Chapter 4: Chapter 4

I walked out of Hapjung Station as I examined the blade in my hands.

-[Item: Kasaka's Poisoned Blade]

Item Rarity: B

Type: Longsword

+35 Attack

A sword forged with the fangs of Kasaka. There are amounts of Kasaka's venom still in the sword, so when attacking it will cause paralysis, bleeding, and poison effects. Can be stored in the inventory, or sold in the store.

Status Effect 'Paralysis': The target will be unable to move. Success rate is 70%.

Status Effect 'Bleeding': The target's stamina will reduce by 1% each second.

Status Effect 'Poison': The targets health will decrease by 2% each hour, if target has 0 stamina the damage will be multiplied 4x. The target will not be able to regain health until healed properly, ex: Healing magic, Healing potion.

'Holy Sh*t!' I yelled in my mind, taking out the blade that looked like a longer version of Jin-Woo's dagger.

Even though I didn't get the snake sac or whatever, I got an even better weapon than Jin-Woo! And it's a sword, which I like more than daggers.'

As I was lamenting over the awesomeness of my new weapon, I felt something with my perception.

'So Jin-Woo is over there? Where the magic beast is....' I thought looking into the distance.

'Oh yeah, there was some dungeon break and that big rock guy was let out into the middle of the street.'

Knowing what was going to happen, I didn't pay it any mind and just went back to the hospital.

...

...

...

It's been a few days since the instant dungeon, and today is the day me and Jin-Woo get discharged.

I'm honestly not so excited about it, considering I have nowhere to go besides my lonely apartment, but I'll do something.

"100!"

"125!"

2

Me and Jin-Woo yelled simultaneously as our sweat dripped on the floor.

"Man, why do you get to do less than me?" I whispered as I got up from the floor.

"I guess I'm just special." Jin-Woo responded, making both of us chuckle.

"I'm coming in!" The door opened revealing a nurse in her green uniform.

"Oh!" She gasped, blushing as she saw me and Jin-Woo's shirtless chests.

"Ah! I'm sorry." He said, grabbing a towel to wipe down his sweaty body.

"N-No, it's my bad." The nurse said, turning her head away from us as she fully entered the room.

"Uhm, are you both being discharged today?" She asked us nervously.

"Yes." Jin-Woo said, pulling his shirt over his head.

"If it's okay could I get your numbers?" The nurse asked, startling me.

*Cough*

"Excuse me what?" I said.

"O-Oh, well, I just wanted to know If I could get your numbers?" She asked again, her face blushing as she tried to hide her shyness.

She stuck her phone out towards the clueless Jin-Woo, surprising me.

"Well, it's fine with me. Please wait a moment." Jin-Woo said, taking the pink phone and putting in his number.

'How could I forget this!'

"Here ya go." He said, handing his phone back to the Nurse.

She walked over to me shyly and asked for the same thing.

"Uhm, y-yours too?" Her face was beet red as she placed the phone in front of me.

"Okay!" I yelled, almost snatching the phone out of her hand.

I violently typed in my number as my fingers almost cracked the screen.

"Here ya go!" I handed the phone back to the bewildered lady, and watched as she just left the room confused.

"Jin-Woo! Do you not understand what just happened?!" I yelled at him, grabbing onto his shoulders as I looked up into his eyes.

'Hey now, why has this guy grown so much but I haven't grown an Inch?!' I thought to myself seeing the height difference.

13

"Uhh, N-No?" Jin-Woo stuttered, confused.

"She was hitting on us! Maybe she wants to go on a date or something, she might even have a friend for you!" I said, letting go of him and jumping around the room with excitement.

4

"Really? Nah, I'm pretty sure she just wanted our numbers in case of an emergency check-up or something." He said, putting his finger on his chin as he went into thinking mode.

"Yeah, she was really considerate." He said with a smile.

'How dense is this guy?' I questioned as I stopped jumping around and just looked at him with a deadpan expression.

3

"I'll have to get going soon, I don't want to keep Jin-Ah waiting." Said Jin-Woo as he changed his clothes, wanting to get home.

"Well if you need anything just call me." I said, as he exited the room.

"Same to you."

He waved me off as he left.

'Now, what should I do?'

...

...

...

I had looked online and found a dungeon that needed people. I quickly decided to accept the offer seeing it was a C Rank dungeon that accepted E Rankers.

I didn't even think about anything else.

After accepting the offer I quickly called up the number, then made my way towards the construction site the gate was located at.

'My first real dungeon since I don't think Hapjung Station counts.' I thought to myself as I spun a rusty dagger around my fingers.

After I could see the group of people in the distance, I quickly put my dagger away and approached them.

"Yo! This way you two!" A burly man said to me as I got close.

'Wait. Two?' I thought in my mind as I turned around.

'Ah come on. What are the chances.' I think, seeing the familiar man in blue hoodie and jeans.

"Sung Jin-Woo. Are you stalking me by any chance?" I said, walking up to my companion, slinging my arm around his shoulders.

"I should say that to you." He said, continuing to walk towards the group.

"This can't be a coincidence."

"Well sorry to break it to ya, but it is." I responded, chuckling.

'Seriously, how did I forget about this. And how many people will accept an E Rank to a C rank gate.' I thought, face palming as we greeted the crew.

"I'm Hwang Dong-Suk. What are your names again?" The burly man who I now recognized as Hwang Dong-Su's older brother, spoke to us.

'This guy's a flat out killer.' I scoffed as he shook both of our hands.

"Sung Jin-Woo." Jin-Woo said.

"Sky Tenki." I said almost immediately after Jin-Woo.

"You're both E Ranks, correct?"

*Chuckle*

""Yes"" We both said, turning off to the side as we saw two people laughing at us.

'That magician and... I don't even remember this redhead.' I said, looking straight at the two.

"Hey, I know you guys! You're both pretty famous..." The redhead said, pointing at me and Jin-Woo.

"What were your nicknames.." He said, going into thought.

"Oh yeah! The world's weakest hunters!" He said with a snap of his fingers.

"You're the weakest, almost completely useless." He said, pointing to Jin-Woo.

"And you would probably be ranked even lower than him if it wasn't for your abnormal healing factor!" He yelled at me, breaking into laughter with his buddy.

"Pffft! What the hell!" The magician cackled.

'I can't wait to murder these guys.' I said, giving them a killing glance.

'Wait, what am I saying?' I said, confused.

'Never mind, why should this even be a problem. All of these guys are murderers...' I thought before Hwang Dong-Suk spoke.

"Stop it. The most important thing here is numbers." He said, placing his hands on our shoulders.

"Like I said on the phone, it's going to be hard for you both to fight as it's a C Rank Gate. So you're both exempted from fighting, but I'll still pay you both two million won for filling up or member count. Hell, we even exceeded it! It's a good deal, right?" He smiled at us, and handed paper to us both.

""Yes"" Me and Jin-Woo responded simultaneously.

"Then sign here on this contract."

After handing us both the contract he left us and reconnected with his group.

"You know this isn't right." I said approaching Jin-Woo.

"Hmm?" Jin-Woo said, motioning he was intrigued.

"They're a party of 8, and seem very well acquainted, like they've been on dozens of raids together. Why would they still only have 8 people?" I said signing the contract.

"But hey, money is money and I'm confident that there is no way they can take me out, add you to the picture and there's no problem." I said, smiling to Jin-Woo as I noticed someone approaching.

'Ah, the fateful encounter.' I thought.

"Yeah, I need the money anyways." Jin-Woo said as the person approaching finally reached us.

"Excuse it seems we're all small fries..." An energetic voice sounded as Jin-Woo looked up from the paper in his hands.

"I'm Yoo Jin-Ho. I'm twenty-two, and the rank's D." The man in shining orange armor said, winking with a smile showing his shining teeth.

"I was called here as well, under the same circumstance as you guys." Right before Jin-Ho finished speaking, I could see Hwang Dong-Suk coming back towards us.

"Well what should we do?" Jin-Woo said, almost completely ignoring the shiny man before him as he focused on Hwang Dong-Suk.

"Nothin' much, just follow us and take care of our baggage." He said, looking at the pile of large bags to his left.

"There's food, clothes, equipment, a first aid kit... just about anything you would need."

"Are we going without a healer?" Jin-woo asked.

"You know how har..." I completely drowned out all outside noise as I examined all the hunters present.

'If I didn't already know what was going to happen, I would've probably been just as oblivious as Jin-Woo.' I thought to myself.

"Sir, let's go inside!" The magician yelled, pulling me out of my mind.

"We'll beat them all anyway so you really don't need to explain much." The red head said, causing me to make an annoyed face.

"Well, it's time we went inside." Hwang Dong-Suk said to us, as I pulled Jin-Woo along with me and Jin-Ho followed.

"This'll be an experience..."
