The Unusual at Trost Academy

We walked. For 30 minutes. And I know, we just spent the past 3 hours walking. But that's still 30 more minutes. The campus was the size of a small town, with a layout almost as confusing. By the time we reached the area we were supposed to go for orientation, everyone was already seated, and someone was talking.

"So, with a graduation rate of 96%, we're hoping to raise that to 100% this year." Bill and I sat down in the back. "For your dorm placements, you will be given those at registration. Each dorm houses 4 people, so you will have to share your living space. It is completely randomized, as to not have any, unfavorable, groups of students. With that, you are dismissed, have a great year." Bill and I looked at each other.

"What now?" Bill asked, pulling a pair of red sunglasses out of his pocket and put them on. I shrugged, "I guess we get to registration and go to our dorms."

When we got to registration, there was a line. Like, a big line. Bill glared at the mass of people in front of us "Well, great. I guess we wait." We waited for 25 minutes, until we managed to reach the front desk. The lady sitting at the desk looked at me with a look that said 'I don't want to be here and I await the sweet release of death'.

"Name, Species, and Age."

"Jamie Charleston, Angel, 15." She wrote something down, and looked at me again, "Is this your first year?" I nodded, and she handed me a piece of paper. "That's all. NEXT!" I tapped Bill on the shoulder, "I'll meet you at the entrance." He nodded, and I walked off. When Bill got outside, he looked at a piece of paper.

"What dorm do you have?" I pulled out my paper, "1-A room 36."

"Nice. I'm there too."

We spent another 20 minutes looking for dorm hall 1-A. When we finally reached it, it was, underwhelming. It was a medium-sized building, that looked like it could fit at most 40 rooms, not including halls, showers, and a main plaza. We walked in, and, it was nowhere in as bad condition as the outside. The main plaza had tables, couches, a TV, and an entertainment system with an Xbox, Playstation, and Switch. We continued to walk. Each hallway seemed longer than the building itself. After awhile, we finally managed to reach our room.

When we opened the door, we were greeted by a little girl who looked to be no younger than 13, "I'm guessing you two are the remaining parasites?" Bill poked his head from behind me, "No, we're the other people in this dorm." The little girl rolled her eyes, "You know what I mean. I'm in the middle of something, so put your stuff in here quickly and leave." I glared at her,

"And we should listen to you because?"

"Because I'm more experienced than anyone else at this school. And before either of you bluff about being more experienced than me, I know you aren't because you two were 10 minutes late to orientation."

"How did you know that was-"

"I have my sources." I sighed, "Fine, we'll put our stuff in here and leave. But you better be done my 3:00, because I need to rest." I put my bag on one of the beds, and Bill put his on the one next to mine.
