Yes, Madam Prime Minister

“But she said she was going to make a lot of money. If she doesn’t make any money, can she leave?” Ambrina asked.
“No,” Ronan replied.
"Will Baron Gates give it to you?" Ambrina asked again.
"No," Ronan replied again.
Ambrina clutched her chest. "My God, this is going to be terrible."
“Don’t worry, I’m here,” Ronan said. “Based on my understanding of this Ms. Dinia, or rather, this female bandit, she’s a brute, and that Baron Gates isn’t easy to deal with either. They’re bound to fight, and we can just watch their show.”
Ambrina asked, "Do you know her?"
“I’ve talked to her so much along the way. With someone as simple-minded as her, I can easily figure her out by just asking her a few questions,” Ronan said.
That's not the truth.
Ronan was unaware that the trial had erased his memories in the real world, but not his memories in the original timeline. Therefore, he believed that he had suddenly traveled here, and that his money-making plan was just a lie he told Dinia, the female bandit.
But after meeting Dinya, some more fragmented memories of himself and her appeared in his mind.
Things started to change.
Chapter 226: Change it? No! I'm making money while standing still!
Dinia, using the power of the original species, caused the trial mechanism to malfunction, and violently passed the trial.
Ronan also possessed the power of the original species, and the trial mechanism did not fully work on him. Therefore, when he encountered Dinia in the real dream of this trial, some fragments of memories appeared in his mind.
In these fragmented and vague memories, he seemed to be this woman's subordinate.
Although Ronan was still unclear about what was going on, he was certain of one thing: if Dinia really was his boss, then given his personality and style, he had definitely "trained" this female boss properly. Now he wanted to see what level this woman he had "trained" was at, and how far she could fight against that Baron Gates.
"Let's see if you can give me a little surprise."
Ronan gazed into the distance, silently anticipating what was to come.
Meanwhile, while Dinia and her group were still on their way to the tailor shop, Agustina couldn't help but say, "Boss, oh no, Your Highness, that kid looks like a bad seed. We can't rely on him."
“I know,” Dinia said. Was there anyone in the world who knew Ronan better than her how wicked he was?
The third daughter, Yvette, was more concerned with another question: "Princess, now that we've made money, should we continue being princesses or go back to the mountains?"
"Let's make money first." Dinia didn't give a reply.
As they were talking, Dinia spotted two familiar faces: Elena and Alice.
Not far away, Elena lay on a wooden plank, with a large stone slab pressing down on her. Alice carried a long-handled hammer and said, "Fellow citizens, my sister and I came here to look for work, but unfortunately our living expenses were stolen. Now we'll put on a show for you. If you find it interesting, please give us a few copper coins."
Someone couldn't help but tease, "I have a great job recommendation, want to go? I guarantee you'll make a fortune while lying down, hahaha."
"Sisters? They don't look like it to me," someone else exclaimed.
“We are half-sisters.” Alice replied, then swung her sledgehammer, but pulled it back just before it hit the stone.
"Hey, go ahead and smash it!" a spectator shouted in dissatisfaction.
"Smash it! We're just waiting to see the milk explode!" someone else shouted.
"If you're not going to smash it, then get lost and go make money lying down," shouted one of the people who started the commotion.
Dinia glanced at it twice, then, not intending to look any longer, told Agustina and the other two to leave.
Although everyone in this dream world except herself and Ronan is quite different from the real person, Ambrina's soft side is amplified, while her stubborn nature is suppressed. Agustina is even more ruthless, and the ruthlessness in her bones is not seen. Yvette and Canaan are also different from the real person. It is conceivable that Elena and Alice will also be different. But no matter how different they are, with their abilities, they cannot be at a disadvantage.
Dinia felt that she didn't need to interfere with the two of them now, lest she introduce unexpected factors.
After ordering their clothes and shoes, the group returned to the mayor's residence.
After having dinner together that evening, Dinia, dressed in men's clothing, went to the riverbank alone and sat on the stone embankment. The scattered and messy moonlight on the river was like her chaotic thoughts.
She didn't come here to play games, although she had been playing them all these days. She wasn't that eighteen-year-old anymore, even though she had been living like an eighteen-year-old herself all these days.
Now, she needs to start thinking about getting down to business.
Two things: first, she wanted Ronan to fully accept that this was a dream, not reality; second, she wanted to be with Ronan here.
But how do you accomplish this?
Firstly, it's very difficult, at least in Dinia's opinion. Ronan is a very opinionated person, and even more so when it comes to serious matters. Such a person is hard to persuade, not to mention that she herself is not good at reasoning.
The second one is even more difficult, because Dinya feels that she is really not Ronan's type. In her opinion, Ronan either likes someone similar to him, who is smart and calm enough to be compatible with him, or someone who makes him feel comfortable, is gentle and quiet, and would never cause him any trouble. Unfortunately, she is neither of those.
Whether it's persuading others or winning a man's favor, these are things she's extremely bad at.
Should things change? Dinia asked herself.
But can she still change? Although she looks like she's in her early twenties, she's actually almost thirty.
An enraged Dinia punched the stone embankment, cracking it open. "Troublesome. I won't change it. Once this mess is over, I'll just go and be honest with this guy and tell him that this world is a dream. Believe it or not, I'll give him a break this time. Take it or leave it. If he fails, he fails."
She ultimately decided not to make any changes.
Not only will she not change, this time she will rely on herself to stand tall in this city and earn this money.
Dinya hadn't realized that she had changed. The things she had learned in the two years she spent with Ronan had given her the idea of earning money with dignity. Before, she could only earn money in the mountains, and that was by beating people to their knees and forcing them to pay.
Dinia decided to give Ronan in this dream a little surprise, and that immediately cheered her up.
Feeling better, Dinia got up and headed away from the riverbank, ready to go back to sleep.
She never expected to run into Elena and Alice on her way back. The two of them were standing at the entrance of the mayor's residence, not moving forward.
"What do you want?" Dinia asked.
"Who are you?" Alice retorted, speaking very directly, which was unlike her usual self.
Dinia replied, "The people who live here."
Elena's eyes lit up when she heard this. "Okay, take us in. We have a special gift for the new mayor."
"Can I know what it is?" Dinia asked again.
“Are you the mayor?” Alice asked.
“No,” Diniya replied.
“In any case, madam, if we manage to deliver this gift successfully, you will definitely benefit as well,” Elena said. “Besides, your power is so great that you don’t need to worry about us doing anything bad, right?”
Dinia smiled. These two were interesting. Alice was straightforward, while Elena had become more eloquent and even started making empty promises. Although, according to Ronan, Alice was actually a very straightforward person at heart, only outwardly adept at handling situations, while Elena was actually very good at building relationships and was not as sharp as she appeared.
It now appears that the two of them have switched roles.
“I can take you in to meet the new mayor, but I need to be present,” Dinia agreed, but with a condition.
“No problem,” Elena immediately agreed.
Dinia then led the two into the mayor's residence.
Elena and Alice took a deep breath. Their future depended on whether they could persuade the new mayor.
Dinia knew that these two must have come for something serious, so she went and called Ronan out of his room.
Ronan wasn't particularly expectant. "Gentlemen, tell me about your gifts."
Chapter 227 The Plan, the Pretext, Those Who Know, Know
Alice paused for a moment before beginning her narration, “Wherever industry and commerce are developed, a large number of ordinary people rely on labor to make a living, and there will be guild organizations. Haijin City is no exception, and there are especially many and large ones. Some of these guild organizations are more like gangs operating in the gray area than alliances of industry practitioners.”
"However, these gang members are only slightly higher than the lower class. Above them are the city police, who are few in number and generally don't care about anything that isn't particularly serious. Above the police are the army stationed by the kingdom. These soldiers are the real power of this city. And above the army are the powerful and wealthy groups led by Baron Gates."
"The reason why successive mayors couldn't manage things was because they didn't have anyone under their command. The people were all from Baron Gate's side, especially the military. The kingdom paid them very little, and several percent of that was embezzled. They were only able to live a good life here because Baron Gate paid them."
Alice explained the general background.
Ronan remained expressionless and listened attentively, as did Dinia; her words were merely a prelude.
Elena takes the stage. "In the afternoon, an old woman tried to trick us into working in that kind of place, but we caught her and hid her in a secret location. She had some criminal records of gangs, which also fell into our hands. Mayor, you can use the pretext of rectifying market chaos and maintaining public order to set up a temporary department, recruit some people, and promise them a share of the profits if they take down those gangs. After taking down those gangs, the next step is to take action against those guilds. Finally, this temporary department will become permanent, and Mayor, you will have leverage to negotiate with Baron Gates."
Ronan smiled without saying a word, then turned to Dinia, "What do you think?"
“Not enough,” Dinia replied.
Elena and Alice were both stunned. Wasn't that enough?
Dinia seemed to see through their doubts. "I'm not saying your steps aren't big enough, but rather that the pretext you're using for your first step isn't credible enough. You say there are problems with public security and the market? I think Baron Gate can make those two problems disappear with just one sentence."
"To fight against this old bloodsucker who is entrenched in the local area, if we don't use violence that he absolutely cannot resist, then we must use a name that is outside his control."
This sentence is a summary of Dinia's experience in watching Ronan manipulate events in New Sea City and defeat the various local powerful figures in the original seven special cities.
Dinia continued, "Let me introduce myself. I am a princess, a princess who is about to be married off to a foreign tribe. I am currently living in Haijin City. I think we should form a special security threat investigation team based on the premise that my safety is threatened. I believe that in this way, Baron Gate will not dare to say that I am absolutely safe. If he dares to say that, I will dare to stab myself in the back and blame it on him."
Ah, this! Elena and Alice were stunned in surprise.
Ronan glanced sideways at Dinia, thinking to himself that this woman was quite something.
Before the two could recover from their shock, Dinia continued, "Tomorrow, you two go straight to the door and bang on the drum. Tell them you are the princess's servants, and that someone stole the treasure I gave you and is planning to kidnap you to a place like that."
This world is strange. There's no police department, just a court that arrests, tries cases, and sentences people all at once. And this court is right next to the mayor's residence. It's simply bizarre.
But this drum is quite interesting.
"Um, let me interject. You can't just bang the drum directly; it's illegal," Ronan said.
"Hmm?" Dinia frowned.
Ronan explained, "Next to the drum is a room called the 'Resolution Room.' You have to go there first to report a case. If it's a normal matter, it will be mediated directly. Only in cases that are truly serious will you be allowed to beat the drum."
"Ha, once we get into that dilapidated house, the people inside will definitely stall for time, at least until the person in question commits suicide." Dinia had seen bureaucrats before, and bureaucrats were good at stalling. "Tonight, split into two groups. One group, set fire to that so-called 'interpretation house,' and the other two, go and bring over the woman you captured."
"Tomorrow morning, the 'interpretation room' will be gone; just start beating the drums."
Dinia immediately laid out the plan.
Ronan smiled. "I'm afraid the court president will most likely have an upset stomach and won't be able to come."
Stomach upset? There's nothing new under the sun. Dinia looked at Ronan, "Then let the mayor of this city make do for a moment and let me, the princess, sit in on the proceedings."
“This is against the laws of the kingdom,” Ronan pointed out.
Dinia retorted, "Is there any law in Haijin City? If not, then we'll follow the rules. I think you understand." In reality, especially in the first year of the establishment of Xinhai City, Ronan would often retort with a question after she said something, leaving her speechless. Today, she wanted to let Ronan taste what it was like to be questioned.
“There doesn’t seem to be such a rule,” Ronan added.
"Do you know the saying 'special cases are handled specially'?" Dinia asked rhetorically, a smile playing on her lips.
Special treatment? That word, that smile—for a moment, Ronan seemed to see himself in Dinia.
If this wasn't an illusion, then his guess about the scenes depicted in the fragments of memory was very likely correct; he really had been this woman's subordinate.
However, those fragments of memory were too unclear and too disjointed, making them somewhat unrealistic.
Even if it's clear and coherent, does that necessarily mean it's true? And even if it is true, what does it represent?
Ronan was unaware that he had encountered such a mystery so soon after transmigrating. He decided to observe for a while longer before making a decision.
“Then we will do as Your Highness wishes,” Ronan said.
Dinia gave Ronan a strange look, then left without saying a word.
Elena and Alice left too; they were going to bring the old woman they had captured over.
Soon after, the house caught fire. Although the fire was put out in time and the flames were not allowed to spread, the house itself was burned down to a dilapidated frame.
After putting out the fire, Ronan was about to take a shower and go to sleep when Dinia stood in front of her once again.
“You weren’t like yourself just now,” Dinia said to Ronan.
"What do you mean?" Ronan asked, feigning curiosity.
Dinia gave me a knowing look. “Your usual approach is to approve of the plans of those who are above you, or at least not to directly oppose them. You usually ‘optimize’ their plans, and through this optimization, you achieve a goal that benefits yourself while superficially fulfilling their plan. But you didn’t do that just now, which is very unlike you.”
"It seems you know me quite well, but everyone has their off days, don't they?" Ronan asked with a smile.
“That’s the kind of rhetorical question that’s right,” Dinia said, waving her hand. “See you tomorrow, Mayor.”
Watching Dinia's retreating figure, Ronan was both amused and exasperated. This wasn't the first time Dinia had said something similar. She was like a restless high school boy who would walk up to a girl he cared about for no reason and then condescendingly comment on her.
What they're thinking, those who know, know.
Chapter 228 Diarrhea, Delaying Tactics, You're the Real One Here
The next morning, Elena picked up a large club and struck the drum, while Alice carried a crossbow to prevent anyone from interfering.
At first, Elena was very enthusiastic about hammering, but before long, she started yawning and dawdling, only picking up the mallet to strike once every long while.
After a long while, the president of the Haijin Chengnan District Court emerged from his lover's bed, wearing a robe, and walked out of the room.
