Chapter 288 - World 10.26

In the middle of hundreds of soldiers behind his back, he was standing in front. His eyes were filled with determination and pride. He took a step and swayed his weapon. His fist glowed red as a crackle of light flickered around his fist.

He adjusted his stance, ready to charge, but when he opened his mouth, no words came out. It made him stunned as he asked himself what happened. He looked behind him and saw no one. The hundred soldiers watching his back were all gone.

Suddenly, the place that was once a mountain turns to fire and screams. There are people crying and shouting for help. The buzzing sounds echoed inside his ears, which caused him to panic and break. He slid down with his knees, still grabbing his head.

While his head was facing the ground, he saw a red substance dripping down from his hands. Although trembling, he managed to check his palm, and it shocked him by what he saw. There is blood on his hands, fresh blood he doesn't know where he gets.

"Come back,"

A sweet voice suddenly hit his ears. He raised his head, then the scenery changed. He was now in the field of yellow dandelions under the thin fog surrounding him. Right in front of his eyes was a kid with a bitter smile.

"Who are you?" He covered his mouth in surprise when he realized that his voice finally came back.

The child sitting on the field glanced and smiled at him. "You came here because you seek power, yes?" After saying that, the kid opened his palm and a white light emerged from it.

The kid stunned him, but what more intrigued him was the thing that white light assembled. It was a book, flipping pages on its own. "A soul for a soul," the kid said.

"Yuan?"

"Yuan?!"

The male sleeping under the tree reached his arms in the air and opened his eyes. The sweats from his forehead gently dropped as it touched his cheeks down.

"Geez!! You sleep like a log!" He saw Sun Wei leaning on his face. He must be checking him. "You kept on grunting so I thought you were having a nightmare," Sun Wei said as he crossed his arms.

Dumbfounded and still half asleep, Yuan sat up. "Where are we?" he asked.

Qi Zhou walked towards them. "You got sh*t in your head? We have been following that eye patch man's footprints since yesterday," he squinted his eyes "Are you still sleeping?"

Yuan scratched the back of his head and lightly chuckled. He then recalled that after that kidnapping scene, they had decided to follow the footprints. Sun Wei used his ability to track the erased prints on the muddy ground.

Sun Wei brushed his face. "That kid is really hopeless," he was referring to Xianyu. They were told to take care of him and yet the kid was quickly taken away from them. "But why did they want Xianyu?" He mumbled to himself.

"Maybe it's because they are both healers," Qi Zhou stated as he heard the male's soft whisper. He glanced at the other male. "Yuan told us that he had both the red and blue pill, right?" He reminded them.

Yuan indeed explained everything to them. About the red and the blue pill, but what intrigued him more was the ability of the two. "What if the blue pill was the opposite effect of the red pill, will it remove the curse?" Yuan fell silent as he was brainstorming by himself.

If the server was not blabbing some jokes and the blue pill indeed healed the customer in convulsion, then what's the real deal of the eye patch, man?

An idea hit his head that made him cover his mouth. "Could it be?"

"Hey! Yuan?" Qi Zhou snapped his fingers, Yuan jolted from his seat, "Y-Yes?!" He blurted out.

Sun Wei rolled his eyes. "Excuse me? You kept on spacing out. Are you still sleeping?" He scolded as he poked Yuan in the cheeks.

"I was thinking"

"Thinking of what?!" the two exclaimed in unison, then they glared at each other for saying the same thing.

Sun Wei glared at Qi Zhou. "Excuse me? I was the first one to ask him!" He snorted and rolled his eyes.

Qi Zhou averted his gaze with a snort. "I am the first one," he protested.

Sun Wei stepped forward, "Well, I don't care! Just shut up while I'm talking!"

The other male released a 'hump' sound. "I don't care what you're going to say. Mine is more important," he said sarcastically.

"G-Guys?... uhh.." Yuan chuckles as he realizes that the two aren't paying attention to what he was going to answer anymore. He instead tried to stop them, but it also stopped him when a sting struck his right eye followed by a jolt of pain that made him clenched his other eye.

Yuan winced in pain and tried to lower his gaze on the grass. "Argh!" He grunted as he felt his other side being squeezed.

"Yuan!!" Sun Wei was the first one to rush to help him, but when the male touched his shoulders, a crimson light flickered around him. It caused Qi Zhou, who was going to approach him, to back away.

"What is happening to you?!" Sun Wei asked when he felt the soreness in his hands.

Yuan grunted once more. This time, he was trying to calm himself because he didn't want to cause trouble. "Not right now," he said as he grasped his eye more to resist the stinging pain.

"What is happening to him?" Qi Zhou asked the male beside him, who was also surprised. He was thinking that maybe Yuan needed to cultivate and meditate more to balance his Qi energy. They have already gone too far and there are no houses or other people here in case they need help.

He approaches Yuan and crouches down. Just right in time, the male gazes at him while covering his other eye and in Qi Zhou's surprise, the little space from his fingers reveals his crimson, fiery eye.

Qi Zhou backed away, his fingers trembling as he mumbles. "That eye...could it be?"
