This tranquility did not last long. Ban raised his head, his gaze passing through the mountain of documents and landing on you.

His eyes were firm and resolute. "Nagi, you're with me."

Ban just stared straight at you, his gaze carrying an undeniable power.

You hesitated for a moment, but eventually took a step and walked to Ban's side.

"From now on, you'll sit next to me and handle the affairs of the old clan members." Ban said, picking up a thick stack of documents from the table and stuffing them into your hands without hesitation.

You received the document and were somewhat incredulous, staring at it helplessly.

Just as he was about to decline, he saw Ban already sitting at the table, focused on handling government affairs. His serious attitude made him swallow back the words he was about to say.

Left with no other choice, you had to do as Ban instructed.

I took a deep breath, calmed myself down, and began to review the documents in my hands.

You appear helpless in the face of the documents in your hands, not because you are unintelligent, but because you have long focused on the training and missions of assassins and lack experience in handling matters within the clan.

But your inherent stubbornness and tenacity quickly calmed you down, and you began to study the document word by word, trying to understand its structure and key points.

The only sounds in the Cabinet were the scratching of pens on paper and the occasional rustling of documents being turned.

Time slipped by unnoticed, and the sunlight outside the window gradually began to slant westward.

Ban handles matters extremely quickly, and his work is nearing completion.

He put down his pen, stretched slightly, and then turned his gaze to you, who were still intently looking down at the documents.

Your brows furrowed slightly, your gaze focused and resolute, as if you were completely absorbed in the documents.

Ban watched silently, not uttering a sound to disturb them, simply enjoying this moment of tranquility.

After what seemed like an eternity, you finally finished reading the last document in your hand, let out a soft sigh of relief, and looked up to meet Ban's gaze.

"how do you feel?"

"It's alright. It's just that these matters are much more complicated than I imagined."

Hearing this, he chuckled and said, "I believe these are not difficult things for you."

After leaving the hawks, no one spoke a word the entire way; only the wind whispered in their ears.

You glanced at the ground instinctively and noticed that Ban's shadow had somehow moved closer to you, almost overlapping. Your heart skipped a beat, and you looked at Ban beside you in confusion.

Madara Uchiha's face remained cold and stern, but the tips of his ears were slightly red.

Before you could react, Ban suddenly reached out and enveloped your wrist with his warm palm. His movements seemed forceful, but his fingertips were trembling slightly.

Immediately afterwards, a white jade flute was placed in his palm.

You paused for a moment, your gaze falling on the flute. The white jade gleamed with a soft luster, and the flute body was carved with exquisite patterns. From the material and color to the craftsmanship, everything about it was of the highest quality.

This flute is more exquisite than the original, and you subconsciously shook your head.

Ban didn't let go of your hand. Instead, his brows furrowed slightly, a hint of nervousness rising in his heart. He awkwardly turned his face away, but his voice was deliberately calm, "Don't you like it?"

"It's too precious for me."

Ban secretly breathed a sigh of relief, his tense shoulders relaxing as he chuckled softly, his thumb tracing your fingertips. "If you like it, that's all that matters. Don't overthink it."

Hearing what Ban said, you didn't say anything more.

Chapter 16·Ninja Cat

Walking through the busiest streets and alleys of the tribe, the shops along the street exude the aroma of cooking, and the cries of vendors rise and fall like waves, engulfing your figures.

Wherever you and Ban went, the tribespeople looked at you with awe, yet dared not get too close.

Suddenly, a little boy rushed out from the crowd, his face rosy, like a ripe apple.

He stopped in front of you, panting heavily, his hands gripping the hem of his clothes tightly, his knuckles white.

"Lord Nagi!" The little boy tilted his head back, his voice clear and loud, "I admire you very much!" As he spoke, he gently placed a piece of candy in your hand.

The candies were wrapped in colorful wrappers, reflecting a dazzling light in the setting sun.

Looking at the extra candy in your hand, a warm feeling welled up inside you, and you gave the boy a faint smile.

Madara stood to the side, taking in the whole scene. He crossed his arms, his brows furrowed slightly, and a strange pang of jealousy welled up inside him.

Uchiha Nagi has a cold and aloof personality, but this little boy easily won her smile, which made Madara feel very uncomfortable.

"Can you wait for me to grow up?" the little boy asked shyly, drawing circles on the ground with his toes. "I want to marry you!"

"Huh?" A hint of surprise and confusion flashed in your eyes, clearly not expecting the little boy to say such a thing.

"Say it again, who are you going to marry?" Ban gritted his teeth, his eyes blazing as he stared intently at the little boy.

The aura emanating from him was so fierce that the surrounding temperature seemed to drop several degrees. The little boy was so frightened that his face turned pale, his eyes filled with tears, and he burst into tears.

"Don't take it so seriously." You shook your head helplessly, reached out and rescued the little boy from Ban's grasp, gently patting the boy's back. "Go back now."

The little boy sobbed, wiped his tears haphazardly with his sleeve, turned and ran away, disappearing into the crowd.

Before you could say anything more, Ban had already grabbed your wrist and strode away.

Passing through the bustling crowd, I turned into a quiet alley. The walls on both sides of the alley were covered with moss, and occasionally a few stray cats would dart past from the corners.

Ban walked on in silence until he came to a quiet courtyard.

In the center of the courtyard stands an ancient cherry blossom tree, its petals falling with the evening breeze like a pink snowfall.

Ban stopped, turned around, and swiped the candy from your hand in one swift motion. He unwrapped the candy, put it in his mouth, and then placed the wrapper back in your palm.

Looking at the expressionless face of the man, you paused for a moment, then hesitantly reminded him, "Those are candies for me."

Ban stared at you intently, his voice low and deep, "You like that child?"

Completely bewildered, you were taken aback by Ban's sudden questioning, your eyes filled with confusion. "What on earth are you thinking?"

Ban didn't respond, but instead took your hand again and walked towards the other end of the street.

Not understanding why, you could only let him lead you, and soon you arrived at a candy shop.

The candy shop was filled with a sweet aroma, and the shelves were covered with a dazzling array of candies of all colors and shapes.

Ban glanced around, then pointed to the candies on the shelf and said to the shopkeeper, "Wrap all of these up."

With a broad smile, the shopkeeper quickly packed the candies one by one, and soon a large bag of candies was handed to Ban.

Ban turned around and stuffed the candy into your arms. Seeing how you were struggling to hold the bag full of candy, he frowned slightly and reached out to tuck a stray strand of hair behind your ear. "Eat more if you like it."

Holding a handful of candy, you looked at Ban's slightly reddened ears and suddenly understood his thoughts.

"Are you jealous?" You couldn't help but chuckle and poked Ban's shoulder.

Ban's body stiffened slightly, but he stubbornly said, "Nonsense, I just think these candies look better than that one."

Seeing that Ban wouldn't admit it, you didn't press the matter. Instead, you peeled open a candy and held it to Ban's lips, saying, "Try this."

Ban lowered his eyes and gazed at you. As if possessed, he opened his mouth and put the candy in his mouth, the sweet taste spreading on his tongue.

Whether intentionally or unintentionally, you suddenly feel your fingertip being gently bitten by a spotted spot, and a tingling sensation instantly shoots up your arm.

You instinctively tried to pull your hand back, but Ban moved faster, grabbing your wrist with his large hand. The force wasn't strong, but it was impossible to break free.

Immediately afterwards, Madara Uchiha mischievously licked your finger.

Your mind goes blank for a moment, and you feel a surge of heat rushing from your feet to the top of your head, your heart pounding as if it's going to burst out of your chest.

The chirping of insects by the river and the barking of dogs in the distance vanished without a trace at that moment, and the whole world seemed to consist only of each other's rapid breathing and disordered heartbeats.

Realizing what was happening, you abruptly turned your head away, avoiding Ban's burning gaze, your cheeks burning. "Shameless."

Seeing your flustered appearance, Ban felt an indescribable pleasure welling up inside him, and shamelessly replied, "I'm only shameless towards you."

You pulled your hand away from Ban's tight grip, your fingers unconsciously tracing the spot where Ban had just touched you. You shoved the bag full of candy back into Ban's arms and turned to leave in a hurry.

Ban watched your departing figure, his mind replaying your shocked and shy expression, a triumphant smile playing on his lips.

Back in your room, you lean against the door, your hand unconsciously touching your burning cheeks. Recalling Ban's bold and unrestrained actions, your heart still pounds.

"Is this what the book describes as 'heart-fluttering'?"

Uchiha Reixi brought a simple bowl of food to Senju Itama.

He put down the food and was about to leave when the childish, pleading voice of Banjian suddenly rang out, "Big brother, can you help me send a message to my family to let them know I'm safe? I'm afraid they'll worry about me."

Upon hearing this, Leng Xi paused, stunned, and stood frozen in place.

A complex mix of emotions welled up within him. The child before him belonged to the hostile Senju clan, and according to common sense, he could not possibly grant this request.

Looking at the expectant yet fearful look in Banjian's eyes, Lengxi couldn't help but feel a pang of pity.

After a moment of silence, Leng Xi finally couldn't bear to refuse the poor child outright, and he said softly, "I'll try my best."

After saying that, he hurriedly left the cell, afraid that if he stayed even a second longer, he would change his mind.

"Elder Nagi!" Chuanlan greeted him respectfully and warmly. "I was just looking for you. A new batch of adorable little creatures have arrived at the clan's Ninja Cat Pavilion. Would you like to go and take a look? Perhaps you can find a Ninja Cat that is destined for you."

Chuan Lan's eyes sparkled with anticipation.

You initially wanted to refuse, but seeing Chuan Lan's expectant eyes, your heart softened, and you nodded, going with her to the Ninja Cat Mansion.

We arrived at the Ninja Cat Museum together, where a faint scent of catnip filled the air.

Various kinds of ninja cats roam and play in the aquarium. Their fur is colorful and their eyes are like dazzling gems. Some are lazily basking in the sun, while others are staring at you curiously.

Chuanlan enthusiastically introduces you to the characteristics and abilities of each ninja cat. Your gaze sweeps over these adorable creatures, but you find that none of them approach you on their own initiative.

As a member of the Uchiha clan, you are constantly tainted with a strong killing intent, which acts like an invisible barrier, causing even the most sensitive ninja cats to hesitate to approach.

Despite your efforts to soften your expression, your eyes still betray a complex mix of disappointment and affection.

Chuanlan noticed that you were in a bad mood and quickly comforted you in a soft voice.

"Elder Nagi, don't worry, these little guys just haven't discovered your kindness yet. I believe that sooner or later there will be a special ninja cat who can feel your gentleness and stay with you."

You nodded gently to reassure Chuanlan, then turned and left the Ninja Cat Mansion.

You don't want Chuanlan to worry too much about your affairs.

Meanwhile, Uchiha Kaminori learned from his conversation with Uchiha Kawahara that Elder Nagi seemed to want a ninja cat, but had not found a suitable one due to her own personality.

With a quick thought, Huo He excitedly knocked on Madara Uchiha's door.

"Young Clan Leader!" Fire Core's voice was urgent and excited.

Ban put down the scroll in his hand, opened the door and looked at Huo Nu, "What's the matter that you're in such a hurry?"

Huo He caught his breath and quickly said, "Young Clan Leader, Elder Nagi wants a ninja cat, but we couldn't find a suitable one at the Ninja Cat Pavilion."

Upon hearing this, a glint flashed in Ban's eyes, and he immediately made up his mind. "You can go down now."

After the fire core left, Madara quickly formed hand seals and used the Shadow Clone Technique to create a jet-black ninja cat.

"From now on, your mission is to protect Uchiha Nagi at all times, without fail," Madara said to his clone.

The clone ninja cat nodded and disappeared from the room.

Night falls, the bright moon hangs high, and you lie wearily on the tatami mat after completing your day's tasks.

The scene at the Ninja Cat Mansion during the day kept replaying in my mind.

Suddenly, you hear a faint meow, and you get up and open the door in confusion.

A black ninja cat, as black as night, crouched at the doorway, its eyes like two rubies, gleaming mysteriously in the moonlight.

This ninja cat looks very thin and looks at you pitifully, occasionally letting out a weak meow.

You crouch down and carefully extend your hand.

Surprisingly, this ninja cat didn't run away in fear like other cats. Instead, it gently rubbed against your leg, making purring sounds as if it were trying to be affectionate.

A long-lost smile appeared on your face as you gently cradled the cat in your arms. "It's not afraid of me at all..."

As if the ninja cat understood you, it stuck out its tongue and licked its palm, the ticklish sensation making you involuntarily curl your hand.

As you carefully examine the cat, you suddenly feel that its red eyes seem familiar, and the image of Madara Uchiha unconsciously floats into your mind.

You paused for a moment, then shook your head, chuckled self-deprecatingly, and realized you must be overthinking things.

Under the moonlight, you carry the cat back into the house, gently place it on the bed, and lie on your side beside it, gently stroking its fur with your fingers.

The ninja cat curled up obediently beside him, its eyes slightly narrowed, enjoying this rare moment of comfort.
