Then, under Xingmo's gaze, the eyes on the moon narrowed slightly towards her——

——It has no face, but Xingmo can feel that it is a smile.

"..."

Xing Mo felt as if the world before her eyes was shattered. She fell face down on the terrace floor, falling into the endless darkness.

In the deep darkness, broken golden stars flickered repeatedly.

Hanging Gardens - New Galo - Machiavelli's Empire

The young man in a black robe slowly climbed the stairs, escorted by the "Immortals".

Although they were escorting him, those wearing jackal masks always kept half a step away from him, as if they were afraid of him.

"..."

On the highest steps of the Hanging Gardens, the "Golden King" Ugaen Tukakankion, wearing a golden bird mask, stood up from his throne and accepted the scepter handed to him by a maid dressed in exotic clothes.

He watched the pair of ice-blue vertical pupils rise from the end of the stairs - the broken body that came here from "Motiheim" finally escaped from the black pool after so many days and nights and was reborn.

"Everyone, retreat." The Golden King Ugaon ordered in a hoarse voice.

The guards and maids all obeyed his orders and left down the stairs.

Soon, there were only two people left on the highest steps of the entire New Garo.

"Lucius Phillips' greatest contribution in summoning the 'Invisible Mist' was providing the medium for your rebirth..."

Looking at the boy's vertical pupils, Ugaen said calmly:

"Now, how does it feel to be reborn?"

The young man remained silent, his gaze passing the Golden King and looking towards the throne behind him.

"Are you here to hand over the throne to me?" the boy hissed.

Ugaen was not offended by such words. He took two steps back and sat down on the throne carved out of pure gold. There seemed to be gravel flowing in the golden eyes behind the golden mask.

The young man seemed offended by the king's silence. Just as the light in his eyes shone again, the darkness beside him shattered, and a hand stretched out:

"Stop."

The boy suddenly looked at the hand - it was a girl's hand, slender and white, like a work of art carved out of marble.

"It's you..." The boy's pupils flickered.

"You have some residual impression of me, which is better than we expected," the girl whispered in the darkness. "So, can you see the 'moon'?"

Hearing this, the young man turned his head in a daze and looked at the starry sky dotted with golden stars.

He blinked, and a crimson sky filled with crimson, with a red full moon twinkling in the sky.

Seeing the moon, endless hatred seemed to flow out of his eyes:

"The red moon still hangs high."

"After the Age of Gods, He has continued to grow," Ugaan said in a hoarse voice, "but the time has come."

"Tear the starry sky?" The boy frowned under his hood.

"No, this is the perfect environment," Cain muttered in the darkness. "Thanks to Ugaan's efforts, all the conditions have come together... With just a simple manipulation, we will obtain the 'Shepherd's String'."

The girl's last four words seemed to make the boy's pupils tremble slightly. He lowered his head, looked at his white hands, and suddenly clenched into a fist.

"Alright!" The young man looked up and clapped his hands, "Mortal, don't let me down again!"

Ugaen let out a low laugh and swung his scepter, making a "bang bang" sound on the ground.

"Welcome back to the Court of Redemption," Ugaan said. "Now, what should we call you?"

"If I remember correctly, her name is Xingmo?" the boy asked.

Ugaan nodded.

After receiving a positive answer, the boy's body trembled slightly.

The trembling soon turned into laughter—almost insane laughter:

"Hahahaha, great! Xingmo, what a nice name!"

He pulled down his hood, exposing his face to the crimson glow—black hair, green eyes, cheeks as bony as if carved by a knife, with some traces of dragon-like features, making his face, which was still a teenager, look a little haggard.

"Call me Yuechen."

As the boy spoke, the green in his eyes shone like emerald in the moonlight.

The green was a combination of gold and blue, but now it was filled with the crimson full moon, making it look as hideous as if it were engorged with blood.

A scorching wind blew from the distant desert, carrying the loud singing of nomads, and blew into the streets and alleys of the oasis city.

The wind covered up the boy's laughter, but it will eventually carry it to every corner of the world.

Volume 1 "The Tree of Life" is finished.

......

Volume 1 is finished.

Wow, that’s fast.

It felt like it happened in a flash, and when I came to my senses, I found that I had actually finished writing Volume 1!

A volume of 39 words! I'll finish it!

Looking back at the time when I was a freshman, I had a hard time writing a structure of more than 20 words. Now, even 39 words can be written casually. I really sigh at my own growth.

Mo Ying'er is still getting stronger.

According to the convention that old readers know, there is usually a summary at the end of the volume. Look, here it is. I couldn’t sleep in the middle of the night, so I wrote this.

But it's not necessarily a serious summary, it might just be a casual chat, um... if you don't want to read it, you can skip it!

Well, then...

#How would you rate the first volume of "The Defeated Saint Is Also on the Road to Taming the Evil God Today"/"Shepherd's Star Strings" - "The Tree of Life"?

First, let's talk about something I haven't discussed before: performance. Well, the performance of this book after it was published isn't exactly great; it's at best "okay," "barely manageable," or something like that. But honestly, if I can maintain this performance, I should be able to finish this book without any problems.

The final volume is expected to be around 200-300 million words, hmm.

Every reader who follows the updates is an angel. You know, from the author's perspective on the product, data is the only factor that determines whether a book should be continued. If the subscription rate drops suddenly, it is basically equivalent to sentencing a book to death. It will either be discontinued directly or completed faster.

I am really grateful to everyone who is following my reading. Of course, I am also very grateful to the readers who keep reading and subscribe every day. I am really touched that they are willing to do this for me.

I always feel that I am a person with a lot of flaws. I am the kind of... You say that I am the kind of literary author who doesn't care about fame and fortune. I seem to be indeed. After all, I spent two years writing a book with an initial order of 100. I wrote more than two million words with a monthly salary of a few hundred yuan just to finish the story in my heart.

But if you say that I really don't care about fame and fortune, that's complete nonsense. After I started writing a new book, I found that I really care more about data and royalties than before. Data fluctuations can easily cause subtle changes in my mood, as if I can't write without the data.

When it comes to financial gain, your mentality will really change.

Not to mention that I'm also a bit of a moody person... When I'm calm, I'm really calm and speak softly. But when something gets on my nerves, or I'm having a hard time, I can't help but be outspoken.

Sometimes I don’t like myself and think that it must be very troublesome to get along with me.

So I really want to thank all the book friends who have been encouraging me. I feel unworthy and have no way to repay them. Anyway, I will work harder to write this book.

Well, if there's a chance, I'll take you to superstrings, for sure. (Eyes evasive)

I've said too much useless things. It's so hypocritical. I won't talk about this anymore.

Then let’s talk about this story. Volume 1 is actually a story I conceived a long time ago. At that time, I was so excited that I thought, “I have to write a fantasy story too.” Then I just came up with a plan and threw it into the memo.

So, after finishing writing Little White Flower, I started writing a book right away.

The original idea of this book was to severely break my comfort zone - as an author who has no idea how to write about daily life, my skills in this area are basically blank, so it is indeed a challenge.

Well, so I prepared a fairly challenging story structure: the main and subplots go hand in hand, the daily main plot is intertwined, and finally a big reversal is used to string together all the clues and rationalize all the motives.

If you look at the surface of the story, you can't detect these. After all, the workload of the hidden line is very large, just like a living person, who is so simple on the surface, but every move involves different muscles and nerve tissues. Any problem in any link may lead to a complete collapse.

Similar works include "Lord of Mysteries", but Squid's story is relatively straightforward and there are no big twists, which is not right for my XP who likes to stir up trouble, so after dismantling the structure of the first volume of Mysteries, I thought about it for a while, and then made some adjustments to the main line structure that I am best at, and finally got the volume "Tree of Life".

I was quite cautious in writing. With my efficiency, earning 10,000 yuan a day during a long holiday like National Day is no problem, but I couldn't handle 6000 yuan a day for the final plot. I used my brain too much and my eyes too much. I got a stye in each eye within a month, and the overactive brain caused insomnia to relapse... For example, now, it's 3:30 in the morning and I can't sleep.

He was already sickly, and now he's even sicker.

But I'm really happy. The final presentation of this volume is pretty good based on everyone's feedback. I think it's pretty good too. The writing was not stingy when it needed to be. I'll give it a 7/10.

In fact, I really improved my writing skills when writing this book... Not really, I’m improving my writing skills. Many readers who were new to this book should know that my previous writing style was more serious and formal than it is now. I used a lot of heavy words, which made the reading experience not so easy and required me to calm down and read it.

I have deliberately suppressed this characteristic in this book, and tried to keep the writing style as light-hearted and cheerful as possible, occasionally mixing in some of Mo Ying'er's unique literary melancholy... (also known as "Every day I am told that I am like Yang Zhi's literary tune from the Jiangnan Dragon Clan").

As for the purpose, it is probably to allow more people to read it. After all, I don’t want to go through the situation where the old book has 66 words and 1000 collections again.

Alas, I’m in my senior year now, and I want to make a living by writing.

I always thought I was a pretty good writer, so why can't I just make a living?

Woo woo woo.

Take a nap first, then continue writing when you wake up.

Thank you for the invitation. I woke up and it was 8 am. I just sat down.

In terms of character creation, the main focus of this volume is on the emotional advancement of the two little ones. Well, after the end of this volume, the two little guys have officially begun to "know" each other. This understanding will become more and more profound after breaking down their guard and masks. This is the official beginning of the emotional line.

The plot of Volume 2 will begin with a trip to Winter County, where Aurora first arrived. The rhythm is still to reveal the main line in daily life, but this time there will be more sugar.

In terms of plot rhythm, I can give myself high marks for this volume. To be honest, I was scared at the beginning when I thought about writing a lot of daily content. I always felt that daily life would destroy the rhythm of my main plot and make my rhythm collapse.

But in actual implementation, it was unexpectedly good - as one reader commented, it was like life, the daily routine and the main plot were closely linked.

The biggest gain I got from this volume is this: daily life does not equal water, it can be completely integrated with the main line to form a complete context.

In addition, the world view has been basically laid out, and most of the clues needed in the later stages have already been provided with interfaces and foreshadowings, which can be slowly unfolded as the plot unfolds.

I am really happy to see the world becoming more and more consistent before my eyes.

I still like this story very much. The conception is relatively complete. Unless there are any major accidents, the two to three million words will definitely be serialized without interruption.

Anyway, I still hope that everyone will subscribe more. I am a poor college student and will graduate soon. I will feel at ease if I can get more royalties... (fist)

If you have time, you can also try the high-quality method used by many people to collect books: subscribe when you have nothing to do, and read them when you have enough.

I sincerely thank you all for your support. I feel that this book was completed by us together. If it were just me, it would have been difficult to achieve this.

I still say the same thing from two years ago until now: thank you for reading my book!

Two years have passed, and my love for words has not diminished at all, but has become more and more intense, which is inseparable from the increasing number of readers.

Thank you so much, each of you is a noble person in my life.

I won’t be sentimental anymore. I won’t stop updating this time and will start volume two tomorrow.

See you at Sand Song!

------

By the way, the inspiration for the character Lucius in this volume actually comes from a song by the band STARSET called Let it Die.

At the time, Volume One of the book was missing a piece of the puzzle: a charismatic anti-hero.

I had been thinking about it for a long time and had abandoned several drafts, but after hearing this song, I came up with it on the spot.

They are really talented.
