Chapter 6: I Won’t Marry Anyone Else

“Yesterday, Mr. Yang, the CEO of Shengtian Real Estate, talked to me. He said there’s a girl in his family who is around our age and wants us to get to know each other. He suggested that we should date and see if it works out for marriage.”

At that moment, Zhou Mushi almost spit out the food he was eating. He quickly wiped the sauce off the corner of his mouth with a tissue and drank some water.

If it were someone else, they might have flipped the table and smashed all the dishes and cups on Jin Yang’s face, but Zhou Mushi was from such a family. Although he was still young and had not yet taken charge of his family’s business, he understood the importance of business alliances.

People who work in the business world all work hard, and if you want to take a shortcut or avoid making mistakes, business alliances are the best choice. It’s like his parents, his brother and sister-in-law, and his sister and brother-in-law.

Although the Zhou family’s wealth was not only worth millions, it had already blended into the upper-middle class of society. Zhou Mushi knew how hard Jin Yang had worked to get where he was now. He had no parents or siblings to rely on and had started from scratch. It was much harder than the Zhou family’s struggles.

Jin Yang had only been in college for two years, and it had only been five years since then. He had gone from having negative assets to being worth several million. For a poor boy like him, the road to success was very difficult.

“Is Yang Ge going to keep me outside?” he muttered quietly.

“What did you say?” Jin Yang asked.

“It’s nothing, nothing. I just said this beef stew is really good. It’s much better than the half-cooked stuff they serve in Western restaurants.”

Jin Yang reached out and held his hand. “Mushi, what are you afraid of?”

Zhou Mushi struggled to restrain his slightly trembling hand, but at that time he was still inexperienced, and he really hadn’t learned much about pretending. “I’m not afraid, I’m not afraid of anything,” he said as calmly as possible.

Jin Yang frowned, took his hand and brought it to his lips, and kissed his hand back reverently, saying, “Relax, for you, I won’t marry anyone else.”

He didn’t know how much determination Jin Yang had when he said those words. Jin Yang was always a man of his word, and now that he said he wouldn’t marry, he definitely wouldn’t marry anyone else.

Jin Yang smiled and said, “All roads lead to Rome. If this one doesn’t work, we’ll find another one.”

Zhou Mushi was happy that Jin Yang could do this for him, but there was also more regret in his heart.

Jin Yang continued, “So, I wanted to discuss with you. I made an appointment with several CEOs from other companies. Originally, we were supposed to meet outside, but to show our closeness, I had to bring them to our home.”

Zhou Mushi was stunned and his muscles tightened involuntarily. He had some social anxiety, and in his own perception, the house was the most private place where outsiders couldn’t touch.

But Jin Yang has already done so much for him, and he really can’t turn him down.

“It’s okay,” he said.

Jin Yang caressed his hand and said in a gentle voice, “Don’t worry, if you don’t want to see them, you don’t have to. You can just close the door or go out for a trip.”

Zhou Mushi nodded and comforted himself that he should learn to adapt. After all, he originally wanted to help Jin Yang after graduation.
