The Other Side of A Cultivation Story

Upon entry to the courtyard of Liu Hei's manor, the two were already all smiles as if ready to demonstrate and witness respectively Qai's sort of spectacle.

But what they weren't expecting was the sudden appearance of the chief librarian's wife Liu Hua, emerging from the door of the main house and exuding with a mid Heaven stage in the Sage realm.

"Liu Hua!?" Liu Hei called with a surprised look in his eyes.

"You brokethrough!? His wife replied with the same shock on her face.

Qai just stood on the side grinning as he evidently figured it out quick what actually happened.

With the help if the Supreme grade Vitality Pills, not only were the husband and wife got better, they also broke through to the next level.

"You're one step closer to half-step emperor level, Lady Liu Hua," Qai greeted.

Both Liu Hei and Liu Hua rushed towards each other and hugged one another. And after few breaths, the chief librarian's wife took a look at Qai and spoke to her husband.

"This young one brought us good fortune," she said with a smile.

"Indeed," Liu Hei replied.

The chief librarian also looked at Qai who was simply standing with a wide a grin on his face. He then immediately remembered one of the things they had to do in the courtyard.

"Oh, I almost forgot..," he quickly said. "Our young benefactor here has something to show us."

Qai took a step towards one side of the courtyard and glanced at the couple as if telling them to get ready.

He the mentally communicated with Shandian and summoned the lightning black tiger first.

Instantly a burst of thin lightning formation zoomed out from the spatial pendant and in just a breath, Shandian appeared ferociously in front of the Liu Hei and Liu Hua.

Liu Hua was particularly amazed at the sight of the contracted demonic beast—not because she had not seen one but because she had no idea it was possible to 'shelter' demonic beasts in spatial items.

Shandian then moved closer to Qai and turned around before it sat right beside Qai's legs.

Qai on the other hand started to communicate once again with his contracted demonic beast and instructed it to finally summon the two Silvermoon Apes at the same time.

And instantly a burst of smoke came out from his 'Chui Shi' towards the center of the courtyard and there appeared all of a sudden two huge apes of about seven feet tall.

The two demonic beasts with silvery body hair that stood barbaric with fierce look in their eyes were exuding with Heaven stage Expert realm aura.

"What kind of apes are those!?" Liu Hua asked her husband who stood beside her.

It was not that the Silvermoon Apes were like another mystical beast but that most of they're breed had been sealed in the Desolated Wasteland so it could be said that they were rarely seen.

"I think they're called Silvermoon Apes," Liu Hei replied. "But I never thought I would see one today.. or make that two."

The chief librarian who was much more experienced and knowledgeable of two made a quick guess.

The couple got closer to the apes and gazed at Qai with an expression as if asking for approval to touch the demonic beasts. Qai simply nodded and moved closer as well.

"I'm starting to really get curious how many demonic beasts you have in your plateau," Liu Hei remarked.

He then explained to his wife Qai's informal invitation for the two of them to settle with the Shu family in 'The Hunters' Plateau.'

"Ohh," Liu Hua remarked. "That wouldn't be a bad idea."

Qai carefully relayed that the Shu family had nothing much to offer but the serene atmosphere of the place far away from the notorious ways of arrogant cultivators.

He also made a revelation that Shu family was starting to build a clan—and that was why, as he explained, the Shu family was slowly gathering strong cultivators willing to join their cause.

"You will be given the freedom to do whatever you want," Qai explained. "You will have no responsibility to bear.. all you have to do is become part of 'The Hunters' Plateau' and become its so-called 'Protectors'."

The husband and wife looked at each other with a look that implies that Qai's proposal does not sound bad at all. That was because, in truth, the two of them had long retired from too much traveling in the gruesome cultivation world. Neither do they wanted to be shackled from a clan's or any organization's rigid rules and system--so Qai's 'free world' was like music to their ears.

After few moments of silence, Liu Hei seriously turned his face towards Qai who was surrounded by Shandian and two Silvermoon Apes.

"We would like to accept your invitation," he suddenly said. "However, it may take a while before we head to your plateau."

"Eh."

"We have an unfinished business to attend to."

What Liu Hei meant was the couple's long overdue grudge over the head of the Black Shadow Clan.

Qai clearly understood what the husband and wife wanted to do so he did not give any qualms about the delay. Besides, he himself was about to set off in his own adventure.

"Then how about I see the both of you after a year?"
