Many times in her previous life she was kidnapped, and it wasn't uncommon for those people to ŀust after her and want her in that way regardless of her age.

Nonetheless, no matter how high their dėsɨrės were they were all scared of the consequences that might come from delaying, and therefore, they did not touch her in that way.

The man in front of her wanted to do the same to her as well, but he was scared of the abomination in front of him. Letting go of her would probably be too detrimental for him.

"Coward," Odette voiced out, "Why do you have to act all righteous? It's not like there are anyone in this room other than us. Is it fun to be all hypocritical? I don't know how it feels. Can you describe it to me?"

The more the man looked, the more she did not seem to be a normal child. Even calling her crazy seemed like an understatement to him. Those eyes of hers infuriated him to the point he wanted to dig them out.

Not being able to bear with her, he was able to finish her off at that moment, and Odette yet wasn't able to find a chance to rescue herself. She just needed the man to slip slightly, but the man in front of her was being too cautious.

As her vision was starting to get blurry, Odette thought that she was done for when she suddenly heard the man let out a scream, and due to that, his legs that were pressing on her exerted less force compared to before.

Not wanting to think about what happened, Odette immediately lifted her leg to kick the man, and the corner of her lips curved upwards while she acted swiftly.

After a couple of moves, the man was lying on the ground, alive, while her foot was on top of his stomach and other arm. The dagger in her hand pierced through his shoulder.

She laughed and said, "You fool, you shouldn't have wasted your time to talk to me. It's indeed a pity, seeing how were so close to killing me. Want to hear something funny? I am a monster with extremely good luck."

Before the man was able to curse out more at her, she killed him off, not wanting to drag this further. Her throat felt sore after all that, and she had a hard time trying to talk further.

Turning her head, she faced Adrian. It was because of how he bit the man was her life saved. Other than anger, her ċhėst felt heavy due to another emotion.

She wasn't able to name it. This wasn't the first time someone saved her life, but she did not understand the reason behind her feeling this way towards Adrian.

She did not have the strength to move at that.

"I was so scared, Lady Odette. I was really scared that you will die. When I saw that man trying to kill you, I was really scared. Lady Odette, I am sorry that I couldn't protect you. I wanted to fight against them too, but I was too frightened.

Lady Odette, next time, I won't be like this. I promise. I will protect you no matter what, Lady Odette. I promise you."

Although Adrian was merely a child, Odette felt touched at such words. Maybe this was the first time someone was this sincere to her, and she bit on her lower lip to suppress the emotions.

Odette knew that he was scared yet instead of running away, he saved her. In midst of all that, he did not care much about the fact that she killed someone in front of him.

Moving away from the embrace, she looked the child, who had tears glimmering at the corner of his eyes, and flicked on his forehead.

Then, she spoke out, "How dare you move from that place after I ordered you to stay put? And you talk about protecting me when you are this weak? What do you think that you would be able to do?"

"I will grow strong then.. I promise you."
