After a while, he interrupted her, pointed to the ward, and said, "Do you know what's going on?"
Du Xiaozhai paused, turned to Zeng Yueyi and said, "I'm sorry, Yueyue, I can't afford to offend the person who attacked Uncle Zeng, so I can only ask you to go to the company."
Zeng Yueyi pursed his lips and said, "It's okay. If you can't afford to offend me, then so be it... But shouldn't you explain the specific situation to me?"
Du Xiaozhai thought for a moment and said, "Let's put it this way. There are strange people in this world, and there are good and bad strange people. Strange people are also human beings. They also need to live and need money...
A company supported by a bad alien had a business conflict with Uncle Zeng's, so they took action against Uncle Zeng... There is a department specifically responsible for managing aliens..."
Zeng Yueyi seemed to be thinking about something, and said, "So you two are extraordinary people, and Fu Yuan is from the relevant department?"
Fu Yuan casually said, "Not really. They just introduced me to a commission. I get paid after completing it, but half of that money is taken away from me. I also have to bear all the trouble caused by it myself."
There is another point that both parties know well: the company is also testing Fu Yuan's abilities through entrustment.
Zeng Yueyi found it hard to accept and said, "Just because of a business conflict, they attacked my dad and made him like this? Just because they're an alien? This is too unfair!"
Fu Yuan looked at her in surprise and said, "It would be unfair to treat strangers the same as ordinary people!"
Zeng Yueyi was speechless. It was a simple truth. Could a farmer and a billionaire really be treated equally?
Fu Yuan said to Du Xiaozhai, "Do you know who did this?"
Du Xiaozhai nodded and said, "Judging from Uncle Zeng's condition, it should be Quan Xing Dou Mei, nicknamed "Intestinal Poison". Together with Thunder Smoke Cannon Gao Ning, Troublemaker Shen Chong, and the recently popular Bone Scraper Xia He, they are known as the Four Madmen of Quan Xing."
Fu Yuan looked at Du Xiaozhai strangely.
Du Xiaozhai understood what he meant and said angrily, "You say that Quan Xing is someone anyone can kill, but how many people actually dare to provoke Quan Xing?
Individuals certainly wouldn't dare to provoke them, and even small sects wouldn't be able to afford to provoke them. Only the big sects and the four major families have the confidence to say this... but they're just talking. Who would dare to go to war with Quan Xing?"
Fu Yuan thought about it and suddenly realized that there were not many people who could afford to provoke Quan Xing. Even Lu Ci, who was called a "mad dog", did not dare to go to war with Quan Xing after Lu Liang joined Quan Xing.
Of course, there is one exception.
In the whole nature, everyone belongs to the whole nature, even if everyone has their own thoughts, but once someone targets the whole nature, they are targeting everyone in the whole nature.
On the contrary, the righteous sects are divided into countless factions, large and small, and their hearts are not united at all... Even if Quan Xing attacks Longhu Mountain, people from other sects and families will only watch and will not intervene.
This also involves the issue of the sect's reputation. Even if the company wants to intervene in the sect's affairs, it may need to obtain the sect's consent.
Fu Yuan asked curiously, "Which sect are you from?"
Du Xiaozhai said honestly, "I studied under an outer disciple of the Quanzhen Lotus Mountain and learned a little bit of inner alchemy skills... a disciple of an outer disciple, how could I possibly provoke Quan Xing? And he's one of the Four Arrogant Ones!"
Fu Yuan wondered, "Quanzhen Sect is also a big sect, right?"
"You really don't know anything about the alien world!"
Du Xiaozhai complained, “Today, Taoism is divided into two sects: Zhengyi and Quanzhen. The Zhengyi sect is headed by the Tianshi Mansion in Longhu Mountain, and is further divided into Maoshan, Lingbao, Qingwei, Jingming... and so on.
The Quanzhen School is divided into two branches, the Northern branch was founded by Chongyang Zhenren and passed down to the Seven Quanzhen disciples, while the Southern branch was passed down to the Five Patriarchs...
The Seven True Ones of the North and the Five Ancestors of the South had passed down the Quanzhen School from generation to generation, and Quanzhen had long since fallen apart. Perhaps a dilapidated Taoist temple on any hill could be the legacy of the Quanzhen School...
In Lotus Mountain, we worship the lineage of Zixu Zhenren, one of the Five Southern Patriarchs, but there are at least thirty or forty other Taoist temples that also claim to be of the Zixu lineage!
"The Zhengyi Sect at least has Longhu Mountain to anchor them, but what does the Quanzhen Sect have? It's just a pile of loose sand!"
Seeing that Du Xiaozhai was becoming increasingly dejected, Fu Yuan could not help but console him, "Tigers and leopards hide in the mountains, unicorns are buried in the fields, and with Quanzhen monks blooming everywhere, who knows where there might be a master hiding!"
Du Xiaozhai was still feeling indignant. He knew clearly who the murderer was, but he was too worried to intervene. It was inevitable that he felt aggrieved.
Zeng Yueyi also held her hand, silently comforting her, and said to Fu Yuan, "So, these strange people are all studying metaphysics?"
Fu Yuan played with the chess pieces and said, "I don't know much about the world of extraordinary people, but I heard that extraordinary people are divided into innate extraordinary people and acquired extraordinary people. Acquired extraordinary people all need to cultivate Qi, so they should all belong to metaphysics... I don't know about innate extraordinary people."
Du Xiaozhai also calmed down and asked curiously: "Metaphysics? What does this mean?"
Zeng Yueyi wondered, "You don't know?"
Du Xiaozhai shook his head, and both of them looked at Fu Yuan.
Fu Yuan thought for a moment, grabbed a handful of chess pieces and scattered them on the chessboard, saying, "This world is divided into known things and unknown things. This is the known things."
He pointed to the chess cup and said, "There are unknown things inside it."
Picking up a chess piece, Fu Yuan said, “From a scientific perspective, we generally study the composition, ingredients, magnitude, and mechanism of action of individual things.
As for composition, with the advancement of science, the things we see are getting smaller and smaller, molecules, atoms, neutrons, electrons, protons, quarks... There seems to be the speculative string theory... It's hard to say what will happen after that, there is only smaller, there is no smallest.
As for ingredients, there are about a hundred kinds that science can detect, such as proteins, vitamins, platelets, red blood cells... and so on. With the advancement of science, new ingredients will be discovered. There is no end because there are still countless unknown things.
To another order of magnitude, take length as an example, millimeters, centimeters, decimeters, meters, and above there are light years, and below there are micrometers, nanometers... As science advances, it becomes smaller and smaller, with no end in sight.
The same is true for mechanisms of action. The more we discover, the smaller the order of magnitude, and we will inevitably discover new mechanisms of action. There is also no end in sight."
Fu Yuan put down the chess piece in his hand, fiddled with a pile of flags, and said, "All known things have the same research method. In short, the more science develops, the greater it becomes... But for unknown things, because we don't know, we lack understanding.
Even for known things, there are still many uncertainties. Therefore, science has certain limitations in its understanding of the world, and it cannot explain everything. Science is not omnipotent and cannot explain everything. No scientist dares to claim to be able to explain everything in the world!
Zeng Yueyi and Du Xiaozhai listened carefully and nodded in agreement.
After Fu Yuan finished speaking, Du Xiaozhai couldn't wait to ask, "What about metaphysics?"
Fu Yuan divided the chess pieces into four parts and said, "Metaphysics is good at discovering the appearance and essence of things, summarizing their laws, and finding commonalities.
For example, this pile represents the characteristics of "growing upward and expanding outward". This characteristic is named "wood energy" and is represented by the Zhen trigram in the Eight Trigrams.
For example, in spring the weather becomes warmer, the ice and snow melt, the grass sprouts, animals begin to reproduce... and so on, all fall into this category.
Although things are different, they share common characteristics.
For example, this pile represents "gradually becoming prosperous and growing to the limit". This characteristic is named "fire energy", which is the Li hexagram in the Eight Diagrams.
For example, in summer, plants are particularly lush, animals are active, and the weather is extremely hot, but everything has its limits.
The next bunch represents the trend of "descending and converging". This characteristic is named "metal energy", which is Dui Gua in the Eight Diagrams.
For example, in autumn, the leaves fall, animal activities decrease, and the weather gradually becomes cooler.
The last pile represents "immobility, tranquility, and storage." This characteristic is called "water vapor," and it is the Kan hexagram in the Eight Diagrams.
For example, in winter, the leaves fall off, animals hibernate, and the weather gets colder. Of course, this also has its limits.”
Fu Yuan pointed to the four piles of chess pieces and said, "Wood, fire, metal, and water. These four characteristics are the 'Four Symbols' in metaphysics."
Du Xiaozhai seemed to be lost in thought.
Zeng Yueyi looked bewildered: "What about 'earth'?"
Fu Yuan smiled and said, "Continue to look for commonalities among these 'Four Symbols'. The commonality of wood and fire is upward and spreading, which is called 'Yang', while the characteristics of metal and water are downward and collecting, which is called 'Yin'.
Yin and Yang are the "two principles".
"Liang Yi" continue to look for the same characteristics. They all come from nothingness. Everything starts from "nothing", from "zero".
There must be a process from "nothing" to "something", so let's give this process a name, called "Qi"!
How did "Qi" come about? There must be a force that created Qi. Metaphysics calls this force "Tao"!
"Tao" produces "Qi", which is called "Yi Qi", also called "the initial Qi". For humans, it is called "the innate Yi Qi".
From "One Qi" to "Two Yi", there is a process in between, which is called "Zhong Qi". Because this process represents "gestation", it is also called "earth Qi".
Tao gave birth to Qi, Qi gave birth to the two yin and yang, gave birth to the four symbols, and gave birth to all things!
This principle can not only be used to explain known things, but also to analyze unknown things."
Fu Yuan put away the chess pieces and dropped them into the chess bowl, concluding, "In short, science is about seeking downwards and seeking refinement. The more science advances, the more vast it becomes, with no end in sight. The more science advances, the less likely it is that one person can master all of science!
But metaphysics seeks upward, seeks towards the general, the higher it goes, the simpler it becomes, and finally it becomes simple as "Tao", so metaphysics can be mastered by one person.
Of course, I am not denying science. Science can strengthen the country and benefit the people. I personally advocate science.
I am simply denying the "packaged" science. The so-called "science is supreme" and "science is omnipotent" is itself a disrespect for science!
Zeng Yueyi swallowed hard and couldn't help asking, "So my attempt to explain everything with science is unscientific in itself?"
Fu Yuan smiled and said, "When Shennong tasted hundreds of herbs, was he tasting the ingredients in the herbs? With so many herbs in Traditional Chinese Medicine, how do you determine their efficacy? If you introduce the concept of 'qi', wouldn't it be easier to explain?"
Du Xiaozhai murmured, "Human life is the gathering of Qi. When Qi gathers, it is life; when Qi disperses, it is death... I have never thought deeply about this."
Fu Yuan was surprised and asked, "You study inner alchemy, but not metaphysics? You know the facts, but not the reasons? Are you 'learning skills' or 'seeking the truth'?"
Du Xiaozhai stuck out his tongue and said, "Everyone is just learning skills."
Fu Yuan was speechless: "It would be better to give everyone a pistol!"
Chapter 25 The Root of the Problem
Confucianism is the most selfish discipline in the world!
Taoists "communicate with the spirit of heaven and earth alone", but at least they also emphasize "harmony between heaven and man", and advise people not to go against the laws of nature.
All Confucian knowledge is for the purpose of achieving oneself!
In fact, Confucianism can be summarized in one sentence: A gentleman seeks within himself!
Many people like to glorify Confucianism, thinking that Confucianism focuses on society, human relations, etc.
But the core of Confucianism is oneself, what one should do, what kind of person one wants to be, and what one's ideals and aspirations are...
Only after you have achieved success yourself can you influence others.
Wang Yangming said: Before you see this flower, this flower and your heart are both in silence. When you look at this flower, its color becomes clear all of a sudden, and you know that this flower is not outside your heart.
Even everything in the world belongs to "my mind"!
If this isn’t selfish, what is?
……
In the living room, Fu Yuan and Du Xiaozhai were communicating with each other, while Zeng Yueyi was listening beside them, his eyes brighter and brighter.
Mainly, Du Xiaozhai was talking about things in the circle of extraordinary people, and Fu Yuan asked additional questions.
"...The older generation has their own circles. They used to often get together with the younger generation, but in recent years, the younger generation has formed their own circles..."
"The younger generation of our Quanzhen lineage also has their own circles. Last year, I met Lu Linglong, a lay disciple from the Quanzhen Longmen Baiyun Temple... That girl is about my age. Not only is she formidable, but she's also very responsible. One cannot help but admire her...
But even though I admire her, the gap between my abilities and hers is too big to fit into her circle."
"Speaking of Lu Linglong, she's not only a disciple of Baiyun Temple, but also the great-granddaughter of Lu Jin, one of the Ten Lords, and one of the four great families of the extraordinary people..."
"The four major families of the aliens are the Wang family. The head of the family is Wang Ai, one of the Ten Lords. I heard that the family's inherited method is called "Divine Painting", but I don't know the specific effect.
