are connections between the upper and lower parts, the plot is still very smooth.

In fact, I used a lot of small details of “changing positions” in the interaction between the male protagonist and the sword fairy;

For example, he always said that Xiao Qingni was stupid, but when he encountered problems, he would ask the sword fairy for help;

For example, he always teaches Xiao Qingni a lesson, but most of the time he is scolded by the Sword Immortal... and so on.

Apart from these, the story of the innkeeper is also quite interesting, so I think I wrote this paragraph quite well.

After separating from Lao Luo and writing about Jiang Xizhi and the demon clan, the plot became a bit... boring; this section was written to introduce the Wang family, but there was no foreshadowing beforehand, so it seemed a bit inexplicable.

Why don’t you go to Guihua Mountain? Why are you trying to solve cases here? Where is my Xiao Qingni?

Originally, I wanted to write a story about Jianghu, but that would slow down the pace too much, so I shortened it and told the story of Jiang Xizhi, a case with a slight twist.

Later, Wang Ningzhu appeared, arrived at Guihua Mountain, and met happily;

There is not much to say about this part. It is a family comedy, and I love watching these. But a story that is too peaceful is never good, so the spiritual resonance is added to pave the way for the subsequent plot of the sword fairy.

During this period, there were also many things about the Wang family and the demon clan, such as Wang Anyang who wanted to rebel, and the emperor who liked checks and balances, etc.

I also thought about the plot of the play for a while. The story itself is quite interesting, and I also wrote down the things revealed later in the story... At that time, I even looked up the lines of the play and revised them for a long time.

Then, we come to the important main content.

To be honest, I didn’t think about writing the afterimage of the Emperor the first time. I just wanted to put the memory aside and fill in the gaps.

I had already written 10,000 words in the draft, but then an idea suddenly occurred to me while I was having dinner. I thought that this way of writing would have more "tension", and then I just wrote it down according to my feeling.

Actually, when I was writing about the Emperor, I was a little undecided; unlike these characters who have status, background, and interpersonal relationships, he seemed to have no anchor.

When I wrote that chapter, I relied entirely on my feeling: Emperor = male protagonist + different experiences, and then two identical people were conversing and chatting there.

Surprisingly, I wrote very smoothly, and it wasn't until the hero threw those few punches that I found an anchor point to rely on instead of relying entirely on my feelings.

Then, I looked back and had a sudden epiphany.

When the Emperor asked, "Is my inheritance useful?", the hero had already realized that he was "caught here" by him, but he did not complain and continued to talk like a friend;

But when the Emperor deliberately used the Sword Immortal to provoke him, he began to get angry - why?

Because he doesn't care about himself that much, his sympathy for the Emperor is not that strong (that's also his own fault), but the Sword Immortal is the one who has always helped him and protected him, so he punched him in anger.

While beating him, he realized it was something that was "recorded" and stopped.

Then the Emperor laughed.

I didn’t feel it when I wrote it, and I only understood it after reading it again:

From the Emperor's perspective, he is a successful entrepreneur who "started his business with great difficulty". He clearly left a lot of inheritance to him and protected the male protagonist well, but he turned out to be like this, just like a rich second-generation who exploded his father's gold coins.

That’s why the Emperor said it was a “funny farce”, but he wasn’t angry;

Then he had to risk his soul to dissipate and renegotiate the contract with the Sword Immortal;

In fact, I thought about letting the sword master die like this, so that there would be one less "spoiler" and the story would be much easier to develop later; but in the end I couldn't bear to do it.

I also want to see the Shura field between Jianxian and Xiao Qingni, that would be so interesting.

I think the section about the Emperor preaching is also well written;

Actually, I didn’t write it from the perspective of possession or fate at the beginning, because there are too many people writing about this, such as the big boss is my past self...

Given the protagonist's personality, I don't think he would do such a thing even if he became an emperor;

But as I wrote, the theme shifted to the feeling of powerlessness and fate - if I could start over again, Xiao Qingni would have a happy family, her elder and second sisters would not kill each other, Xiao Jiang would not become a bloodthirsty and ruthless witch, and the world would not become so broken...

Even the Sword Immortal can untie his knot and be reborn - the only one who cannot be saved is the Emperor.

Even the slight resistance that the male protagonist could offer was suppressed: You pretended? I expected that.

You don't want to accept it? I already gave it.

You want to save me? I'm already dead.

It’s so painful to think about it, how could it be written like this. Damn it.

In short, this is how the second volume is sorted out. I would like to thank all the book friends who have read all the way here.

It is also easy to guess how the plot will develop in the future;

First go to Longchuan, then to Shendu... I have the specific contents of the outline, but I still need to figure out what to fill in.

However, the exploration of the spiritual realm will occupy a very important part: the original intention of writing this book is to take the girls to the dungeons to kill monsters, watch the girls fighting with each other, and also include some content such as decrypting the world view, exploring the past world lines, etc.

Hehehe, Shura Field is being attacked hard, don’t let him stop!

Chapter 187 Arrival in Xingping

It was February, the middle of spring; at the junction of Jiang and Long, in the city of Xingping.

Outside the city, Old Liu, who sells roasted sweet potatoes, set up a stall on the roadside early in the morning. White smoke was billowing from the cart, and you could buy one for a few cents.

However, times have changed. The aftermath of the battle between the masters has long since disappeared, seasons have changed, and the goose feather catkins that once floated in the air have turned into spring flowers.

"Hey, you came all the way here, why don't you eat something to fill your stomach? If it doesn't taste good, I won't pay for it!"

Seeing the customers coming, Lao Liu started calling out to them immediately.

He was a handsome young man leading a horse, dressed in a tight suit, with a sword on his back. He came closer and said with a gentle smile, "Okay, give me two bad ones."

"?"

"Just kidding, take a big one." The young man seemed very easy-going. He stood aside with his sleeves rolled up, watching Lao Liu busy himself.

This young man is naturally Fang Xiwen who has traveled all the way here.

Starting from Guihua Mountain, he rode a horse and took a boat, crossing mountains and rivers, and it took him ten days to reach this place.

Seeing that the stall owner looked friendly, Fang Xiwen casually started chatting with him: "Father, I heard that Xingping City has changed a lot recently, what's going on?"

Old Liu was bending down to stir the charcoal fire. Hearing this, he raised his smoky face and said with a smile, "Young man, you don't look like a native of Longchuan. Your accent doesn't mean you are from Longchuan."

"Yes, I lived here for a while."

The Third Young Master is from the orthodox Old God Capital Plain Yellow Banner. No one knows what the Emperor did, but his accent leans towards the north.

As for the last time I came, it was a mission with Fang Qingxiao to wipe out Tianmen; although there were some accidents, the result was still good:

Li Muyou was instigated to rebel; Li Wuchang and Chuan Dao Sanren were killed; the list was leaked, the Tianmen Mie industry was uprooted, and then Xinggong took over and reached a preliminary cooperation with the Liushenmen official...

"Hey, you can consider settling here now." Old Liu baked the sweet potatoes and handed them over in a cardboard bag. "It's not like when Tianmen was destroyed. Now it's prosperous and peaceful. It's worthy of the name."

"how do I say this?"

"The system has been restructured, and things have changed," Old Liu counted on his fingers, as if he knew all the treasures. "The person in charge of the city now is Lin, the fairy from the Star Palace;

I don’t know how many of the taverns, brothels, rice shops, cloth shops in the city are owned by others. Their business is fair and transactions are safe.

Not only that, the tax collection is low, and merchants from all over the country have settled here. After a few months, the money collected has increased. Don’t you think it’s strange?”

"That's true." He nodded with a hint of amusement, thinking that tax cuts and increases were nothing unusual, but it was rare for vendors on the roadside to be so talkative.

Fang Xiwen then peeled the sweet potato and ate it, a little confused: "But with so many people here, there must be a lot more thefts, right?"

"Hey, the higher-ups said before that there should be no more than three cases per month. In order to avoid being dismissed as the city lord, I can only use the theft case to close the case. That means catching one and asking him to confess to all the other cases.

Guess what Fairy Lin did in the end?"

Seeing Lao Liu's admiring expression, Fang Xiwen was startled: "She won't inspect it herself, will she? Use the consciousness outside..."

"What an insight! Since taking office, City Lord Lin has been patrolling every night in person. His divine sense sweeps the sky and earth, so that petty thieves will have no way to escape.

She has been responsible, capable, and beautiful since the day she took office. The people love her very much.”

Oh my god, Lin Huazhi works so hard...

Fang Xiwen was indeed surprised. He thought that being on location was really different. This guy had previously insisted on being his personal maid, but now he was the lord of a city.

"Old Liu, are you familiar with these monsters?"

"Because I am the old city lord who was replaced."
