#966 - Wand Testing Ceremony

Fortunately, the two masters did not end up arguing, stopping only at discussing their different wand philosophies.

Ollivander valued the connection between the wand and the wizard, believing that there were no 'weak' wands, only unsuitable ones.

Gregorovitch pursued the practicality of wands, believing that excellent wands should have excellent performance, and any fancy design was unnecessary.

Vincent quietly retreated behind the two and came to Dumbledore, "Professor, I have installed all the equipment. I should go back to class now."

"Wait," Dumbledore hesitated. "Vincent, I think you'd better stay a little longer, so that if there are any problems with the equipment, you don't have to run back and forth."

Well, providing the equipment also requires after-sales service. Might as well edit the promotional video.

Vincent looked reluctant. "Professor Dumbledore, can pressing a button also cause problems?"

"Ludo and Barty are operating it for the first time, and some minor problems are inevitable."

That's right, after all, they haven't even figured out the simplest equipment installation. These two directors may have even stranger problems.

"Okay," Vincent spread his hands. "I should have asked the Ministry of Magic for some rental fees. That way, they would definitely memorize the entire instruction manual as quickly as possible."

Dumbledore was speechless.

Bagman said one second that he had memorized it, and the next second he continued to stare blankly at the recording equipment.

If there was a rental fee, he would at least carry the instruction manual with him.

"Heh-" Draco sneered, his face full of disdain.

Perhaps in his eyes, asking the Ministry of Magic for rental fees would not succeed at all, and this was just bragging.

Vincent gave him a meaningful look, then walked to the equipment and waited quietly.

Soon, Merowen returned and joined the normal academic exchange between the two masters.

His philosophy focuses more on the appearance and comfort of the wand. A good wand should first and foremost be loved by wizards, and performance and stability are secondary.

The three major European wandmakers gathered at Hogwarts, and Vincent immediately perked up.

The British Ministry of Magic can at most invite Ollivander from their own country. Fudge himself probably couldn't invite the remaining two masters even if he personally went out.

Then, Merowen and Gregorovitch could only have been invited by Madam Maxime and Karkaroff.

That's right, there had already been an accident during the Triwizard Tournament's selection of champions, and the British Ministry of Magic couldn't be relied upon. Beauxbatons and Durmstrang had to find their own ways to avoid another accident.

When Vincent thought of this, Madam Maxime and Karkaroff led their respective school's champions into the classroom one after another.

Now only Bagman and Barty are missing.

They've been in the bathroom for too long. Karkaroff and Krum, sitting on the chairs by the door, were already getting impatient.

"Dumbledore, did they fall into the toilet?"

"Professor Karkaroff, please wait a moment. I'll go outside and take a look."

Dumbledore walked out of the classroom and saw Bagman jogging over.

"Sorry, Barty and I got lost."

Old Barty walked slowly from behind with a blank expression, looking like he was in a bad mood, probably because he felt ashamed.

Bagman smiled and pulled Dumbledore into the classroom.

"Everyone is here, then we won't waste time. Let's do the wand examination first, and then interview the champions individually!"

One should not hit a smiling face, and Karkaroff could only swallow his resentment no matter how great it was.

The three wandmakers finished their exchange and quietly watched the five judges walk to the five chairs behind the long table.

When Old Barty saw Vincent next to the recording equipment, his face instantly became extremely ugly.

First, he couldn't figure out the equipment, then he got lost on a trip to the bathroom, and then the equipment's manufacturer hadn't left yet, which clearly meant that he didn't trust him and Bagman and was worried that something would happen again.

Bagman's face was also not very good, but he quickly smiled at Vincent, "Mr. Wayne, thank you for your hard work."

Vincent returned a polite smile, "Not hard, this is all I should do."

Bagman nodded awkwardly, then turned and sat on the rightmost chair.

Dumbledore, sitting in the middle, cleared his throat, "Please allow me to introduce the three gentlemen responsible for examining the wands."

He raised his hand to each of the three wandmakers, "They are Mr. Ollivander, Mr. Merowen, and Mr. Gregorovitch."

Then, he turned to look at the champions sitting on the chairs by the door, "These three will examine your wands to ensure that they are in good condition before the competition."

The three masters came to the open space in the center of the classroom. After whispering a few words, Ollivander's silvery-white eyes looked at the champions, "Miss Delacour, would you like to go first, please?"

Fleur smiled and stood up, walking lightly to the three masters and handing over her wand.

Merowen looked at Ollivander taking her wand carefully with a smug look.

Gregorovitch on the side seemed a little listless. This beautifully shaped wand didn't seem to arouse his interest.

Ollivander showed great curiosity, rotating the wand between his slender fingers like he was manipulating a baton, causing the tip of the wand to spray out many pink and gold sparks.

Then, he put the wand to his eyes and examined it carefully, "A very good wand, the weight balance between the handle and the tip is very good."

He slowly rotated the wand to better show the exquisite patterns on the wand, "Nice, nine and a half inches… medium flexibility… made of ebony… contains… oh, my goodness!"

Merowen straightened his chest unconsciously, "Contains a Veela hair, it's Miss Delacour's grandmother's hair."

"What?" Gregorovitch's eyes widened, "Veela hair, such a sensitive and capricious material, can also be used to make wands?"

He snatched the wand from Ollivander's hand, his gleaming eyes seeming to want to see through it completely.

"Unbelievable… this is not a wand that can be easily controlled!"

Gregorovitch held the wand with fascination, waving it gently a few times to test the feel.

"Orchideous-" He whispered the spell, and a bright orchid bloomed on the tip of the wand.

He turned to look at the proud Merowen, "I take back what I said just now, Master Merowen, the appearance and comfort of the wand are indeed points that wandmakers need to seriously consider."

Unless there are special circumstances, wands usually accompany wizards for life.

Although wands with high appearance and good feel cannot bring about an increase in combat power, they will make wizards feel happy, thereby bringing about implicit improvements in all aspects.

Merowen waved his hand with a smile, "Master Gregorovitch, in fact, none of our ideas are wrong, but there is no perfect wand in the world. No matter how hard we try, we can only infinitely approach this goal."

Ollivander nodded in agreement.

Gregorovitch gathered the flowers on the tip of the wand and handed it back to Fleur, "Miss Delacour, you have a high degree of compatibility with it. I look forward to your wonderful performance."

Fleur smiled sweetly, "Thank you, Mr. Gregorovitch."

She took the wand and walked back lightly.
