Chapter 166 - World 7.15

William quickly slammed the door closed and removed his shoes the moment he reached home. After putting his things on the bed, he decided to take a quick warm shower. Not like usual,he was very quiet this time.

AUTHOR: Is something bothering you?

{No, Are you comforting me?}

AUTHOR: I'm not!

{Then don't ask, I don't need your mockery right now}

William opened the shower and soaked himself into the warm water that touches his skin. He lowered his head and traced the flowing water down to the white tiled-floor. The surroundings were very quiet, you could only hear the splashing sound of the shower. William was a little bit restless,from earlier until he came home, he still did not receive a text from Asher.

He exited the bathroom with an anxious face, dried his hair up and slumped his body on the bed. He rolled into the corner then hugged the pillow. "I wonder what he was doing right now"

He sat up and took the phone from his table, hoping that he would see something, but when he clicked on the screen; the notifications were empty.

He checked it again by scanning his phone thoroughly, but there were really no texts or calls. William didn't take long to think, he pressed the call button. It was a little bit longer before the connection reached the other phone.

'Sorry, the subscriber you are calling is unknown'

William was surprised after hearing the mechanical voice's feedback. "What's wrong?" he asked himself. He then dialed the number and called again but he received the same answer over and over again. William started to feel annoyed and restless. "Did he block me? I can't reach him…" he mumbled in dismay

He went back and lay down, burying his body under the blanket. He was the one who took Asher to the School Clinic that day, he was the one who watched over the man while he was unconscious. He's not demanding anything but at least Asher can chat him a small thanks if he had woken up, or did the male's bodyguards didn't tell him that he's the one who helped him? William couldn't think anymore, there were so many negative things running inside his head. He didn't want to overthink and he didn't want Asher to feel that way.

William was in the middle of doubts when Daniel's question struck him again, Is he a friend to Asher? Did Asher think of him as his friend? What will Asher do if he's the one in that situation? Did Asher forget him after getting a fever? Is his condition severe? Is he okay? Is he at the hospital right now?

William had so many thoughts, if Asher was in the hospital he wanted to visit him. He wanted to know what's happening, Isn't it a bit too much to ask?

"I don't know anymore…" William whispered under his breath

***

He strided the pathway, not knowing where his legs were taking him, he just wanted to be alone right now. If he knew this would happen, he would not have just run away from their house.

Asher was full of determination to see William, he wanted to thank and talk to the male but who would have thought that he'll receive the same treatment again. Asher knew that he wasn't good at communicating and expressing himself in front of other people but he never fake his care for someone. William was different from others, although he had doubts about him at first, all of it quickly vanished away when the male opened up to him that night when they got drunk.

CLANG!

The glass door opened, Asher stepped inside the place. The familiar scent invaded his nostrils, while the different lights blinded him for a second. The area was already crowded and noisy, as usual there were lots of people.

Asher headed straight to the counter, one of the bartenders welcomed him with a smile. "Mr. Dawson! It's you!" he exclaimed after recognizing the male "It's been a while, nice to see you again!" Of course he quickly made the best mixer for Asher, he already knew the omega's favorite but when he was about to serve it, Asher stopped him and said. "I want the stronger one"

The bartender quickly nodded his head and served what the male ordered. There are also other omegas and alphas sitting on the same counter with him, he wasn't bothered by them because he just wanted to be alone. Asher chugged the glass of mixed whisky and ordered another one.

He tugged the hood up to cover his face, he can't deny that he was quite popular in this place. He came here to overcome his own self not to enjoy. Asher then slowly felt his fever going back again, he gritted his teeth in annoyance because he still can't forget what William said.

He was contemplating everything by himself this time. There was a side of him that wanted to grasp William so hard until he broke him in. This feeling started to overtake him and made him a little bit anxious. Asher stood up and quickly slipped out his credit card from his pockets and asked the bartender to take his bills.

The door once again clang opened, spitting Asher out. He pulled his jacket more towards his chest and trudged the quiet cold road. He literally didn't know where he was going, but it seemed like his legs were dragging him towards one place.

Asher then found himself in front of an apartment building, with six doors he was standing in front of the 3rd door. His heart started to feel uneasy again, he stopped it by clenching his chest. If there will be a time, this is it now.

Asher then lifted up his hand and made a knock. He was starting to feel dizzy and uncomfortable. The tension started to overtake his body,maybe it was because he was drunk and cold. He waited there,patiently.

Until the door slowly opened and showed a familiar face with worried and startled eyes. "A-Asher?!" the male exclaimed in surprise, he quickly tapped Asher's forehead "Are you okay?! Why are you out at this late night?" William asked

Asher once again felt the warmth from his palm, he didn't answer immediately.. He pulled the male inside and slammed the door closed.
