Royal Mob Takes It All

Three Heavenly Demons, Barzeph — there’s no mistaking that name. He’s one of the boss characters in [Let’s Go Crush the Demon King]. However, I believe this guy was the first boss to appear after advancing a little further in the main storyline.

Barzeph pulled out the great sword on his back and pointed it towards Princess Leia.

“The other day, a weak graduate took care of her. But today, I’m personally going to take the princess with me.”

“Weak graduates? You mean the gargoyles?”

“Yes, Them.”

I see. This was unexpected. No, it was a situation that should normally have been expected. In this game world, the princess is an important character with the ability to use ancient magic. There’s no way Demon King would have given up after one failed raid.

“Morgan-san, please lend me your spear. Also, I need your help with the fallen soldier.”

“Nuh? Uh, yeah, okay.”

When I ask this, Morgan-san, who was frozen by the sudden appearance of Barzeph, throws his spear towards me.

I don’t know why, but she doesn’t seem too anxious. Do you trust me that much, me? Well, if that’s the case, then I’ll respond to that feeling for now.

At any rate, if the princess is taken prisoner by the Demon King, there is no one else to rescue her but the hero Arc. Then it will develop into an elopement end for Ark and Princess Leia, just as in the original game’s shit scenario. I don’t like that one bit, no, I hate it so much.

Dullahan swings his great sword. A highly transparent black ball was released from it. It is the skill, ‘Shadow Ball’. It is Dullahan’s signature dark attribute attack that breaks through all physical defenses and inflicts damage. I, who had prior knowledge, of course, avoided it.

As might be expected of one of the boss character, there is absolutely no gap in his swordsmanship. He is incomparably stronger than the gargoyles – but alas, he is no match for me.

Barzeph put up a solid defense, immediately, using his thick great sword as a shield. But I don’t care. I set my sights on the center of that great sword. Then I activated my skill – ‘Vortex’..

An electric shock pierces through the sword’s defense and strikes Barzeef directly. The ‘Vortex’, a lightning-attribute attack skill with a defense-penetrating effect.

“Sorry, I’ve already studied it. Your level, the skills you hold and your weak points like back of my hand”

H’s just an early boss in the game, and I had a hard time the first time I played against him, but that’s why this Barzeph is such a memorable character. His level is 25, which is quite high compared to the gargoyles.

But… I’ve grown a lot since the last battle as well. Especially the new skill ‘Vortex’ is particularly impressive. This is an attack with the lightning attribute, which is Barzeph’s weak attribute, so I knew I could fight with a rather good chance.

Even so, I was surprised when I checked my status a while after I woke up. I didn’t really notice it while I was fighting so recklessly, but in addition to my level increasing rapidly, my skills had also changed drastically. In the first place, skill change wasn’t in the game.

Clink, clink! I only shoot ‘vortex’ while dodging Barzeph’s attack.

It seems that reality is very different from the game. But I couldn’t just let him go. If the Demon King finds out about my existence, and sends me a monster of a higher level than Barzeph, I can’t handle it as of now, as expected.

Barzeph is quick. If this continues, he will leave the throne room first. If he takes the guards, maids and others hostage outside, it will be very troublesome.
