Adam patted his satchel.
When he encountered the eight-eyed giant spider again, he would simply open the jar and release the basilisk. The spider's 360-degree vision and the structure of its eyes that could not close made the basilisk a natural nemesis of all spiders.
After making preparations, the group of five walked into the forbidden forest.
"The grass in front of the left is moving. It must be some animal that saw us approaching and ran away. Should we chase it?"
Bernard picked up the lantern and spoke excitedly.
Although the air around us is illuminated by small balls of light released by Adam, wouldn't it be more atmospheric to hold a lantern?
"With this kind of movement, it should just be a rabbit."

Cologne analyzed calmly, but then became a little uncertain:
"The young Moon-crazy Beast seems to be this big too?"
"The moonlight tonight doesn't look like there will be moon-crazy beasts appearing."
Adam glanced at the waning moon above his head:
"But this is our first discovery, so there's no harm in chasing after it and taking a look."
After finding traces of footsteps in the bushes, the five of them continued forward and came to a small river.
"There's actually a river in the Forbidden Forest?"
Cologne exclaimed first, then slapped himself in the face:
"Oh, well, I was being stupid..."
Such a large forest and the animals in it cannot rely solely on rainfall to sustain themselves.
"The bad news is that we probably lost it, but the good news is that we have a greater chance of finding magical animals if we follow the river."
Uther walked to the river and squatted down, looking for possible footprints on the river bank:
"This should be a deer's hoof. What kind of hoof is this?"
"Centaurs, unicorns, hippogriffs... all are possible. The footprints may not be very specific."
Adam shrugged, and suddenly reached out and grabbed Uther's shoulder and pulled him back: "Be careful--!"
Just as Uther left his position, a large green mouth emerged from the water.
"Thunderbolt explosion!"
Blood spread in the river, Uther covered his chest, his heart beating rapidly.
"…It was a grindylow."
Although they only met briefly, Cologne still recognized the owner of that mouth.
Grindylow is a small water monster. It is very powerful but fragile. It can usually only deal with unsuspecting Muggles and very young wizards. Its danger level is XX... the same level as Pompom.
"The danger is secondary. The main thing is that it suddenly jumped out and was a bit scary..."
Adam was also caught off guard and subconsciously reached out to pull. In fact, if he opened a shield, he could easily deal with a horse-shaped water monster that rushed out.
It seems that he is still not used to the existence of magic in his subconscious...
Chapter 75: See you in the deep forest...
The Grindylow was just a small episode. As they went downstream along the river, they discovered a lot more.
Not only ordinary animals like deer and rabbits, but even two nests of moon beasts were found. The big eyes made Adam curious about the brain structure of the moon beasts.
However, after touching the soft fur of the Moon Beast twice, Adam put this question, which seemed a bit scary and cruel when he thought about it, behind his mind.
"Why?!"
As soon as he squatted down, the Moon Crazy Beast turned around and ran away. Cologne couldn't help but look at Adam who was surrounded by the Moon Crazy Beasts and complained:
"Do I look scary?"
This was a joke of course. Everyone in the dormitory was good-looking, but that didn't stop Cologne from feeling hurt.
"Well, maybe Adam is more in line with Moon Maniac's aesthetic?"
Although the Moon Beast will not run away directly after Uther squats down, the Moon Beast will still move away slightly to avoid being touched after Uther reaches out his hand to it.
Now look at Adam, who is now surrounded by moon-crazy beasts and rubbed against by them...
"Tsk——"
The slow-witted ones were still envious of Adam, but the clever Eugene had already gotten a hug from the Moon Beast beside Adam:
"It should be safe here."
The Moon Beast and the ordinary animals encountered before would have little resistance against ferocious carnivores, not to mention those powerful magical animals. Since they can thrive here, it means there are not many predators nearby.
"Ow—"
A sudden wailing sound pierced the night sky, and Adam and others quickly stood up and looked in the direction where the sound came from.
"Ahem, no...it's okay..."
Bernard stood up, holding his stomach:
"Just now I was a little curious about whether the pink moon beast was male or female, so I lifted its tail to take a look, and got kicked..."
Not far from Bernard, a pink-haired moon monster was jumping in place and shouting loudly.
Well, the curse should be quite dirty.
Adam, who was learning snake language, subconsciously memorized this moon-crazy beast language.
It turns out that swear words are always the fastest to learn when learning any language.
"You should be thankful it wasn't a Hippogriff, or you would have been scattered by now."
Cologne complained.
"No, if it was a Hippogriff I wouldn't even touch it..."
Bernard defended himself by saying that although he was curious, he was not stupid.
"We should go now. We've been here long enough."
Eugene said.
And Bernard might not be too popular next.
After saying goodbye to the Moon-crazy Beasts, Adam and his friends’ luck seemed to have run out all of a sudden, and they didn’t encounter any animals for a long time.
"Everyone look at this!"
Cologne reached out and grabbed something from the tree trunk, and held it in front of everyone. It turned out to be a few silver-white hairs:
"It's unicorn hair!"
"How did you see that?"
Bernard couldn't help but complain, but at the same time he couldn't help feeling a little excited - that's a unicorn!
Although he had just received a pair of chopsticks made of unicorn horn, he had never seen a living unicorn.
"I just happened to see it because of the reflection. It seems that there are unicorns nearby. And judging by the luster... the unicorns haven't gone far yet."
Cologne carefully examined the unicorn hair in his hand:
"Unicorns are diurnal animals, and they sleep at night. This unicorn must have sensed our movements and got up and fled, and even rubbed against the tree."
"So it hasn't run far yet?"
Bernard was a little excited:
"We can try to chase after them!"
"What's the point of chasing a unicorn?"
Eugene patted Bernard on the shoulder:
"Unicorns only accept virgins approaching, and some of us are not even women."
"Then we can at least see it from a distance... I have never seen a living unicorn."
Bernard was somewhat unwilling to miss out on the unicorn.
"Then let's go and take a look. We don't intend to hurt the unicorn. We just want to take a look."
Adam was also curious about unicorns.
So the five of them followed the traces left by the unicorn.
"According to the traces, the unicorn is not far ahead... huh?"
Cologne suddenly frowned:
"Did you hear anything?"
"It seems to have……"
"It's the sound of horse hooves."
Uther was still trying to figure it out, but Eugene had already given the answer. He frowned and said:
"Did the unicorn find its tribe?"
It is true that unicorns are social animals...but given their personalities, it would be fine for them to attack wizards if they happened to encounter them halfway, but isn't it a bit strange for them to take the initiative to rush towards the enemy and attack?
The sound of horse hooves was getting closer and closer. The other party came to the door on their own initiative, so the five people just stood there and waited, but each of them held their wands tightly and were ready for battle.
Although they look holy and beautiful, and are vegetarians, unicorns are not weak in combat and live in groups. There are almost no magical animals in nature that can feed on unicorns.
However, when they actually saw the approaching target, the five people were surprised and disappointed.
That wasn't a unicorn, but a group of centaurs, about twenty or so... horses? One? Individuals?
"Centaurs are human from the waist up and horse from the waist down. The color of the hair on the human part is the same as the hair on the horse part. Like mermaids, they have the same intelligence as humans but voluntarily belong to the category of beasts. They like to be close to nature and observe the stars."
Eugene whispered for them,

"No wonder there are so many herbivores living in this area. It's the centaurs who are protecting them."
"Is this the poacher you were talking about?"
The horsemen, each carrying a bow and arrow, formed a circle around the five people. The leader frowned and looked at his companions beside him:
"All I saw was a group of foals that were just learning to walk."
After saying this, the centaur walked up to the five people:
"You human cubs, you have crossed the line, this is our territory!"
"Your territory? If I remember correctly, the Dark Forest belongs to Hogwarts!"
Although students are not allowed to enter, just like those abandoned rooms, the Dark Forest is still the property of Hogwarts.
Uther did not back down. He raised his head and looked at the centaur who was half a body taller than him. The centaur walked forward with no intention of stopping and was about to step on Uther.
The hoof was already raised in the air, and if it landed it would be enough to kick Uther over, but Uther still did not take a single step back.
The leading centaur narrowed his eyes and did not step on it:
"This is not the place for you to come. Go back early."
The hoof brushed past Uther's body as it fell, and the centaur led the other centaurs away in the sound of hoofbeats.
"Wow! Uther, you are amazing. You didn't lose to him at all in terms of momentum just now!"
Seeing the centaurs go away, Cologne breathed a sigh of relief, then rushed to Uther excitedly and hugged his shoulders.
"I read in a book that centaurs don't attack children."
Uther smiled.
"And if he had continued forward just now, I would not be the one who regretted it."
Although he said that, he was still nervous and his palms were sweaty.
