The Adventurer System

Chapter 255 - Grim And Asarki Vs New Monsters

Grim and Asarki received a new quest given by the system. Well, it was not surprising for Yumiro since he was always gained a special quest for good no reason.

[Zexel on!]

To avoid the worst-case scenario, she activated her passive so she can see all the things that had mana closer to them. She was standing in front of the one hundred meters hanging bridge. It was stable and as of now, there were no monsters existence.

She sighed deeply and said. "Hais... Are you sure I'm taking this bridge first?" Although the bridge was not moving, still, Asarki was terrified.

"Why? Are you scared?" He asked her in a deep tone.

She nodded her head without hesitation. In her mind, why she needs to pretend that she was not scared? It can just ruin their current situation.

"Yes, Grim, I'm afraid of heights." She responded in a low tone, then bowed her head a bit.

For Grim, this woman was not lying to him. How he was certain? He noticed Asarki was trembling when she stepped her foot on the wooden surface.

"Fine. I'll take the front line and you: you can hold my back. But watch your steps and stop trembling because it will be the main reason to lose the stability of this bridge." He warned her, then entered the bridge.

With their current relationship, Asarki and Grim didn't have a hard time since they could easily tell their weakness and strength.

Grim looked at his back as Asarki held his waist. 'She's still stopping from trembling. Hmm... I can't do anything about it since I didn't know why she's afraid of these heights.'

It appeared that even the player was inside the game. They can still bring their traumas, problem, etc. Just like what Grim did at the very beginning, but now, he can slowly overcome his trauma.

"Grim, I'll close my eyes, I can't walk to this bridge if I won't." She reminded him as she could not use her passive skill when her eyes were closed.

"That's fine." To easily pass this bridge, he agreed as he could also use his skill to determine if there was a monster that would approach them.

Two of them were starting to move slowly by surely. Grim was looking around but avoided looking at them under the bridge as it could destroy his concentration. From afar, he discovered numerous bats flying around in the mansion. Well, it was not surprising since their main opponent here was a vampire.

Bam!

Alas, Grim stepped out of the bridge without having any difficulties. "Asarki, you can open your eyes now. We already reached the place." He said while looking at Asarki's hands that tightly grabbed his waist.

She slowly opened her eyes, then took a glance at her behind.

Thud!

She fell to the ground, relieved that she already passed the most hardest part for her. "F-Finally." She stuttered as she remained in this position for a couple of minutes.

Grim gave his hand to her. "How long do you want to stay here? Come on we need to finish our quest here?" He said, asking her to assist.

Even though she was clueless, she also gave her hand at him and said. "Thanks..." Her face was reddened, wondering why this man was being the gentleman to her.

'This is the true behavior of Grim Draigh?' She uttered to her mind as she remembered again the words said to her by Grim's little sister.

'Try to understand him, and you didn't know brother Grim would open his problem to you.'

Those were the exact words that can't erase inside her mind. Still, thinking what his problem why he needed to act like that. 'I need to stop judging him. Since I didn't know his true life after he leaves this virtual game.'

After Grim lifted her, two of them walked towards the black gate. Or to be exact, inside the vampire's mansion.

She was taken aback as the bats were flying in front of them. "What the-!" Luckily, those bats were just ordinary bats that they could see in the real world.

"Shh... Keep quiet, Asarki, we didn't know when the vampire would attack us." He placed his index finger in front of his lips and faced her.

She covered her mouth and used the system function to send her message to him. 'I'm sorry, Grim, I didn't see them coming.'

'Don't mind it, just focus on this expedition.'

Both of them were standing now in front of the black gate. Behind this gate, there were two pillars and 200 meters distance before reaching the mansion.

Around, were full of grasses, and a fountain that released human blood. They were certain about it since it had the sensation of an iron that hanging insider their noses.

As soon as Grim would place his hands to the gate, he was shocked as it was automatically opened. It appeared the dungeon boss was welcoming them.

'Grim, the gate was opened.' Asarki said.

He gave his nod at her, then slowly rubbed his chin as he fully understood the situation. 'Yes, Asarki, just watch out for the surroundings and let me know if you notice something suspicious.'

They entered the gate, at first, all the things were calm outside of the mansion until they reached the door.

Now, he placed his hands at the door and forced it to open.

Bam!

Inside were straight paths and had numerous pillars to the different sides. To describe easily describe the place, it was just like an ordinary mansion that had antique items displayed all over the place and upstairs that heading to the large room.

He pointed his index finger at the red gleaming door over the stairs. 'Asarki, that is the place where is the dungeon boss located.'

She nodded her head at him as she could easily tell that was the dungeon boss room by just looking at it. 'You're right, Grim, but if you notice we can't defeat the monsters here. Can you use the strongest skills that you have?'

She was pointing was the [Core devourer] skill that Grim Draigh. Even though she didn't how he possibly activated that skill, still, she knew how strong that skill was.

'No, problem, Asarki. Also, there's no reason to limit my capability here.' He smiled at him, then stepped inside the mansion.

Zing!

And all of a sudden, both of them were shocked when there were multiple magic circles scattered all over the place. And Yumiro tugged Asarki closer to him as the door was closed forcefully.

Thud!

"Stand up, Asarki, the monsters are respawning," Grim warned him and Asarki took out his kobold's knife with the enhancement of the toxic gul.

"Grim, it looks like the dungeon boss is already setting up these traps." Asarki hurriedly, then ready her magic staff and knife.

The circles were releasing distorted lights that no one could stare at. Until two minutes had passed and a new type of monster was standing in front of them.

Different types of mythical beasts, in this game, were different as they had kangaroo, lion, fox, wolf, and human bat.

Yes. Five new types of monsters were going to face. The first was a kangaroo, it had a dark violet crystal on its forehead, two blades in its arms like a mantis, three meters tall, and given its outstanding speed and strength.

The next one was the lion, it had the violet crystal on its chest, sharp claws and fangs, three meters tall, bulky muscle, and given the aggressiveness and speed.

The third one was the fox, it had black fur, a violet crystal on its nape, two meters tall, and sharp reflexes.

The fourth one was the wolf, it had dark fur, seven horns, violet crystal on its body, sharp claws, and fangs. But it was different from the wolves he fought before as Asarki said it has high magical power.

The last one was the bat had the human body, also it was the one who strongest than the four monsters. To describe its appearance, it had black eyes, black silky scales, two antennas on its forehead, an average human body, and had a violet crystal on the center of its chest.

To be exact, those were the monster's high magical power and the main reason for it was the crystal implanted in them.

Tsk!

Yumiro clicked his tongue as those monsters were not ordinary monsters. Seemingly, this situation would test how much strength he gained after those days and passed. Aside from that, the teamwork he made with this woman.

Asarki was obviously terrified as it was the first time she will face those types of monsters. "G-Grim, be ready, I feel they would attack once those magic circles vanish." She stammered, knowing she can't fight any monsters that exist in this mansion.

He nodded his head at her and said. "Don't worry, Asarki, you will not take any damages as long as I'm here." He mildly tapped her back and added.. "So now, give me a buff so we can end this fight."
