Day 64: A Slightly Sad End

After arriving in the town of Ruffa, we headed straight to the guild.
I made my report to the usual lady who was there, and also converted the gathered items into money.
However, as they had to do a detailed appraisal of the Golem, I would not be rewarded for that until tomorrow…
Well, as long as I could get money for the gathered items today, I would be fine.

When I exited the guild, I temporarily parted ways with Rai and the others.
We planned to celebrate tonight, but I had to prepare and take a bath first…

He had stayed like this the whole time since yesterday… It’s like he has gone back to the original Rai.

Upon hearing those words, Rai’s eyes blinked.

Yes, this day may be when we say goodbye.
However, I am an Adventurer. And if your goal is to become an Adventurer too, then we might meet again some day.
And so learn to use this, and become a great Adventurer.
Next time, we can form a proper party and adventure together, alright? It’s a promise.

I said with a laugh, and then Rai wiped away his tears and laughed back.
Hehe. He finally smiled again.

After that, dinner continued amidst a cheerful mood, and then we disbanded when it was quite late into the night.
We were now outside of the guild. Rai was sleeping gently on Mr. Sebas’s back.
I looked at his face and patted him gently on the head… I’ll be waiting. As long as it takes.

After saying goodbye to them, I watched their backs until they disappeared into the shadows.

…And like that, what had been a depressing job for me, ended with a slight feeling of loneliness.
