The Ancient Wizards of Hogwarts

Chapter 11 Fantastic Beasts and Gringotts

In the evening, Arthur Weasley, carrying his briefcase, pushed open the door halfway and walked into the kitchen to greet his family with a smile:

"Good evening, kids."

"Good evening, Dad."

"Good evening, Arthur." Mrs. Weasley came over and poured the black pepper steak fried in the pan onto Mr. Weasley's plate with a smile.

Mr. Weasley kissed the side of Mrs. Weasley's face, then pulled out the chair and sat down in the main seat.

He wore a dusty, old green robe. He was thin and slightly bald, but his hair was as red as his children's.

Mr. Weasley looked at the boy placed on his right by Mrs. Weasley and said with a smile:

"Oh, are you Ash? Dumbledore mentioned you in the letter he wrote to me."

Ash put down his knife and fork, wiped his mouth with a napkin, and said politely:

"Yes sir, I'm Ash Black."

"Polite boy."

Mr. Weasley pressed his hand and said with a smile:

"But there's no need to be so polite, just treat this place as your home, okay?"

"Arthur."

Mrs. Weasley said softly:

"Ash gave Ron a new wand."

"Oh!" Mr. Weasley looked at his youngest son in surprise, and Ron responded by taking out his wand and showing it, looking extremely excited. He held the wand tightly even while eating, fearing that it was just a dream.

"This is too expensive..."

Mr. Weasley frowned, but when he caught his wife's gaze, he quickly smiled and said:

"Thanks for the gift though, Ash, Ron has always wanted a new wand."

He paused and added:

"However, I originally planned to take Ron to Ollivander's in two days."

"You always say that." Ron muttered softly. He heard a rustling sound from his feet, which made him lower his head and saw a fat gray mouse.

"Hey, Scabbers, you're here." Ron said, placing a piece of bread on the ground, and the mouse crawled over to eat it.

Ash cut off a piece of steak and suddenly paused, as if he suddenly remembered something, and asked curiously:

"Mr. Weasley, have you heard of Dicko?"

"Dick?" Mr. Weasley thought for a while and suddenly realized:

"Oh, you mean your great-grandfather's house elf? Yes, great-great-grandmother told us about it."

He considered his tone and then said:

"After your great-grandfather, um, left, great-great-grandmother originally wanted to help take care of it. But Dicko suddenly disappeared from Hogwarts for some reason. No one could find it, and great-great-grandmother never heard about it. "

"Gone?"

Ash was a little surprised, but felt it was reasonable.

A hundred years ago, Dicko had been responsible for helping Ash take care of the magical animals he rescued. And when Dicko learned that he was 'dead', he certainly didn't want Ash's 'legacy' to be appropriated by others, even Professor Weasley.

And since Dicko chose to leave Hogwarts, he must have a clear destination, because it needs to house those magical animals. This place needs to be big enough because there are a lot of magical animals saved by Ash. At the same time, it should be concealed enough that no one can find it.

The places that meet these two conditions at the same time are neither too many nor too few, but Ash can vaguely guess the answer.

The only question is, is Dicko still alive?

Theoretically, wizards generally live longer than ordinary people. The average life span of ordinary people is only seventy years old. There are also many wizards who can live to be a hundred years old, and Dumbledore is one of them. It's just that wars that spread across the world break out in the wizarding world every once in a while, and a large number of wizards die in each war, which invisibly lowers the average lifespan of wizards.

Of course, although wizards will live longer than ordinary people, their longevity is limited. Over a hundred years old is already the limit, and few people can live to be over six hundred years old like Nick Flamel, so research on lifespan has always been one of Ash's key experimental projects.

Compared with wizards, magical creatures have significantly longer lifespans. The average lifespan of house elves is over two hundred years, and that of goblins even longer.

But the problem is that it had already been alive for a long time when Ash met Dicko.

More than a hundred years later, Dicko may no longer be alive, just like Professor Weasley and Professor Figo...

Mr. Weasley noticed that Ash was a little depressed, patted him on the shoulder and comforted him:

"Don't be sad. It may leave some clues in Hogwarts. You can try to find it after you enroll."

"Thank you, Mr. Weasley."

Ash politely expressed his thanks, thought for a moment and then said:

"If possible, can I go to Diagon Alley tomorrow? I want to go to Gringotts to get some money."

"Gringotts?"

Fred and George across from him were staring at Ash intently.

Gringotts is a bank for wizards, and wealthy wizards will choose to have a vault of their own in Gringotts.

So obviously, they have never been to Gringotts.

The Weasley family does have a treasury, but unfortunately there is not a single galleung in it. Instead, they have to pay Gringotts a large management fee every year. Even if they go there, it will only add to the sadness. So they didn't need to go there, and the Weasleys wouldn't take them there.

Mrs. Weasley smiled and said:

Arthur and I both have work to do, so we might not be able to go with you. Well, how about asking Percy to go with you? "

Percy's expression changed and he sat upright.

In fact, he also wanted to go, but he couldn't show it.

"Of course," Ash replied with a smile.

The twins rolled their eyes, and the one on the left immediately raised his hand:

"I want to go too!"

The one on the right said: "I'm Fred, I don't want to go, let George go."

The one on the left is very angry:

"George! You're not Fred!"

"No! George, I am Fred!"

"I'm Fred! You're George!"

Mrs. Weasley angrily pinched her waist and scolded:

"George, Fred, don't be ridiculous!"

Ash said in a gentle tone:

"It's okay, Mrs. Weasley."

"Then let's go together tomorrow. Well, I happen to be going to buy some things. Can you help me get them then?"

"No problem!" George said excitedly:

"I've always had great strength."

Fred shouted dissatisfied:

"Hell, I'm obviously stronger than you!"

Mrs. Weasley looked at her son with a helpless look, and then looked at Ash with a doting look.

She sighed regretfully in her heart, why is such an outstanding child not from the Weasley family?

Ash watched George and Fred noisy with each other with the same smile, seeming to be envious of this family atmosphere - although not.
