The moment he heard these words, a warm feeling surged into Frey's heart.

It’s like a lonely and wandering soul finally found a place to live.

"Well, go home."

They supported each other and started their journey home.

A few days later, in Gwangju, the capital of the Theocracy, the Tower of the Sun was still radiating light, but the entire city was shrouded in a gloomy atmosphere.

In this operation to reinforce the seal of the evil dragon, half of the elite Knights of Holy Light and nearly one-third of the high-end combat power of the entire religious nation were sacrificed on the 70th floor of the maze.

The damage this caused to the Theocracy was even more devastating than last year's decisive battle against the Demon King.

This also dealt a huge blow to the prestige of Pope Oscar Wilde, and the political situation, which had been tending to stabilize, became turbulent again.

"The expeditionary force was almost completely wiped out, many of the Knights loyal to the Pope were sacrificed, and the Labyrinth City was severely weakened..."

In a secret room deep in the holy city, Father Mono was reporting the tragic circumstances of the operation point by point, but his tone seemed very cheerful.

"Although it was somewhat surprising that Saint Selina was able to successfully complete the seal, overall, this plan was a success."

After finishing the report, Mono looked at the old, hunched figure at the other end of the room.

He is Aesop, one of the three cardinals of the Hikari Theocracy, who is in charge of justice.

"You already knew what was going on in the maze?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Mono realized that he had spoken out of turn.

"Sorry, please pretend I never asked."

"That's good to know. What is Wilde doing now?"

"He was so depressed a few days ago that he locked himself in his room, but he should be able to attend the memorial service tomorrow."

"You're still being affected by your emotions at this time. What a childish guy."

"He shouldn't doubt you, right?" Aesop asked Mono.

"Please rest assured about this."

As the ruler of the maze city, Mono actively mobilized adventurers to participate in the expedition. It was also a reasonable move to block the maze after the incident. After receiving Leonard's distress signal, he immediately agreed to let the contemporary sword master participate in the rescue.

On the surface, Mono did not do anything irresponsible.

"By the way, how is that Leonard now?"

"As the only positive example, he received a lot of praise, but the pope didn't pay any special attention to him."

Hearing this, Aesop jokingly said:

"The young prince is still too young. He inherited his power from the old Pope, but instead of uniting with elders like Reynard, he is anxious to promote the younger generation who are loyal to him."

"So, when are you going to clean up this young upstart?"

"It's not the right time yet. You should go back today. If you stay here for too long, you might get noticed."

Finally, Aesop said to Mono:

"016, you did a great job this time. Unlike Jacob's failure, you are worthy of being my most proud work."

"You're too kind. This is what I should do." Mono bowed to Aesop.

In addition to the name Ulakiri Mono, he has another identity:

Former captain of the 86th Company, No. 016.

Before parting, Mono once again shouted their slogan:

"May the glory of mankind last forever..."

In the Land of Forests, there is an ancient legend.

It is said that a long time ago, there was a god in charge of sunlight and fertility. He created the elves and planted the sacred tree (Yggdrasil), giving the elves a long life.

Later, after converting to the God of Wind, in order to maintain the purity of faith, the existence of this ancient god was erased from the legends of the elves, and only members of the royal family were qualified to know about it.

The name of that god was Freyr.

Therefore, when Didoris went to the Labyrinth City to visit Vandam and learned from him about the existence of a young adventurer with the same name as the ancient god, she immediately became very interested.

So she planned the encounter that night, which started with picking up shoes, and then a series of subsequent stories...

Now, after temporarily parting with Frey and returning to the Forest Kingdom, Didoris made a decision.

She wanted to write down Frey's story.

But after picking up the pen, Didoris was in trouble.

Unlike the passionate protagonists in traditional stories, Frey is not someone who aspires to be a hero.

This is not a heroic story...

She felt that starting the book with such a sentence seemed to lack tension.

After thinking for a moment, inspiration suddenly came to Didoris's mind.

So she picked up her pen and wrote these two sentences on the title page:

This is not a heroic story

But he will eventually become a hero

Postscript to Volume 1

To all my dear readers...

So far, "This time, I won't be a demon king"

This book was released on January 1th, and today is exactly 14 years... not 100 days.

The last chapter is just not numbered, it is actually Chapter 101, and today is also the 101st day.

I originally wanted to make it an even number and then say "計畫通り." with a big laugh, but plans often cannot keep up with changes.

First of all, I want to apologize to everyone. I had planned to update the page last weekend, but I got injured while running a thousand meters during the physical test on Saturday. I felt uncomfortable for several days, so I postponed the update.

In the future, we should do what we can while ensuring four days a week, so as not to disappoint everyone by issuing blank checks.

In short, despite some bumps and bruises, I finally finished writing the first volume. The current word count of this book is 44, officially surpassing the 39 words when the previous book was discontinued, which can be regarded as a victory over my past self.

Let’s first summarize the problems in the first volume.

When I write, I am more obsessed with the rationality of the story and try my best to clearly write the causes and consequences of each action of the protagonist and various settings.

This also results in some passages looking like instruction manuals, and some descriptions may be redundant.

And before every decisive battle, I would use a large chapter to explain the enemy's experience, psychology and purpose.

From my point of view, I want to give each character a complete life and make their actions seem more reasonable, but if this writing method is not handled well, it may indeed destroy the reader's sense of immersion.

Take this volume as an example. Looking back now, the plot of the battle against Ah Fei does seem a bit dragged out. It would be better if it were streamlined.

Fortunately, I successfully wrote everything I wanted to write in the climax at the end of this volume. Although it is not perfect, it can barely be considered passing. I wonder what you think.

I have also analyzed it myself, and this situation mainly occurs due to lack of experience and writing skills. I am unable to use concise and refined language to convey information and shape characters, and the design of some small plots is not mature enough.

After all, Laoying has only 80 words of writing experience so far, so it is inevitable that there will be many immature parts. I will try to improve these problems in the subsequent writing process.

I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to all the friends who are willing to read this. Your tolerance, support, encouragement, and interesting comments are my greatest motivation to continue updating.

Then comes the subsequent plot.

This book will not suddenly change the map. For the next period of time, the protagonist Frey's activities will still be mainly around the maze city.

The first volume consists of three events: the One-legged Thief and the Millionaire, the Wind Feather Festival, and the Labyrinth Mutation.

The total length of the second volume is similar to that of the first volume and is also composed of three events.

The first event was a business trip to the northern Kingdom of Kahn, which believed in the God of Fire.

The word count of this part will be controlled within 15 words. In addition to further revealing the truth about the dragon clan, Frey will also obtain special jobs and exclusive weapons, and his combat power will usher in a wave of major enhancements.

At the same time, the last heroine of this book will officially appear. If you have read the previous book, you should already know who she is.

I think the climax of this incident is very exciting, but some of the early developments may need to be polished.

Please allow me to take a day off today to organize my outline and ideas.

Finally, I would like to send my most sincere blessings to all the friends who have read this.

I also hope that in the days to come, I can live up to everyone’s expectations and create more exciting stories.

Good night everyone, see you tomorrow.

Chapter 105 The Lonely King of Crashes

The magic stone vein in the northwest corner of the Kingdom of Kahn is the territory of Grand Duke Mingyan, one of the three great dukes of the kingdom.

In the management office above the mine, Sherlock, the director of the Hayek Consortium, was negotiating with Grand Duke Ifrit of the Underworld.

"If we were to choose the most feudal, corrupt, and xenophobic country on this continent, the Kingdom of Kahn would undoubtedly be the winner."

Hearing Sherlock's teasing words, the confidant beside Grand Duke Mingyan spoke:

"It's extremely rude for the head of the Free City to say such a thing."

"The kingdom has indeed declined, but it's not the turn of a businessman to make decisions!"

Unlike his emotional confidant, Grand Duke Ifrit of Dark Flame said calmly:

"There is no best system in the world, only the most suitable one. In a harsh environment, we need power to ensure survival."

"Without the protection of powerful forces, we will become like them."

Ifrit glanced down and saw at the bottom of the mine, densely packed figures were working desperately like ants.
