Chapter 32.2: Death Match

“Look at that beautiful man! He’s so beautiful he moves my very soul…..”

“He’s indeed very good looking. Although not more good looking than the Phoenix Empress like what the rumours say, but he does not lose out in anyway.”

“Her Highness the Crown Princess is also just as stunningly good looking. Seeing the two of them stand together makes them look like a match made in Heaven.”

Duanmu Xue and the others stood up from their chairs in shock when they saw Duanmu Xi appear.

“What’s going on? Why is Little Xi here? Why didn’t Phoenix Second and the others stop the Crown Princess?”

Duanmu Xue asked anxiously as she stared at Phoenix First.

“Your subordinate does not know.” Phoenix First immediately bowed and said.

Several black robed women then appeared around Duanmu Fei, all of them in a half kneel on the ground, looking like they had suffered some slight injuries.

“What happened? Didn’t I ask all of you to stop the Crown Princess? How is the Crown Princess still here at the Vermillion Bird Arena?”

“Your subordinate is incompetent. I beg for Your Highness’ forgiveness.”

All the black robed women had their heads lowered in remorse.

“That Young Master Xuanyuan was really just too strong, and your subordinate was really unable to stop him.”

Hearing that, Duanmu Fei waved her sleeve impatiently at them. “Good for nothing. Get out of my sight.”

“Yes.”

“My Imperial Sister, what does Young Master Xuanyuan mean by doing that? Isn’t he going to get Little Xi killed by doing that?” Duanmu Fei walked over beside Duanmu Xue and said in complaint.

Duanmu Xue’s brows creased up, her eyes fixed straight upon the Vermillion Bird Arena stage.

Up on the stage, Duanmu Xi was dressed in white as usual except that the clothes were more casual today. Xuanyuan Mo beside her was similarly dressed in his usual black, and the two of them looked highly compatible standing there together.

Seeing the two of them appear so suddenly, a red robed man in another private room on the second floor furrowed up his brows. [Who is this male and female couple? Why does he feel they were so highly familiar?]

Xuanyuan Mo planted a light kiss on Duanmu Xi’s forehead. Without saying a word, he then leapt and soared into the air to go into a private room upstairs.

When she saw that Xuanyuan Mo did not even cast his glance her way at all the entire time he came onto the stage till he left, Duanmu Qing fumed in anger but could not blow her top right there. She could do nothing but to turned her angry glare upon Duanmu Xi.

“Your Highness Crown Princess. You’re finally here. I had thought that you got cold feet and did not dare to come. Since you’re now here, let’s just begin”

“As you wish.”

Her voice was emotionless as before and it further infuriated Duanmu Qing. This indifferent and uncaring look of hers was what she hated the most.

The moment the duel began, Duanmu Qing immediately attacked Duanmu Xi with all her might.

Duanmu Xi did not strike but merely executed her “whirlwind steps” to dodge and evade, leading Duanmu Qing around in circles.
