Facts proved that Song Tingshen was just skilled enough to be considered an all-around good man.

As Ruan Xia ate his beef stir-fry, she was a bit disgruntled. "How come your cooking is better than mine? So unfair."

Even if he had gone through hard times before, he hadn't cooked for many years. That his knife skills were better than hers could be considered as him being uncommonly gifted. But, why was his cooking better than hers? The confidence that she had finally built up was shattered into pieces.

Song Tingshen was quite satisfied by her unconventional compliment. He added a piece of meat to her bowl and said, "Isn't that a good thing? If I lose my job one day, I might be able to get a job as a cook."

Song Tingshen knew that he was being a bit bad lately. He clearly knew what Ruan Xia was worried about, but he couldn't help wanting to tease her. It was so fun watching the change in her expressions. En, this wasn't good. He should reflect on himself.

At the mention of unemployment, Ruan Xia lost her appetite. She sighed and said, "If you want to be a cook, I'll support you. If you lose your job, I have money on hand. I'll support you in whatever business you want to do."

Alright, he seemed to have gone too far with his joking. And yet, he felt very comfortable when he heard these words. In this world, there would be many people that would give benefits to those that were already well off, but there were few people that would help out those in their hour of need. There were many people that can share in happiness, but few that would share in suffering.

Thinking about it carefully, he had been wrong in his perception of Ruan Xia before. He thought that Ruan Xia had schemed against him and married him for his money and the life that he could give her. Of course, what happened in the past was no longer important. It was the present and future that was important.

Song Tingshen raised his head to look at her. His eyes were full of smiles. "Then I'll thank you in advance."

Ruan Xia had been concerned about the plot to begin with. Due to Song Tingshen saying plenty of things along that line today, she determined that Song Corporation really was going bankrupt just like in the novel's plot. Fortunately, she had prepared for the worst from the start, so she wasn't too upset now.

She was more worried about Song Tingshen's mental state than losing her current quality of life. He was actually very proud. Could he really accept his company going bankrupt? He seemed fine right now, but she didn't know if his smiles were real. Was his relaxed posture real?

The only thing she could do was stand by his side to support him no matter how bad their situation became. She would even rush in front of him to protect him if needed.

Thinking of this, Ruan Xia once again comforted him. "Why are you thanking me? A couple should stick together in hard times."

Although there was a saying that a married couple were like birds in a forest that would fly apart in the face of looming disaster, that was only true for a plastic couple. She and Song Tingshen used to be a plastic couple, but that was no longer true.

After they finished eating, Song Tingshen cleared the table. It wasn't even 1 PM when he urged Ruan Xia upstairs to rest. He rolled up his sleeves to prepare to clean.

Ruan Xia refused to agree and insisted on cleaning with him. She asserted, "It'll be faster with two people cleaning. We can rest together once we're done cleaning."

As the saying goes, many hands make light work.

It was just that their house was too big. Cleaning it would definitely take a few hours.  Wearing gloves and with her hands on her hips, Ruan Xia sighed. "Let's move to a smaller house in the future. For a family of three, two bedrooms is enough. It'll be easier to clean too."
