"Have you offended anyone lately?" Alvin asked without beating around the bush.

He came up with a conclusion that whoever putting pressure on his family due to his son. Thus, calling him back today was for Alvin to find out how to pacify whoever David's offended.

Stunned by his father sudden inquiry, David turned his head side by side, indicating his innocence.

"Why, father? Did something major happened?" David asked like a good son he is. But what David really concern is if there anything would impact his extravagant lifestyle.

"Nothing major, son. Just that our few of our partners were cutting off and several deals were cancelled recently. So, i just wonder why."

David thought of his action slapping Sophie during EDEM's gala previous night, but he quickly dismissed that as he quite confident that Sophie would never go against him. Ever.

"Well, you shouldn't be worry much father. In a case where we are low in capital, we can always ask the Shanes to give us some."

The Shanes have always been their lifeline to stay afloat. Alvin and Albert were childhood friend. The first time they met when their mothers were attending a tea party and they clicked ever since.

Growing up together, facing obstacles together made them agreed to become in laws. Thus, the engagement of Sophie and David.

"Talking about Shane, how's Sophie?" Alvin asked.

Wilda heard the topic now changed to her beloved soon to be daughter in law, chipped in.

"David, it had been years since Sophie last visited. Is she too busy with her company?"

David faked a smile and reply.

"Sophie quite busy managing Staller, that is why she unable to visit you frequently, mother. But if you lonely, I can ask Lily to accompany you."

"Lily? Which Lily?" Wilna asked in confusion.

"Lily Watanabe, mother. Eldest daughter of the Watanabe".

"Ah, that young lady. Its okay, don't burden her to come. She must be busy helping out her family, right. It's okay."

"It's fine, mother. I'll ask Lily to come and visit you whenever she's free."

"Fine. But I still want you to remind Sophie to visit me too. We need to do mother-daughter in law bonding." Wilna reply with enthusiasm.

"Even Sophie isn't here, you could bond with Lily instead."

Feeling her son double meaning, Wilna can't help herself from asking, "You and Lily. Are you in relationship with her?"
