4. I might post a side story later, it's just something I'm having fun with, about the organization, and I don't think it will be more than 1000 words. You probably don't need to subscribe, and reading it won't affect your reading experience.
The activities of the organization in the end-of-volume side story
"So, based on the investigators' report, we discovered a new world."
In the dimly lit hall, the three sat at a triangular table, quietly listening to the report from the bespectacled man beside them.
The man casually swiped his hand in the air, opening a light screen and enlarging it.
"This is Marvel Universe 199999-7, a brand new world we have discovered."
"In that case, why not just send the combatants to collect the sealing stones? Why bother reporting it?"
Suddenly, a slender figure on the round table interrupted.
The bespectacled man stopped what he was doing and explained, "Sir, one of our combatants went missing and it has been confirmed that he died in this universe. Moreover, our intelligence officer sent back some noteworthy information; he discovered the whereabouts of the traitor Vishir."
"Oh?" A tall figure on the table spoke, turning to look at the bespectacled man.
"Have we found the traitor who misused the sacred artifact?"
"Yes, sir." The bespectacled man bowed slightly.
"Then let's set our sights on the next world after we've settled the current conflict there," the slender figure said.
"The king's sacred artifact is still recovering, so we can only send some people to probe the true nature of that world for now." The tall figure shook his head, as if regretting that he couldn't conquer that world in one fell swoop.
"Let the intelligence agent come back first."
"Alright, I'll go recall the intelligence officer." The bespectacled man pushed up his glasses and prepared to leave.
"Wait, shouldn't this world be a standard Earth template?" A tall figure on the round table suddenly spoke up, leaving the bespectacled man speechless.
“Yes, sir.” The bespectacled man nodded.
"Tell the intelligence agent to bring me a bowl of tofu pudding when he comes back, and make sure it's savory."
"FNMDP! You can eat tofu pudding savory? Sweet is the proper way to eat it!" The slender figure suddenly slammed her hand on the table and stood up.
"We will not accept that something so sweet as tofu pudding," the tall figure replied firmly, arms crossed.
"Can you even eat that salty stuff?" the slender figure retorted, dissatisfied.
"Um..." Another chubby figure, so large he could take up half the table, reluctantly spoke up, "If possible, could you bring me five servings of spicy food?"
"Damn it, you heretic!" The table suddenly erupted into a huge argument because of a disagreement over tastes.
The bespectacled man silently pushed up his glasses, as if it were nothing out of the ordinary.
"Gentlemen, would you like some fried dough sticks and soy milk?"
"Yes!" the three said in unison.
The bespectacled man pushed open the door and walked out, leaving the conference room.
"Well? Has the master decided who to send to that world?" A gloomy man outside the door asked, glancing sideways at the bespectacled man who came out.
The bespectacled man calmly pushed up his glasses: "The adults are arguing fiercely about something that could affect world peace, they don't have time to talk about this."
"..." The gloomy man was silent for a while, then turned his head away: "Then remember to bring me a bowl of sweet food."
"Tsk." The bespectacled man clicked his tongue in annoyance: "Damn sweet tooths."
"Understood." The bespectacled man waved and left, intending to contact the intelligence officer to issue this important mission.
Today, the organizations are still peacefully arguing.
1. Here's an update for a bonus chapter; the main story will be updated shortly.
2. Volume 1 is officially finished. I never imagined it would come this far. Thank you all for your support. Although, for some reason, my collection hasn't been active lately (whispering).
Chapter 1 Avengers Tower (2800-word long chapter)
"Huh? You mean the organization has its eye on this universe?" Fu You looked at Vishir strangely.
“Yes, I ran into people from the organization earlier.” Vishir nodded and took a potato chip from the bag next to Fu You.
“But I chopped him down…” Visher said, munching on potato chips.
"Then everything will be fine, right? Are you worried that the organization will follow the clues and come after us?" Fu You asked curiously, taking a sip of soda.
“What was being cut off was a fake body,” Vishir continued.
“…Forget it, let’s discuss this with the professionals.” With that, Fu You took out a bulletproof helmet and put it on.
"Ahem." He cleared his throat. "Old nun, are you there?"
Suddenly a circle appeared in the air, and a hand appeared, delivering a sharp blow to the bulletproof helmet.
"Hehehe, it doesn't hurt." Fu You hugged his helmet and chuckled foolishly.
The hand in mid-air retracted, and with a flick of its wrist, a golden magic circle appeared on its hand, which cleaved through the bulletproof helmet with a mere shake.
Before Fu You could react, another flick of the wrist landed on his forehead.
"Awooo!" Fu You rolled on the ground, clutching his head which was buzzing from being hit.
"Child, the power of magic far exceeds your imagination." A welding ring appeared in the air, and the master welder, Ancient One, appeared at Fu You's home.
"Magic my ass! Didn't you just cut the helmet open physically?!" Fu You shouted, rubbing his head.
"That is the application of magical power, which can be used as a sharp blade to kill opponents," the Ancient One explained calmly.
"Then why not just grab a sword and go up and chop?" Fu You couldn't help but mutter under his breath.
“Master Gu Yi, you must have heard our conversation, right?” Fu You sat up straight and asked Gu Yi.
“Yes, I heard everything.” Gu Yi nodded.
"This enemy is completely unknown. Do you have any ideas on how to deal with Master Ancient One?"
The Ancient One shook her head: "I need to maintain the operation of the various sanctuaries to prevent the invasion of Dormammu, the lord of the Dark Dimension."
"Moreover, even if I knew of their existence, I couldn't see them with magic; it would be very difficult to locate them accurately with my naked eye."
"You mean..." Fu You had a bad feeling.
"I need your help to find those outsiders and stop them."
*Beep.* Main quest updated: Deal with the outsiders.
However, this wasn't a system prompt, but rather Fu You's understanding of the meaning behind those words.
In short, it's another thankless main quest that's exhausting to complete; just thinking about it gives me a headache.
“Master Gu Yi, look at our fighting strength. I’m just an ordinary shut-in, and she’s a weak woman. Could you give us some perks to help us deal with the enemy?” Fu You pointed at himself and Vishir, speaking with an air of seriousness.
Vishir, who was secretly eating potato chips, tilted his head upon hearing this, looked around, and pointed to himself.
"You want to learn magic?" Gu Yi saw through Fu You's thoughts at a glance.
“Yes, yes.” Fu You nodded quickly.
He always read those novel protagonists who were exceptionally talented, and when they went to another world to learn magic, they were incredibly fast.
He's a 5-year-old great mage, a 7-year-old holy mage, who spends his free time chasing girls and showing off.
That bastard next door, he could launch a nuclear bomb as soon as he got to school. He found a wife who looks like Aqua, and she can kill those legendary demons without hesitation.
"I do have many old monks' notes, but how many languages do you speak?"
"Huh? What languages?" Fu You was taken aback.
“Learning magic requires extraordinary wisdom, a strong will, sufficient comprehension, and unwavering patience. It also requires communicating with the magical dimension and mastering multiple languages to understand those notes,” the Ancient One explained.
“Uh… Jarvis… I can.” Fu You said stiffly.
His strange ability gave him a talent for conversation, but it didn't include recognizing words, did it?
"Okay, I'll bring you a few later." Gu Yi shook her head, and you could tell from Fu You's embarrassed expression.
"Okay, thank you, Master Gu Yi." After seeing Gu Yi off, Fu You scratched his head awkwardly.
"Why is learning magic so complicated?"
“All forms of intelligence that require learning take effort; don’t think magic is simple,” Vishir said, looking at Fu You.
"There was once a person who thought he could control magic and had a unique, all-magical-attribute physique. He shouted, 'My fate is in my own hands, not in the heavens,' and absorbed a large amount of magic power. As a result, he exploded on the ground."
"Um...you mean equipment?" Fu You asked blankly.
“I said blood plasma,” Vishiel replied, his expression unchanged.
"I don't really want to eat blood tofu anymore." Fu You gagged a little, feeling nauseous, as if he had been tricked by his own imagination.
"What are we having for lunch?" Vishir suddenly asked.
"What? Aren't you going back to eat?" Fu You asked curiously.
“Gwen… went out to eat with Peter, we’re out of food at home.” Vishill’s tone was unusually sullen, it seemed there really was nothing left to eat.
Incidentally, Gwen often goes to Wishill's apartment, and she usually takes care of the cooking.
However, after they started dating, they would often go out for romantic lunches and dinners. Recently, Visher looked at Peter with the expression of a cat gathering its strength to jump up and bite.
"Never mind, Stark Tower officially finished its renovations and was renamed Avengers Tower today. Want to come over for a free meal?" Fu You shrugged and invited.
"Ah."
……
"Avengers Tower is complete!" Thor shouted from the tower's entrance, drawing the attention of the surrounding crowd.
"Hey! Don't embarrass yourself outside, come in and have a seat." Tony came out of the building and reluctantly welcomed the husky inside.
"Come in, we've been waiting for you." Tony led Thor into the building.
The newly renovated Avengers Tower is even more impressive than before. The first thing you see upon entering is the Avengers logo, the large A surrounded by a circle.
The front desk displays figurines of the Avengers, specially commissioned by Tony and depicting them in action on the battlefield.
“This will be the Avengers’ base from now on,” Tony explained.
"It looks pretty luxurious! Does it have a cafeteria?" The husky's first thought upon seeing the magnificent building was to ask about the cafeteria.
"Of course, and almost everyone else has arrived."
Tony pressed the elevator button and took Thor upstairs.
The elevator doors opened, and many familiar figures were there.
The Avengers consist of a special agent duo: Captain America Steve Rogers in casual clothes, Dr. Banner in a suit looking somewhat reserved, and a braised egg eating spaghetti over there.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" Tony asked, looking at Eddie Redmayne with a puzzled expression.
“The Avengers are, after all, part of my plan. I’ve come to see what’s going on,” Eggman said authoritatively, wiping the sauce from his mouth.
“OK, you can continue your inspection. Would you like some noodles?” Tony shrugged.
"Add pasta? There's such a thing as pasta?" Thor, standing to the side, was taken aback.
“No,” Tony said matter-of-factly. “But all the chefs here are renowned chefs from various cuisines that I hired. If you want more rice, you can have more rice; if you want more noodles, you can have more noodles. Just say so.”
Thor's eyes practically lit up as he listened.
"This will be the Avengers' cafeteria from now on. It's not as good as Fu You's, but it'll be enough to fill us up," Tony said with a smile, revealing his true colors as a tycoon.
As soon as he said that, he arrived.
"Tony, I'm here to mooch a meal." The elevator doors opened, and Fu You stepped out with Vishir, waving and greeting them.
"Fu You, you've come at the right time. We're about to start eating." Tony greeted Fu You with a smile, seemingly very happy that the entire Avengers were present.
Tony has already implicitly included Fu You in the Avengers.
"Huh?" Tony suddenly noticed Vishir behind Fu You and looked at Fu You strangely: "When did you two get together?"
"Why does that sound so awkward?" Fu You glanced at Tony with displeasure. "We're both here to freeload, don't mind it, we're not related."
Tony, on the other hand, had an expression that said, "I know, I've been there."
