Chapter 91 - 91 - Going Back

"Hm." The stranger hums as if he or she is considering Mi Young's words to be true or not. Then, after a few seconds, the cloaked stranger finally answers. "Well, you're intimidating. However, the way you dress right now is definitely not enough to make me fear you."

Although it was dark since it was already night time, Mi Young definitely knows that the stranger can see her reddened face. She remembered that her main goal today was to look for clothes to wear but she forgot all about it because she saw the purple book and then everything went to sh*t.

"I know I look scandalous right now, okay? But trust me when I say that if you betray me once or just lead me astray, I will definitely make sure that this is the last time you'll get to roam this city." The young girl says while giving the stranger another serious look.

The cloaked figure chuckled once more before giving Mi Young his or her hand. The black haired girl looked at it before asking, "What?"

"Do you not know anything about shaking hands?" The stranger asks. He (Mi Young finally assumed that the stranger was a boy considering how slender and long his fingers are) grabbed Mi Young's hands and held it against his'. After that, he gently shakes their hands together, as if doing a handshake. "That's how you do a handshake."

Mi Young, annoyed, pulls hers hands from the stranger's grip while giving him a glare, "I know what a handshake is, dumbass! I just don't want to touch your hands!"

The other party cocks his head to the side, as if he's confused with Mi Young's words. "Why not? My hands aren't dirty though."

"Don't you know anything about self-defense? You could have electrocuted me there or put a spell the moment our hands touched." Mi Young explains while giving the man a suspicious look.

This made the other party chuckle once more, "Well, I'm a friendly person. Plus, I'm not that dirty, okay? If I want to attack my opponent I will tell them first."

"Ohh..what a gentleman." Mi Young says with her famous sarcastic tone that usually gets to the other people's skin but somehow, it made the stranger laugh. Like a real laugh since his body was leaning forward and he was sort of palming his stomach like people usually do when they laugh so hard. "What's so funny?"

It took the man a couple of minutes before he answered Mi Young, "I don't know. I just find you funny."

"Should I thank you for that?" The young girl asks while giving the boy another dead look.

"Okay. Okay, fine. Let's go? It's getting colder and your only protection from the cold is your cape which is really not helping at all." The stranger says as if he is eyeing Mi Young's body.

"Stop looking at my body, you pervert!" The black haired girl shouts.

"I'm just concerned, okay! You look like you're ready to take a swim any minute now looking at your clothes. And it's really cold. I can even feel it even though I'm fully clothed." The boy says, sounding genuinely concerned. Now, Mi Young feels bad for shouting at him earlier. She wanted to apologize but she doesn't have the face to do so. "I wish I could do something but I don't have any spare cloaks and well…I'm not a Pyro Mage."

"What's a Pyro Mage got to do with the cold?" Mi Young asks.

The stranger scratches his head while answering the black haired girl's question. "Pyro Mages can create fire and make themselves warm."

This time, it was Mi Young's turn to laugh. The stranger looks quite shocked at first before he asks the young girl, "Now, you're laughing. Did I say something funny?"

The black haired girl shakes her head before she stops herself from laughing again. "So you mean Pyro Mages should just create fire and carry it with them when they walk around to keep themselves warm?"

"Yes." The boy answers with a grave voice. This caused Mi Young to laugh once more. "Why Are you laughing?"

"Can you imagine a person walking around with fire in his or her hand?" The black haired girl says in between laughter.

"And? That's normal." The stranger says without even missing a breath.

"Normal? Here? Seriously?" Mi Young asks, the curiosity evident in her voice.

"B-Before."

"Before what?"

"Just..let's just go." The stranger says before he starts walking back towards the alley where he came from. When he noticed Mi Young wasn't following him, he stopped and turned around. "What are you waiting for? I thought you wanted to get back to the heart of the city."

The young girl considers the man's offer for a moment before she answers. "Actually…"

"So, why do you want to go there?" The stranger asks while eyeing the black haired girl who was walking right beside him with a blank expression. "I mean, it's your first time here, how come you know about that place?"

"I wandered around earlier and accidentally went there." Mi Young lies. She throws a side glance at the man at first before she continues with her lies. "And then I was chased down by some guards, and I accidentally left my wallet there."

"Guards? Oh you mean the soldiers around there. Well, that's normal since that is the place where they train. You're new here so you might have not known that that place was off limits." The stranger explained while they continued walking towards the place where the hidden headquarters was located.

"Why is it off limits anyway?" Mi Young asks, feigning innocence even though she already knew why that place was private.

"I don't know. I think because they use it as their training grounds?" The other party guessed.

"'s that so?" Mi Young mumbles.

She felt the stranger's eyes on her but she ignored it, trying to act innocent.

They were both walking for almost thirty minutes now when the black haired girl suddenly hears the other party let out a sigh.

"What?" Mi Young questions. "Are we lost?"

"No." The stranger says. "We're almost there."

"Then why do you look so gloomy? I mean, I can't see your face but I can feel the melancholic emo vibes coming from you." The black haired girl says.

The boy sighs again before he completely stops walking, which made Mi Young stop walking as well. "You're cold."

The black haired girl blinks at him for a couple of seconds. It probably made the other party irritated because Mi Young was just staring at him, not saying anything at all. "What? Can't I be concerned?"

"Don't worry, I'm used to the cold." Mi Young says before she starts walking forward again. "Let's go."

"No. But really, even though you're 'used' to it, it's really cold here. Well, unless you're from the Northern part of the kingdom. The people there are immune to the cold, you know." The boy starts to argue as he walks along Mi Young's side.

Without missing a beat, Mi Young says nonchalantly. "I'm from the Northern part of the kingdom."

"What? Really? So you're a Hydro Mage?" There was amazement in the voice boy's which made the black haired girl look at him weirdly. The boy must have noticed Mi Young's expression so he asks, "What? What's with that face?"

"Have you not seen a Hydro Mage before?" Mi Young asks while still looking at the boy weirdly.

It took the other party a few seconds before he answered in a soft voice, "It's been years since I saw my friend who was a Hydro Mage. She also came from the Northern part of the kingdom. It just brings back memories, you know."

If Mi Young can see the boy's face, she knows the other party was smiling based on his tone when he answered her question. "Where is she now?"

The boy shrugs, "I don't know. We went our separate ways."

"Have you not left this city to go and visit your friend?"

The other party chuckles before he answers Mi Young, "If you think getting into this city is hard, leaving is even harder."

"Really? Why?" The black haired girl questions, suddenly intrigued.

"I mean, to normal people it's easy, especially those travellers. But to people like me, leaving is kind of hard to do." The stranger explains in a soft voice.

"People like you?" Mi Young questions, waiting for the other party's answer.

"Oh look! There it is!" However, she didn't get any reply because the next second the boy was already walking forward towards the place where the abandoned buildings were located.

Mi Young, since she didn't want to argue anymore, followed the man.

"So where did you leave your wallet?" The boy asks as they were approaching the zone where the Vice Captain said was being filmed by their spycams. Remembering this, Mi Young immediately halts. "What?"

"Is there a place here that we can use to enter the vicinity?"

"Uh…it's right in front of us?"

"No, I mean not here." Mi Young says.

"There is. But it's all the way back. It's on the other side of this village." The stranger says. "Why? Why are you avoiding the entrance?"

Mi  Young thinks for a second before she answers with another lie. "I remembered this isn't where I came in. I think you're right, I think it's on the back part. Let's go."

Without waiting for the stranger's response, Mi Young immediately walked off towards the road that led to the back part of the abandoned area.. The black haired girl just hopes the other party was buying her lies.
