"What happened to Mitis?"
"Eh? Nothing much, just remembered something. By the way, Ella, do you remember what the previous Demon King looked like?"
“Ah… well… to be honest, I have no idea… even the Demon Queen herself was forcibly chosen by Camisia…”
After hesitating for a moment, Ella told Mitis the reason why she was forced to be the Demon Queen, and Mitis swore to keep it strictly confidential.
"Is that so? So, Ella feels she has no connection to the Demon King at all? She has no memory of it at all?"
As she walked towards the adventurers, Mitis tilted her head and looked at Ella, her eyes flickering with a subtle color that Ella couldn't recognize.
Ella gripped the staff tightly in distress.
"Yeah, that's it. I'm just an ordinary person... I have no idea about demon kings or anything like that."
"Kamisia doesn't know this?"
"I told Camisia about it at first, but Camisia and Dean—the acting Demon King of the Eastern Demon Tribe—explained that I lost my memory because of the seal of the One God, and that made me wonder if it was true."
Ella couldn't help but smile, looking at Mitis with a wry smile. The fact that someone was willing to listen to her troubles and find ways to solve them for her made Ella feel very relaxed with a sense of liberation and security.
Mitis was silent for a moment, as if she was hesitating about something, her mouth opening and closing from time to time, as if she wanted to say something but couldn't. Finally, she smiled and waved.
"Well, isn't being a Demon Queen good? You don't have to worry about your life, and the entire Demon Clan will be loyal to you. Besides, if someone else becomes a Demon Queen, their power might increase their ambitions and they might start a war. Wouldn't the entire Demon Clan, including Camisia, be dragged into it? Ella wouldn't want to see that happen."
"That's true... but this fake feeling... is really unsettling."
To be precise, it is difficult for me to fall asleep every time I think about it. Although both Lotte and Iris have told me not to think about it, if I could really do without caring about anything, I would not be called Ella.
Seeing Ella's hesitation, Mitis put her arm around Ella's shoulders and patted her well-developed chest confidently.
"Don't worry, there's no one more suited to be a Demon King than Ella. After all, I'm a vampire who's lived a long time, so I'm very confident in my ability to judge people, you know? And if that day ever comes, let me silence all those who doubt me."
Although the feeling of their skin touching each other made her feel a little uncomfortable, Mitis's words made her feel very warm. Following Mitis's words, Ella changed the subject without being frank.
"Everyone shut up or something, isn't Mitis going to resort to violence?"
"That depends on whether that person is as strong as me. Anyway, don't worry, Ella."
Mitis tilted her head and blinked her left eye at Ella.
But she soon realized that the distance between them was too close, especially when she looked at Ella just now. She could even feel her breathing clearly. A feeling of embarrassment instantly surged across her face, and Mitis awkwardly put down her hand on Ella's shoulder.
"Ahem, let's go check on the adventurers over there first."
"If Mitis decides to do so, I have no objection... But why did Mitis decide to follow them? Was it just her instinct as a commander?"
"It's strange that they'd deliberately use concealment magic to lurk around. They must be the poachers' accomplices."
Mitis sighed.
"To be more precise, they're discarded pawns. Since they'd dared to place so many valuables on a low-level adventurer, they must have inscribed something like a forced contract, threatening death if they don't fulfill it. Even interrogating them for information is probably impossible."
"Then why take them to the Black Dragon Mountains? If we can't find out where the poachers are, then it's completely pointless, isn't it?"
"This is this, that is that. There's magic to carve contracts, and there must be magic to break them. As long as we can find someone who can break them, they'll be able to work."
"Eh? A spell that cancels a contract? Can it cancel a slave contract, too?"
I thought of Loti in an instant. According to the current information, once a slave contract is signed in this world, it cannot be canceled, so I have been looking for a way to cancel Loti's slave status.
Mitis stopped.
"Slave contract? What is Ella going to do? Is it urgent?"
"It can't be called urgent... Could it be that Mitis knows something?"
"...No, it's nothing. A slave contract is a type of master-servant contract, similar to the contract between a monster master and a monster master. So if we can find someone proficient in monster control, perhaps it can be lifted."
Mitis breathed out, a playful look flashing in her pink eyes.
"I heard that the Seal of Envy can not only control all monsters, but under special circumstances, it can also cause monsters to evolve. If it's that level, it might have the ability to cancel the slave contract. The Seal of Envy has always been the weakest existence in history. With Camisia's ability, she can defeat it even in a one-on-one battle. If Ella is in urgent need, perhaps she can look up the relevant records."
“Eh…”
Ella lowered her head, reached into the storage, and took out a badge emitting ominous purple lines. This was a forged Seal of Original Sin that she had recovered from the Dragon King Phoos.
It was obvious that Mitis, who was walking beside her, froze all over, and Ella immediately explained.
"Ah, don't worry. Although it has an ominous aura, it's actually not dangerous. It's a substandard imitation of the Seal of Jealousy."
“I-It’s actually a replica!?”
Mitis's voice rose a few notches and she looked very surprised.
"Yes, but I promised others that I can't tell them where Mitis came from. Using this Seal of Original Sin, I can control monsters of relatively low levels. If I modify the spell within, can I create a tool that can break slave contracts?"
Ella injected a bit of magic power into it, and the purple light originally emitted by the badge suddenly became brighter.
After carefully observing the Seal of Jealousy in Ella's hand, Mitis looked away with lack of interest.
"How could I possibly know such a thing? After all, the idea that the Seal of Envy could cancel the slave contract was just my guess. If I fail, Ella, please don't blame me."
"Haha—I thought Mitis was a very reliable person."
Ella sighed deliberately.
Mitis raised an eyebrow.
"It's Ella's expectations that are too high!... Hmm? This guy really got into a good position."
Following Mitis's gaze, Ella looked towards the swamp in front of her, where lay a man with an unshaven beard and a ferocious face. If she remembered correctly, he should be a scout among the adventurers.
Mitis waved her hands in disgust to drive away the flies that were flying towards her.
"Let's tie them up with ropes. If Ella knows the levitation technique, it won't be a problem for me to take them to the Black Dragon Mountains."
"Well, after we finish this, let's go back early. Lotte and Nanako will probably be worried."
"Yes, really, Ella cares too much about other people's feelings."
Looking around, Mitis pulled a vine from the bushes, tied it around the neck of the scout in the distance, and then slowly pulled it to her side.
Today is the first anniversary!
Cough, cough, cough!
As you readers may have guessed, today marks the one-year anniversary of Yomi writing this book. Looking back, I never imagined last afternoon that I would be hunched over my computer (not just typing) today.
Well, back then, I was desperate for light novels and found one that really matched my tastes (those of you who've read the extras can probably guess which one it was; yes, it was "Lolita City Lord"). However, the storyline was too unexpected—or, more accurately, too bloody! How could a little loli kill someone? (Deep persecution!) So I abandoned it midway and decided to write my own. At the time, I thought a few tens of thousands of words would be enough, driven by passion. I never imagined I'd be able to...now...with character design contracts that don't cost me anything!
Well - let's get back to the topic and be serious.
At the beginning, Yomi posted about 1.5 words, which was about the first three chapters. She posted it late at night, and the next day she opened her phone with surprise. When she saw the collection, she was shocked, "What?! There are actually three collections!?" Then, the whole day, apart from focusing on developing the plot, she just kept refreshing the webpage, watching the collection and popularity slowly increase.
I remember that after two days, I had seven collections!
Perhaps it was because I'd never done anything so positively acknowledged before, so I was pleasantly surprised. From that day on, Yomi took pleasure in writing non-stop, chatting with fellow authors in the group about how to develop the plot (which now seems like a dark history). It was incredibly fun. The last few days of winter vacation are always free, is that common sense? Or maybe it's just Yomi's individual differences.
Looking back, the ones I wrote with the same period have been cancelled, the ones that have finished have been cancelled, and the ones that are still around can be counted on one hand. I am really filled with emotion. In the entire winter of 18, apart from Yomi, only Ji Chouran and Ju Ju's works are still around. The cooing rate is terribly high. If it weren't for the support of the readers so far, Yomi would definitely have become a pigeon by now, and would have cooed so much that she would have forgotten the plot and settings. This is very important. I am very grateful for the support and comments of the readers.
Finally, someone in the group asked Yomi before.
"It's almost the first anniversary, why not have a first anniversary event?"
I did think about it originally. I wanted to ask the artist to draw a Q version and make it into an acrylic pendant or stand, but the artist's energy is limited, and changing artists all the time is very troublesome in various ways, so I gave up the idea of using the Q version acrylic pendant/stand as a gift. It is worth mentioning that the Q version of Ella will be released next week (this month it seems that she is going to snatch the first place in the monthly list of Snow Kirin, the pillar of Qingwen, so there will probably be some gold coin commissions XD).
In addition, each volume in the future will probably, yes probably, have a cover that will be almost all kinds of Ella, maybe there will also be two-person or multi-person ones. We will talk about the future later, this is just a preview.
Lastly, today's cover is just to commemorate the first anniversary, and will be changed back later~ So readers who think it's too mature don't worry~
Next, the final, final, final part! The most important part! A huge thank you to editor Tia for her revisions to the story. Thanks to the artists Cai Miao_, Luobozi, Fufumi, and Laxiuzi for their adorable character designs. And finally, to all the readers who have been reading this far. Without your support, this wouldn't be possible. Thank you so much!
Well, this is the first anniversary picture. The artist is Mr. Luobozi. It shows a slightly more mature Ella.
Above~

Chapter 32 Obtaining Intelligence
*创世纪6187年6月24日 晚21:47分 黑龙山脉
Although there was a huge barrier built by black dragons inside the Black Dragon Mountains, Ella encountered basically no obstacles and easily entered the valley because she had the token given by Vera when she was in the Kingdom of Barris.
Standing on the edge of the cliff, Ella looked down.
"Wow...it's a completely different world."
Unlike the primeval forest that stretches for several kilometers outside the barrier, there are almost no tall plants inside the valley, mostly low shrubs. With the help of faint moonlight, you can see a vast lake at the bottom of the valley. Countless gems are casually discarded in the valley, and various precious plants can be seen everywhere. Sometimes one or two stuffed animals of unknown species will pop out around. The quiet and peaceful atmosphere gives people a feeling of not wanting to disturb it, as if the slightest sound will shatter this dream.
If it were daytime, this place would be like a world of Eden.
Ella had this premonition in her heart.
Pointing at the huge cave on the mountain not far away, Mitis let go of the vine in her hand.
"That's where the black dragon sleeps, right? There seem to be many more nearby. Ah~ah, I never thought I'd be able to enter the Black Dragon Mountains openly one day. If I tell anyone about it, I'm sure those nobles will be envious."
"But I didn't see any black dragon at all..."
"They must be sleeping at night. Dragons are sleepy creatures."
"But Vera said that poachers are harassing this place day and night, not giving them any time to rest..."
"The Imperial army is approaching, isn't it? They wouldn't be foolish enough to rush in and attack now. If they were surrounded by the Empire from behind, the damage wouldn't be repaired overnight. Furthermore, this would improve relations between the Empire and the dragons. If the Empire were to actually crack down on the poachers, the black dragons would be much less vigilant, which would be very disadvantageous for the poachers in many ways."
Mitis waved her hand, then turned around to look at the four adventurers who were tied up by vines. Since Mitis had threatened to throw them off the mountain if they shouted, no one dared to speak, but just stared at the two with fear in their eyes.
"There should be some black dragons skilled in spells. If we hand them over to the black dragons, we might be able to get some information about the poachers. But...how do we approach the black dragons? What if they mistake us for intruders?"
"Vera said that as long as you have this, you won't be considered an enemy. As long as you take it out in time, there should be no problem."
Looking at the token given by Vera in her hand, Ella felt a little unsure.
"The key is timing... I don't want to be bombarded with dragon magic or something right off the bat. I don't want to be turned into a roasted vampire."
"No, black dragons are very approachable."
"Only Ella would think that."
Mitis sighed and tightened the vines. The pain of being strangled made Tavo and his group gasp.
"When you encounter the black dragon, be quiet. If you provoke those guys, you will bear the consequences yourself."
"Aren't you sending us to be food for the black dragon?"
One of the adventurers said in surprise.
Trying to suppress a smile, Mitis raised an eyebrow.
"Whether or not you'll become food depends on your performance."
"Well……"
Bitter looks suddenly appeared on the faces of Tavo and the other three. They really didn't think that they had anything that could attract the black dragon. All the information about the poachers was restricted by the brand. If they said it out, they would die instantly. No matter what, the outcome would be the same.
"Ella, get ready, it's time to go."
“Well… I don’t think that’s necessary…”
With a wry smile, Ella withdrew her gaze from the "Terrain Search" and took a few steps back from the edge of the cliff. Then, a huge black shadow slowly appeared in front of everyone from below. Judging from the other party's huge size, there was no other option except the black dragon.
"You are—huh? This smell... is it the person who holds the token?"
It was not a familiar voice. After Ella glanced at Mitis, who had a wary look on her face, she slowly spoke according to the introduction Rivera had given her.
"I'm a friend of Vera's, the one who gave you the special magic potion."
I clearly felt that the other person's breath stagnated for a moment.
"Hmm—I didn't expect you to be our clan's benefactor. Fine, please follow me."
The speaking black dragon used its wings to turn in mid-air, revealing its back to Ella who was standing on the edge of the cliff. Perhaps it was a kind of innate ability, the fine scales on its back began to ripple, eventually forming a fence to prevent people from falling.
Although it was not the first time she saw it, Ella still felt very surprised. After hesitating for a moment, she nodded to Mitis and sat on the black dragon's back first. Then Mitis jumped on as well. As for the four adventurers, considering that letting them sit on the back together might disgust the black dragon, Mitis just hung them in the air with her arm strength.
