Five days passed in the blink of an eye, nothing worth mentioning really happened unless you count being punished for sleeping in classes as important.

Vayne currently surrounded by mountains of books within the library skimming from pages to pages adding knowledge to his encyclopedia. it's very convenient that all he have to do is look and it's automatically recorded by the system, his 'quick reading' and 'memorizing' each and every content of the books are seen as weird and creepy by most other students. he is also branded a freak for memorizing the extra heavy and thick alchemy book in alchemy class, among his peers he is the first to take the practical lesson. memorizing the theory and knowledge from the book gave him the passive skill "basic alchemy knowledge" and the lesson gave him "basic mixtures concoction". he complained to himself about only learning the most basic of the skill but little did he know if people heard that he would be beaten black and blue because learning a skill just by attending class once is considered impossible.

with that thought he closed the book in his hand and place it on the table, he then lean on his chair and thought about the convenience of his current life, just by reading he would get skills for example reading numerous books about plants have now given him "herbalist" skill, allowing him to identify and spot plants and their effects, a good skill to have. likewise for books about animals and beast, it allows him to identify edible animals and beast including what materials could be gathered from them with the skill "hunter" but this skill doesn't seem to apply for monsters.

now as he returned the books to their shelves, he have a satisfied smile. his attention is on the newest skill he gained called "explorer" this skill gave him a map function and it's constantly showing and mapping wherever he'd been, it's placed on the top left corner of the HUD. originally the skill only give an overview map but after integrating it with the system scan function it is now able to show a 3D map view and the mapping range increased to as much as the scan range. sadly said modifications ate all his remaining Rewrite Point and he still have no idea how to replenish it.

although that reminds him of a certain skill, the skill from the assignment. the skill is called "devourer" a skill that would automatically consume and store life essence from anything he kills, if anything this is his best bet for replenishing it.

talking about the assignment he thought about his friends as he leave the library. the team work of his friends were great, the only broken rhythm is his actions and to top it off, the wolves didn't give any exp as they are only common animals. well, let's just forget about it, that fight actually gave a bit of status increase so it's acceptable.

A luxurious grand throne room somewhere

"how's the progress?" ask a dignified man decorated with a golden crown on his head.

"it's going well my liege, if everything goes according to plan we'll be ready to start the invasion in two years." answer an eye patched man in a crimson heavy armor.

"good, when the time comes, do not fail me general." the dignified man said clearly pleased with his answer.

"yes, I shall succeed and present this continent to you my king!" the eye patched man firmly answer as he kneel.

little did they know a shadow have been listening in on their conversation, after mumbling something the shadow disappear without a trace.
