Both of them nodded.

Unlike Adrian, the kitten in front of Dennis had ginger fur and brown eyes. Leaning down, he directly picked up the kitten instead of waiting for it to approach him like Adrian.

Although the kitten struggled slightly, leading to a scratch on Dennis' hand, it was soon tamed by Dennis and was comfortable in his hold.

Seeing how the ginger kitten warmed up against Dennis made Adrian feel motivated, and he was determined to get his white kitten to be fond of him as well. The only problem to this was that he had no clue on how to do that.

Raising his head, he stared at Odette with a pout upon his features. His bottom lip was protruded forward while he looked at her for help.

Odette shrugged her shoulders and said, "This is your kitten, so deal it on your own. The kitten should get close to you if you try to feed it though."

Despite of Odette's former cold words, Adrian had a wide smile forming on his face at her latter words, and he nodded his head enthusiastically.

"What do kittens like?" Adrian questioned.

"Figure that out on your own," Odette answered, "I have already helped you enough. It would not be fun if I told you about everything. Look at how competent Dennis is."

"Dennis is bigger than me. That's why, he knows more than me. Help me, Lady Odette, please," Adrian vocalised, blinking his eyes multiple times at her.

"Milk."

That's what Odette simply mentioned before turning her back on Adrian and walking towards the door. When Adrian used that tone and look on her, she found it difficult to resist him.

She wondered whether or not he was aware of that since he always stared at her with those doe, innocence filled eyes whenever he wanted something. Her willpower, when it came to Adrian, was decreasing as time passed by.

From that one word of Odette, Adrian understood what Odette meant and spoke out, "Thank you, Lady Odette!"

From the way Odette acted, it was not difficult for Dennis to notice she was starting to favour Adrian more and more. This send him into a panic, and being aware that he will be disposed of if she doesn't like him, he knew that he had to do something fast.

Hearing that familiar loud and cheerful scream, Odette instantly knew who it could be from. There is only person who was capable of being this noisy at her manor— not that she disliked it.

Odette loosened her grip against the rose petals and watched as the red petals withered on to the ground before turning back to face the energetic five year old.

Held in his hand was the white kitten, and with a bright smile upon his features, he raised the kitten up— bȧrėly managing to do that because of the kitten's weight.

"Lady Odette, see, it allowed me to pick it up! You were right! The milk worked perfectly!"
