Spending A Lovey-Dovey College Life With A Spoiled Childhood Friend

I’ve got no classes today. So, I’ve been playing a new RPG since this morning.

 

“Ryu, that boss’ weak point is probably fire. So I think the hero’s fire magic will work against it.”

 

I knew she was going to say something like that while using my lap as a pillow. How can she be looking at the screen in that position?

 

“Miyu, have you ever played this game before?”

 

I wondered if she had been secretly playing this game by herself.

 

“The Boss looks like they have an obvious ice attribute. Besides, it heals with the ice attribute.”

“Oh~ I see, Just as I thought.”

 

I understood what she said, but I didn’t know she was observing so much while lying on my lap.

 

I followed her advice and attacked with the hero’s fire magic, which did a lot of damage.

 

“Oh! I got it!”

“Right?”

 

Now that I knew its weakness attribute, the next step was difficult.

 

“How do I make it go on Break…”

 

In this RPG, you can put enemies into a state called “Break” by attacking them with their weakest attribute in succession.

　

In the break state, you can damage the enemy without guarding, so you want to aim for the Break.

 

“Lend it to me for a bit.”

“H-hey.”

 

As soon as Miyu took the controller from me, she quickly selects the skills that the main character and his companions will use.

 

“Wow, You really got it into Break.”

 

The main character is the only one who has the weakness attribute of fire, so I was wondering what was going on.

But, when she successfully guessed the other weakness attributes and hit the right skills, the boss was in a state of Break in no time.

 

“Here.”

 

She returned the controller. I guess I’ll have to do the rest myself.

Well, I’ll take it from here.

 

“All right.”

 

I Remembered Miyu’s control and hit the command to continue the break.

Then, when the boss recovers from the Break, I repeat the Break.

After repeating this process about four times, the boss disappeared in a flash.

 

“Okay! We won!”

“Yay!”

 

I gave Miyu a high-five. She seems to be having a lot more fun than I thought.

After defeating the boss, the story progressed, so I saved the game and stopped.

 

“Ah– it’s almost noon. What should we do for lunch?”

 

My stomach began to growl.

 

“I’ll make some.”

“Let’s eat outside for at least today.”

 

I have a little bit of pride, though, because I feel shameful if all I do is have other people make me food all the time.

 

“Why don’t we go to Clarice’s across the street?”

 

Clarice’s is located on the second floor of the building across the street from our apartment.

It seems to be a set meal restaurant that sells Grilled Chicken (according to Kawaguchi-san).

 

“Hmm, I guess it’s okay once in a while.”

 

So, I left the house with only my wallet and phone. It’s across the street, so it’s only a minute walk.

It’s nice to be so close.

 

“For two people, is it?”

 

After that, we were led to an open table.

 

“I was told that the Grilled Chicken set is highly recommended.”

 

Kawaguchi-san was the one who told me about this.

 

“Then, I’ll have that, too.”

 

The menu was easily decided. After waiting for a while, a plate of Grilled Chicken, hot and almost splattered with oil, was brought to us.

I could smell the delicious aroma of oil and chicken.

 

“”Thanks for the food!””

 

I was hungry, so I quickly took a forkful of the chicken and put it in my mouth.

 

“Delicious! Why does this taste so good!?”

“I wonder if the oil they use is different. The sauce is also…”

 

Saying this, I quickly finished off the grilled chicken set.

Then a Panna Cotta, which looked like an after-dinner dessert, was brought in. It also looked delicious.

 

Suddenly, I felt a pair of eyes on me. Apparently, she was curious about my Panna Cotta.

 

“Do you want some of mine? I don’t like it that much.”

 

I lied when I said I didn’t like it that much. [EDN: This MC is quite a smooth one, but rather dense kekw.]

 

“Yes! Thank you!”

 

If she looked so happy like this, then I’m glad I gave it to her.

 

Satisfied, we left Clarice’s. In the afternoon, it was time to read. We played games in the morning, so we started to read on our stack of e-books.

 

Then we silently read the books we both wanted to read. I’m reading the latest edition of a light novel about an ability battle. I had been curious about it since the previous volume had been so thought-provoking. I read the book in silence for more than two hours. When I finished reading the book and turned off the device, I heard a quiet breathing noise.

 

I looked down to see Miyu sleeping soundly on my lap, her innocent sleeping face exposed. I stroked her hair and she smiled as though it felt nice for her.   

When I looked at her again with her somewhat baby face, soft hair and the parts of her only visible in moderation, I honestly think she is still cute. Her clothes are girly and the word ‘cute’ suits her more than ‘beautiful’.

 

Suddenly, I noticed that I was close enough to plant a kiss on her lips. I started to think “If I keep going like this…”, but then I snapped out of it. That was a close call. I was about to do something from which there was no going back. [TLN: JUST DO IT!!!!]

 

Miyu is my childhood friend, Miyu is my childhood friend… though I chant this in my head like a prayer to the Buddha, her being a childhood friend doesn’t necessarily change anything. Miyu is my little sister, Miyu is my little sister… I insistently repeated this in my head and waited for my uneasiness to subsided.
