Transmigrated Into The Book

"Did you find something?" Sun Wei, who just got back from his patrol, asked, the male beside him shakes his head. "No one here knew that old woman," Qi Zhou replied.

Sun Wei brushed his face from dismay. "I wonder if the two find any evidence or if they even progress," he said, referring to Xianyu and Yuan.

"This sh*tty information is killing me, let's rest for a while." Qi Zhou suggested that both of them took the same pathway. They have decided to find a small eatery to eat their dinner, then after that they will go and meet the two males. 

In the middle of their stroll, they saw a bunch of people grouping in a dark alley. Their voices and tone are saying that they are doing something bad. When Sun Wei was about to step in, Qi Zhou blocked him with his arms. "Stay still," he uttered. 

Sun Wei rolled his eyes, then he snorted, "What is wrong with you,?!" 

The two paused, then they tried to watch the group of people doing their bad things. To their surprise, there was another man in the middle of them. He was the one receiving a beating. This time, Qi Zhou didn't hold back anymore. A purple light flickered around his fingers, then he shot it straight at the group of people. 

The group of people was surprised and startled, their faces turning aghast. One by one, they ran away. 

Sun Wei dashed towards the man sitting on the ground with bruises all over his body, "Are you alright?" he asked.

The man gripped Sun Wei's sleeves and mumbled, "Please don't worry, I am fine.." he winced before coughing blood. It made him more pitiful in front of the male's eyes, so Sun Wei held him and supported him. 

"What happened to him? Is he okay?" Qi Zhou went back to them. He checked the beaten man and asked Sun Wei to help him carry him. They took him to the Inn with them. At first they did all the first aid to him. 

"Don't touch me, please don't touch me," the man protested when Sun Wei was about to put something on his wounds. "Let me do it," he said.

Although dumbfounded, Sun Wei let him be. "Okay please don't panic." he said. He watched the man wipe his own wounds and, according to his observation, this man wasn't old enough. He had a perfectly built body and tanned skin. His long hair was a mess, but he can clearly tell that he had a fine face.

Qi Zhou was also watching him from afar and the more intrigued he was his eye patch. The man was wearing an eyepatch on his left eye.

When the man finished cleaning himself, Sun Wei helped him put the basin of water away. "Don't overwork yourself too much. We can help you," he stated, which made the man glance at him.

Qi Zhou stepped between them, blank face. "We have a healer friend, so please stay with us for the meantime until you completely recover," he said, taking the basin of water from Sun Wei.

"What took you so long?" Sun Wei's brows meet in the middle of his nose while looking at the two males in front of him.

Xianyu was catching his breath while supporting Yuan, who was clinging to his shoulders. He was still drunk. "I-I'm s-sorry, he is so h-heavy," he said.

They all agreed to meet at the same Inn, Sun Wei walked towards them, then he carried Yuan instead. "I told you to look after this moron," he scolded Xianyu as he walked forward. 

"Excuse me, I'm not his babysitter!,"

When they headed inside, Qi Zhou greeted them at the entrance of the room. Xianyu heard him whisper something to Sun Wei. It must be a question about Yuan's state because he saw Sun Wei make a disappointed expression. 

Xianyu paused at the door. "Qi Zhou…" he called out. "Can I talk to you outside?" he asked.

Qi Zhou glanced at Sun Wei first, signaling him to take care of the two first because he and Xianyu will talk outside. The male nodded back at him.

The two headed outside, just in front of the Inn. Since it was already night, Xianyu thought that there were no other people there except for the two of them.

"Do you have any leads?" This time, Qi Zhou was the first one who asked. The wind blew gently, making the signage of the Inn swayed with the wind while the clouds covered half of the moon. 

"I guess he was a healer too," Xianyu replied. 

Qi Zhou, who was leaning on the wall, glanced at him. "He?" he asked with an astonished face.

"Yes, me and Yuan got lucky today. We traced where the old woman was.." he stated. "But our expectations didn't reach her because she also didn't know about the red pill and its effects"

Qi Zhou cupped his own chin, "So you are saying that she's doing it without even knowing what will happen?" he asked.

Xianyu sprang from his stance. "Don't blame her! She's innocent! She was just doing it because of her grandson" his eyes became pitiful, which convinced the other male.

Qi Zhou saw that expression, he assured Xianyu by tapping his back. "Don't worry, it's now what you think it is..that old woman was a victim too.. let's head inside and discuss this with Sun Wei and Yuan.." he paused. "We also have a visitor. You need to see him. He was quite weird with an eye patch, but he said that he wanted to meet you,"

Xianyu didn't know, but when he heard the last words, shivers started to sting in his system. It echoed in his ears and before he could make a step, Qi Zhou was already gone. He brushed his face. "What am I even thinking?" he mumbled to himself.

Before he could even take a step, a forceful grab stopped him. His back slammed into the wall. Xianyu slid down, wincing in pain. A shadow crouched down in front of him, that's the last scene he saw before falling into deep slumber.
